61 | Is being filled the same as receiving? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138199
Searcher56, The answer to your question is, Yes. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, receiving the Holy Spirit and being Baptized with the Holy Spirit is the same. However, being full of the Holy Spirit is different. Filled, as used in Acts can mean "FULL" or it can mean "FILL".
62 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138152
Greetings, Without the Holy Spirit you can not see the Kingdom of God. This is the new birth or born again. The evidence of one having received the Holy Spirit can be found in Acts 2:4, 10:46 and 19:6. It have not changed. It is the same today. This should not be confused with the "gift of tongues" that Paul address in 1Cor. |

Both men and women speak in tongues when they are filled with the Holy Ghost, just as they did in the upper room (There was women present). This still happens in the same manner today. This is not to be confessed with the gift of tongues. There is a difference.
64 | jcsav, Will all 3 end by the same event? | NT general Archive 1 | jcsav | 122205
I do not think it will. I know it will. The only thing that will last is Love. There will be no need for knowledge, prophecy or tongues. For all things will be forefilled. Why do you think Paul listed them together? The key is verse 9 and 12 of 1cor 13. |

65 | Is speaking in tongues a necessity ? | Acts 2:4 | jcsav | 122014
Speaking in tongues is not an ability. It is a sign that one have received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2;4) and it follows believers (Mark 16:17). Slain in the Spirit is not a part of doctrine, I can not find that in the Scriptures. I was a Baptist myself. I can only tell you, that God have a lot more for you. If you seek, you will find. Make sure that they water Baptise in "Name of Jesus". But, if you are looking for a defence against the Truth, I can not help you.

68 | Doctrine Divides? | 2 Tim 4:3 | jcsav | 120314
Kalos, How about this (John 9:39) "Then Jesus said, I came into this world for judgement(as a Separator, in order that there may be separation between those who believe in Me and those who reject Me) to make the sightless see and to make those who see become blind." So is it the doctrine that separates, or is it Jesus?

US, is the Majesty of God. God was not fearful of man's knowledge. Man is but a worm when compared to the Wisdom and Knowledge of God. God confused their language so that they would do his will (Gen 9:1). They (the people) wanted to stay in one place (Gen 11:4).

Shadow, What do God say of himself? Did the Holy Ghost or Spirit tell you that, The Son of God, is not God. Or did you reason that on your own? The only thing you will ever see or know of the Father, must come by Jesus. If you really know Him (Jesus) then you will also know the Father.
