581 | Was Paul a married man or a single man? | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 50297
Hello, According to 1Corinthians 7:7, Paul was single. I have heard (don't quote me) that Paul was once married, being from the tribe of Benjamin, meaning that the men from that tribe usually were married, again don't quote me. God bless you |

582 | Any scriptures on slain in spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 50291
Hello enriched, I tried looking up rapture in the bible, and I couldn't find the word. I once witnessed a person receiving Christ into their life and that person began to cry, but I saw another person receiving salvation with no emotion at all. I've seen people prayed over (laying on of hands) and walked back to their seat, and I've seen others that looked as if they been struck by lightning. Some churches are quiet and others not so quiet! My point is, There is a lot of denominations out there that have different practices. If you want to go to a church where they show a lot of excitement for God, fine. Just go to a church where the Word of God is being taught and grow in your walk. Now let's talk about the rapture, is it pre, mid or post ? LOL :) just kidding! God bless you my friend |

583 | Why mean notes and answers? | Ephesians | inmyheart | 50194
Hello justme, Only the individuals you speak of can answer that. Don't make other people's problems yours. Lets be real here, not everyone on this forum or even in the local body of believers where you fellowship will always agree, as you are already finding out :) but the Word of God says, "for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh, Luke 6:45b (KJV), so we see what really is in a person by what he speaks. I took the time to read your personal profile, and you stated "I believe the renewal of the inner person becoming Christlike, is not accomplished in a moment but a lifetime" there you said it, people that are in the process of becoming Christlike are making their mistakes! being mature we should understand where they are coming from. If they knew what they were doing, they wouldn't being doing it! Paul writes about this in Romans 7:15, some people have not arrived to Romans 7:25. May I suggest that you keep your armor on at all times, even on the forum :) What better place than this, that the enemy will attack you when you least expect it!!! Let me close with this scripture my brother, "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." 1Corinthians 15:57-58 (KJV). Be encourage my friend, for the Lord your God shall "never leave you nor forsake you." Your brother inmyheart, Proverbs 4:7 |

584 | is this a passage for second coming? | Matt 25:1 | inmyheart | 50090
Greetings, Here is another source taken from the Blue letter Bible Commentary; Matthew 25:1 - The parable of the ten virgins 1. Ten virgins go out to meet a bridegroom at a wedding a. There were three stages to a Jewish wedding in that day: "engagement" (a formal agreement made by the fathers), "betrothal" (the ceremony where mutual promises are made), and "marriage" (approximately one year later when the bridegroom comes at an unexpected time for his bride) b. In this parable, the first two stages have already taken place; now the wedding party (the ten virgins) await the coming of the bridegroom for his bride c. Why does Jesus describe ten virgins? Talmudic authorities affirm that there usually ten lamps used in a bridal procession 2. (Verse 2-13)The young women caught unprepared are denied entry a. These young women were outwardly prepared (they had their lamps in hand), but yet not really ready for the coming of the bridegroom b. What did they lack in their readiness? "Oil," Which is emblematic of the Holy Spirit; only He can make us really ready for the coming of the Jesus i. No one can be a true Christian without the indwelling Holy Spirit - "now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Romans 8:9); these virigins had the appearance of readiness, but thay lacked the critical ingredient c. How can we make sure that we don't lack in our readiness? Ask for the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13), and walk in the Spirit d. In addition, we see that if we are not ready, no one else can protect us; not because no one will, but because no one can 3. The point of this parable is simple: be ready! Blessings to you my friend |

585 | More about tithing | Deuteronomy | inmyheart | 49978
Hello again, This is out of context, but in Luke 18:12, even the Pharisee gave a tenth of "all" that he got. The Lord loves a cheerful giver (2Cor.9:7). The Lord doesn't put it on the heart of the U.S. Gov't. to take out of your check what they want, they just take it. Now if the Gov't can take your money without asking you, what's the problem of giving to the Lord, that is His in the first place? Now come on, you don't have a million bucks :) !!! God bless |

