41 | specific scripture on the trinity... | Bible general Archive 2 | jcsav | 142644
I know of no scripture that refers to trinity. "oneness" doctrine if used for those who truly believe in One God. That the Fulness of the Godhead dwelled in Jesus Christ. That he was God in the Flesh.
42 | jcsav, what does it mean to obey Ac 2:38 | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 142641
Who do you think it was speaking in Acts 2:38. Was it Peter or the Holy Spirit? Did it come from Peter or God. We was discussing Tongues. But my focus is on "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of you sins and YOU SHALL RECIEVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. KJV. If you have not done so. and I have obeyed. Then why do you judge me.
43 | jcsav, What does does Acts 2:41 mean? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 142635
If the 3000 didn't receive the Holy Spirit,(remember that is not what I said, I said , the bible) it would mean what it says. You can be added to the visible Church by believing (and yes you can believe and not receive the Holy Ghost) but you can not be a part of the invisible (Body of Christ) until you recieve the Holy Ghost. If Poto and Cabengo did speak in a Language only they Knew. This is not the Holy Ghost (Spirit) so why listen to them. Listen to Paul and the other Apostles. Paul says that the speaker do not understand. The Spirit gives the utterance to speak. It do not come from ones own brain. |

46 | Times people prayed together? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140371
The bible do not tell us that praying out Loud is wrong. If you find it, I'm listening.
47 | Why doesn't the Bible tell about the 3K? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140365
How would I know if they spoke in tongues. The bible do not say one way or the other. The bible, also do not verify that they received the Holy Ghost (Spirit). You seem to asume that they did because the bible says they was added. That in itself do not mean that they received the Holy Ghost. I never said that speaking in other tongues was a KNOWN language of the listeners or not. If you are being filled with the Holy Ghost. Who cares. You seem to put a lot on it.You think I sit around wondering what Language I was Speaking when I was Filled. Its the Wind (Spirit) not the movement of the leaves that is most important.
48 | underlying question in these "..tongues" | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140364
Butt in anytime. I do it all the time (smile). The discussion is not on the gift of tongues. It is on the gift of the Holy Spirit If one have the gift of tongues. They can speak at will and have control of their spirit. On the other hand, some (Me) know that when one is filled with the Holy Ghost for the first time. They speak in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance and that the speaker is not in control. This do not mean that they have recieved the gift of tongues but that they have in fact received the Holy Ghost (Spirit) Same as they did at the day of Pentecost. Others disagree. |

What do the Scriptures say?
50 | Filled w/ Him always mean tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140347
In Acts 4:8-17 Peter is not recieving the Holy Ghosts. He is filled (FULL) with the Holy Ghost. Peter recieved the Holy Ghost in the upper room and yes, he did speak in tongues. As for Acts 4:31. I do believe that they did speak and that is omitted. However if God shakes the place. Who am I to argue. |

51 | Individuals seeking, expecting tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140342
You are right on target. No where do you see it. And if everyone on this forum would do what Peter commanded in Acts 2:38, it will not have to be discuss here either.
52 | Did the 3,000 speak in tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140339
Did the Bible say the 3,000 received the Holy Ghost? The bible do not say that Paul spoke in tongues when he recieved the Holy Ghost. But we find him saying, he spoke more than them all. Acts 2:4 says they spoke in tongues (all those in the upper room) along with Acts 19:5 that makes, Four. Simon saw them recieve the Holy Ghost. If there is no outward manifestation, how is this possible?
53 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140266
Paul never called the Church services trash. Even when they did not do things correctly. He instructed them on what to do. I think that's very disrepectful.
54 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140265
You are speaking of the Gift of tongues. Not one being filled with the Holy Ghost. You would not know the difference if you walked into the Church and God was filling them or refilling them with the Holy Ghost. Or that they had gifts of tongues and was exercising their gifts, in violation of what Paul instructed.
55 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140254
We are not talking about a sign of a believer. We are talking about the sign of one being filled with the Holy Ghost. Did Peter say in Acts 2:38 ...believe and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. No. Can you believe and not recieve the Holy Ghost? the answer is, Yes.
56 | Where's Gift ... following with Tongues | NT general Archive 1 | jcsav | 140252
I think there is three. And how many times do it have to say, for you to believe it? If the 3000 did not speak then they did something, otherwise how did they (witness) know that they had indeed recieved the Holy Ghost?
57 | explain Mat 22:44 using "oneness" doctrn | Bible general Archive 2 | jcsav | 140239
The scripture read as you have stated"....the LORD said unto my Lord..." not one person to another. But, David under the influence of the Holy Spirit, Calls him LORD. That is the key. Didn't Jesus say whoever have the "Son" have the "Father" also? Please show me, with Scripture where it says there are three persons in the Godhead.
58 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140196
The sign that one have recieved the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is speaking in tongues. Read the Scriptures for yourself and see. Ask yourself, how did they know whether or not a believer had in fact recieve the Holy Ghost. There is also a Gift of Tongues.

Steve It will appear, that is one reason he allowed Timothy to be circumcised. It had to do with culture and not the "Law". |
