2 Tim. 3:12 says; "Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." From the above verse, my question is: Does the fear of persceution, keep us from living a more godly life? The promise in the verse is not might be persecuted, but rather "will be persecuted" Your thoughts please Grace be with you zach† |

44 | Defense or offense? | Eph 6:10 | zach† | 36344
Mommapbs; Eph. 6 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (we are to get dressed for battle, we are in a spiritual battle) In 2 Tim. we are referred to as soldiers 2 Tim. 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 12 For we wrestle (wrestle indictaes struggle, real not imaginative) not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Stand, histemi in the Greek, I believe refers to stand prepared and ready, not stand still and do nothing. If we only pray, then that is at least something that all believers should do. See verse 18) 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Paul, said: 1 Tim. 6:12 FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 2 Tim. 4:7 I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: If Paul fought the good fight, shouldn't we follow his example? Paul also said: 2 Cor. 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT CARNAL, BUT MIGHTY THROUGH GOD to the pulling down of strong holds;) The spiritual battle we are in requires that we have spiritual weapons, such as the word of God, and prayer, and faith. Even in the book of Hebrews we read of those who waged a spiritual battle and were commended for it. Heb 11:32 ¶ And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith SUBDUED KINGDOMS, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, WAXED VAILANT IN FIGHT, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. I believe we ought to allow God to lead us into battle, and as He goes before us, and as we trust Him for the victory, He will bring it about. I think of the hymn. "Onward Christian Soldiers" Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war. With the cross of Jesus, going on before. Christ the royal Master, leads against the foe; Forward into battle, see His banner go. Like a mighty army, moves the church of God; Brothers we are trodding, where the saints have trod. Just a few thoughts Grace and Peace zach† |

45 | Who are the sons and daughters? | Gen 6:4 | zach† | 36248
Question: Who were the Nephilim? Were they fallen angels who intermarried with earthly women? Answer: The Nephilim were giants who lived on the earth at one time. They are mentioned in a couple of passages: Genesis 6:4 "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown." Numbers 13:33 "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight." The descendents of Anak were part of the Nephilim. The ten men who spied out the promised land became fearful of them, because they were so much bigger. Some people believe the Nephilim were offspring of fallen angels ("sons of God"), who married the "daughters of men." Genesis 6:4 says, "The sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose." The intermarriage of fallen angels and women produced giants, according to this theory. However, the problem with this interpretation is that angels aren’t able to reproduce. Jesus said, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven" (Matthew 22:30). Angels are a different order of creation than humans, so reproduction would be impossible. Another interpretation is the "sons of God" refer to the godly line of Seth, those who had retained a belief in the living God. The "daughters of men" refer to those from families who had abandoned belief in God. This is probably the more likely view, but doesn’t answer the question why their offspring were giants. We do know the Nephilim were giants, but as to who exactly they were, we just don’t know. Anything beyond that is speculation. Peace zach† |

46 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | zach† | 36247
VeryPrecious; In the course of my spiritual pilgrimage, I have attended various denominations. I have attended Reformed churches, pentecostal churches, churches of christ (who claim to be non-denominational, to which I disagree in spite of what they claim). I attended Liturgical churches, and now attend a church that is nationally and globally known as The Christian and Missionary Alliance. At this church there is a non-denominational flair, and feeling. We don't hold to any particular denominations creeds, and we don't have any creeds of our own that I have ever seen or heard. The closet I have ever come to any creed in my 13 years at this church is the few times we recited the Apostle's Creed. Also it has been my experience that at this church there is personal freedom to believe and express our various differences on scriptural topics. On any given Sunday you could experience a Sunday school class in which equal time is given to opposing view-points of the same subject, allowing those in attendance to also freely express their thoughts on which side of the subject they agree with. On a Sunday you might hear the pro's and con's for topics such as the various timings of the rapture, why or why isn't Calvinism Bibical. One week a teacher who believes in "Eternal security" may get up and present a Sunday school class on why he believes this teaching is Bibical, and the next week a different member of the church may be allowed to teach a class on why he personally believes that "Eternal Security" is not Scriptural. And when all is said and done, no one is belittled or looked upon as being ignorant and causing division within the body. However I also notice that in the essentials of our faith there is agreement and unity. It is more in the non-essentials that we disagree and discuss. But in all things we find charity, to freely allow the Holy Spirit to teach and convince each individual as to what the correct interpretation of scripture is, comparing scripture with scripture. Basically there is a Berean spirit within this church, everyone searching the scripture (not commentaries or foot-notes) daily to see whether or not the things which are being said are true. Just a personal observance; Grace and peace zach† |