586 | More about tithing | Deuteronomy | inmyheart | 49946
Yeah right, just like God kind of gave Jesus. You also left out verse 27. God's work will continue with or without your tithe. How can you "just give what God places in your heart.." and "don't worry about how much? Thank you for your time. God bless |

588 | The gift of Tongues | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 49916
Grace and Truth, I wanted to respond back to you sooner, but my computer went down. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. However, I'm not in total agreement on your post here. You stated that there are only three of the five ministries quoted in Ephesians 4:11. According to 1Corinthians 12:28, The Word of God says, v.28 "And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues."(NIV) I don't agree that the apostles and prophets have done or finished their part. The Church is still growing, still being built up, and in v.13 of Ephesians, it says, "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."(NIV) This seems clear to me, that the five fold ministry is still operating and will continue to operate until Our Lord returns. Please forward any information that will confirm what you have stated, ok? God bless you, and for His Grace and Truth |

589 | More about tithing | Deuteronomy | inmyheart | 49839
Hello, Dueteronomy 28:8(NIV), "The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on "everything" you put "your" hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land He is giving you." Everything that comes to you, comes from the Lord your God, that includes money or presents and profits made from investments. No you don't have to tithe on the above mentioned, but why not? It could as easily be taken away as well! Be obident to His Word. God bless you. |

Sam My computer has been down for almost 2 weeks :), and I finally got on today. Just wanted to say I really appreciated your two cents (I never heard of 1 1/2 cents :) ), that was a really good response! I have heard of brothers and sisters who have bought clothes for people who don't have the proper apparel. How about going to church dressed in His righteousness :) God bless you my friend |

591 | The gift of Tongues | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 49353
Hello, So does this mean that we can only expect Salvation as the only gift for today? Do you mean that the five fold ministry is not available, as it is mentioned in Ephsians? Just a few thoughts I have, forward me your answer, please. Thank you, and may God Bless you. |

592 | inmyheart, could Paul be sarcastic? | Acts | inmyheart | 49288
Yes, you are right, 1Corinthians 14:5 is the right verse I meant to refer to, thank you for bringing that to my attention. God bless you. |

593 | inmyheart, could Paul be sarcastic? | Acts | inmyheart | 49287
My friend, Paul has never been sarcastic in any of his inspired writings! What I'm saying is, why do some feel or want to ignore the "gift" of tongues? All the gifts of the Spirit are important! The whole Bible is written, as you know, for a pupose. Once again thanks for responding, I want to hear from someone who is not one sided in their understanding. God blessings |

594 | when do I spake in tounges | Acts | inmyheart | 48629
New Creature It has been stated earlier that this topic has been well debated, and probably always will be, but as you stated "tongues is for self edification". My question is, what is wrong with self edification? Do you self edify? Or do you prophesy? I here so much about this subject, but I never hear anyone claiming to doing any of the above (Tongues, interpret, prophetsey), only to zero in on how wrong it is to speak in tongues. You even stated that the obivious answer to Paul's question, "do all speak with tongues" (1Cor.12:30) is No, but in the next verse that you quote (1Cor.14:51) I would that ye all spake with tongues...etc. Is Paul say No to tongues, or is he saying Yes to tongues? Whatever your answer, it must have been important for Paul to write about or be inspired to write, wouldn't you say so? I have read another post giving web sites that would confirm that tongues are wrong, but how about the web sites that would affirm speaking in tongues. Lets say for the sake of argument, that speaking in tongues for today was true, then it would be the choice of the individual to do so, right? After all, your name is written in the book of Life because of your confession of faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, not because you didn't speak in tongues. I just don't see the logic, if some believe in tongues, fine, let them be edified! Love is the evidence of all things. Thank you for your time in reading this. I pray that we all come in the unity of the faith..Eph.4:13. God's blessings |

599 | Are we still under the Ten Commandments? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 48567
Yes and No. Yes we are to abide by the Ten Commandments, and No we are not under the Ten Commandments. To break any one of them was to be under the curse of death, no man was able to live under the commandments, except Jesus. We are saved and live by Grace. (Eph 2:5)