47 | Once Save; Always Saved? | John 6:37 | zach† | 36138
brother Steve; We all are tempted to sin. Even Jesus was tempted to sin. (Matt. 4) Being tempted is not sin. Giving into temptation however is sin. When a believer sins that does not make us hell-bound. Sin in the life of a believer grieves the Holy Spirit, (Eph 4:30) and breaks fellowship with the Father and the Son 1 John 1:6-9. The conditional clause "If" in 1 John 1:9 is intended for believers who sin. We need to have no unconfessed sin in our lives. When we confess and turn from sin, fellowship is restored. 1 John 2:1 ¶ My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: Ro 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (all the pronouns in the above verses are addressed to believers in Christ Jesus) A continued life of unconfessed sin, in the believer, not only grieves the Holy Spirit, but over time hardens the heart of the individual, and if continued in will eventually lead to "Quenching the Holy Spirit. (1 Thess. 5:19). Grace and peace zach† |

49 | Once Save; Always Saved? | John 6:37 | zach† | 36120
JD; Let me assure all who may read these lines that the arrows and indictments which he may discover in these following comments are not directed against persons but against doctrines. Some sects declare that the same sin that damns the unconverted sinner, cannot send the Christian to hell. In other words, the sinner sins and is damned forever, but the Christian, who has been converted, may thereafter commit the same sins, but is merely - taken home to heaven! I have actually heard a professed believer say: "that if a Christian persisted in his sin, God would be forced to take him to heaven." If we follow this idea logically it means that a poor Christian who gets homesick for heaven and anxious to go before his normal time need only plunge into deep sin, thus making it impossible for God to use him here any longer. such a position would mean that the sins which damn a sinner will not damn a Christian. It would mean that the deadliness is taken out of sin the moment of conversion Which in turn means that the atonement of Christ, applied in regeneration, effects a change in the nature of sin. According to some, final salvation is not conditioned upon perseverance in obedience. The effect of sin after regeneration is absolutely nil in so far as its bearing on eternal life is concerned We need to answer the question: Was the atonement by Christ made to change the nature of sin, and thus save a man in his sin, or to change the nature of man and thus save him by separating him from his sin? Some teach that the atonement of Christ changes the nature of sin. They teach, the imputation of Christ's righteousness to the believer. This says not that sin itself has been changed in nature or has become less repugnant, but that it has been charged to the account of Christ, and his righteousness credited to our account. Some insist that sin breaks one's fellowship with God, but they insist that fellowship and eternal life are independent, and that one may lose fellowship with God without forfeiting eternal life. If the sins of the future are already pardoned, why should one repent of them when they are committed, or even attempt to avoid committing them? Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities Acts 3:26 Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. (Isaiah 55:7) He that covereth his sin shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy. (Prov. 28:13) The cry I repeatedly hear is: "Believe! believe! your sins were forgiven away back there on the cross; the work is all done, all you need to do is accept it." We were provisionally saved at Calvary, but not actually and personally. The death of Christ was an expiation for all men, but an acquittal for none. repentance is man's work, although the goodness of God leads you to repentance. God will not repent for man. Acts 17:30 declares "God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent" God would not command all men to do something that all men were unable to do. Thus, in the necessity of repentance we find personal responsibility. Continued salvation is conditioned on obedience. John 15:9-10, 14 Acts 5:32 Heb 5:9 1 John 2:4,9,15; 1:6; 3:10,15,24; 5:18 2 John 1:9; 3 John 11 A friend of mine heard a modern eternal security speaker addressing a large group of youth at a conference not long ago, say to the young people: "Girls and boys, be sure you are born again! Then if afterward you go into sin, and die in disgrace, I'll meet you in heaven." What's wrong with these pictures? 1. A man enjoys telling a dirty joke at work once in awhile, but doesn't see it as sin because he has been saved by grace. 2. Another person goes to a party and ends up getting drunk. Afterwards he doesn't think twice about it because God granted him grace. 3. Yet another man when 'hanging out with the boys' will cuss and swear once in awhile with no concern as to whether he's offended God because of the grace he received as a child. The examples go on and on: People using sexual innuendo's during conversations; people cheating on their income taxes or insurance claims; people having sex outside of marriage; people lying to one another; people showing disrespect to their parents; people willfully practicing all these things and if confronted about their sin displaying an attitude of "Oh, well, it's not that big a deal, after all I'm under God's grace". Again I ask, "What's wrong with these pictures?" Even those who might abstain from the sinful behavior in a self righteous way will still tend to question the Bible's authority and disregard anyone who tries to show them what God says in it. Yet, these very people claim to be a child of God through God's grace. Again whats wrong with these pictures? Grace and Peace zach† |

50 | Is 'once saved always saved correct? | John 6:37 | zach† | 31514
lynn; We cannot lose salvation, we can only forfeit it. Heb. 10:28-29 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for awhile believe, and in time of temptation FALL away. (Lk. 8:13 Mark 4:16-17) Fall in the above verse is the greek word aphistemi, which means to depart, or apostatize from ones once held profession of faith. In the above verse notice: 1. they hear the word 2. they receive the word with joy 3. But they have no root (this refers merely to the shallowness of their faith, or lack of depth) 4. They believe for awhile 5. Then FALL away (they don’t endure to the end) However they were believers for a time who did become apostates There are many examples in scripture of individuals and whole churches who once held the faith, and later departed from the faith. Among these are names such as Samson (Judges 16:20) Saul (1 Samuel 16:14) Jehoram (2 Chr. 17:13) Amaziah (2 Chr. 28:27) Judas Iscariot, and also Hymenaeus and Alexander (1 Tim. 1:19-20). Take a look at the church in Ephesus (Rev. 2:4-5) and the church of Sardis (Rev. 3:1-3) and the church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:15-16). There are too many warnings in scripture for the hearers, to not believe that their are no real dangers for the Christian in departing from the faith. Verses containing words such as take heed, beware, be on your guard and watch. Why all the Bibical warnings to believers if there is as some assert no danger of departing from the faith? 52 | Is Limited Atonement Bibical? | NT general Archive 1 | zach† | 35971
Dear brother John; My statements were not directed to you personally. I'm sorry if thats what you got out of that last reply. My previous statements were only intended to be an observation of discussions I have had with VARIOUS individuals in general. Before I became retired, there was such a vast array of beliefs among individuals in my last two work-places. And the people who held to their beliefs were sincere in what they believe. And I respect all peoples beliefs. I personally don't have the final say on what is true. My thoughts are still being shaped through reading the Bible. And while we don't agree on these non-essential topics we discuss, I certainly do respect your thoughts. The thing is however, as I have previously stated is: I know what scripture is used to support "limited atonement" I once believed with all my heart that "limited atonement was Bibical. But as I continued to study my Bible, verses and portions of scripture kept coming up which made me initially question that teaching and eventually doubt and disbelieve it altogether. But whatever I further say about this topic would be a repeat of what I have already stated in previous replies, I will end this reply. Also as I mentioned. I do very much enjoy our discussions. And would enjoy discussing my thoughts on any Bibical topic with you, and believe that you truly are my brother in the Lord. I know we agree an the essentials of our faith. Grace and peace zach† |

53 | Is Limited Atonement Bibical? | NT general Archive 1 | zach† | 35937
Brother John; I live in the Northeast. I usually like to get up at about 5 or 6 am at the latest. The early morning hours provide me with the best quiet time of the day before life naturally becomes noisy and busy. Concerning your statement: "You must admit, the doctrine can be supported through Scripture." I will say this. People can support anything they want through scripture, and most do. To them they find support for whatever subject they choose. I have seen individuals give Bibical support for most everything. I even have heard people say that they can Bibically support their homosexuality, through OT verses where it says David loved Johnathan. Just one of many examples I could provide, but I hope you see what I mean. For me personally, when reading and studying scripture I need to: 1) Prayerfully read scripture, looking to the Holy Spirit to guide my thinking. 2) Remove any pre-conceived notions about what scripture might say. 3) See scriptural truths through God's eyes, not through Commentaries, or church creeds 4) I need to remain teachable 5) Whenever I see that a belief that I previously believed is no longer scripturally true, I am ready to cast away all previous held to beliefs that were false. (the easiest way for one to be deceived, is to believe that he can't be deceived. Satan is very crafty and subtle, and is an expert in perverting scripture, and without our unreservedly trusting the Holy Spirit alone to be our guide then we fall back on man's teachings. And the Holy Spirit alone is called the Spirit of truth. When many come across a difficult passage of scripture, the first thing they do is run to get their nearest Bible Commentary to see what man says about that text. Scripture says; The Holy Spirit shall teach and guide us into all truth. I believe it must sadden the Lord today when many Christian's rely on their favorite TV preacher or book author or commentary writer, to tell them what portions or verses of scripture mean. They not only rely on human opinion as being the final authority for Scripture explanation, but refuse to trust that the Holy Spirit will be their teacher, as Scripture so clearly states. The Bible, and the Holy Spirit take a back seat to human interpretation. So we today end up with a lot of untruths, and half truths mixed with truth. Just a few last quotes and I will leave off. many Christian's have too readily accepted and have been ingrained with the interpretation of their favorite preacher, Church creed, or Christian Author or speaker, who also got their interpretation from human and not divine sources. Many teachers today, try to force the Scriptures to fit their Calvinism, Armianism, etc. Anyone having an independent understanding of Scriptures as taught by The Holy Spirit, who Scriptures tell us "shall teach you all things," (John 14:26; 16:13) is often ridiculed as being unteacheable. Scripture says; "ye need not that any man teach you." (1 John 2:27). Not Calvin, not Arminius, not Luther, not Wesley or any other man. too much of what formulates our doctrine today comes from footnotes, and commentaries. Scripture says the Holy Spirit will teach and guide us into all truth. The American Bible Society once stated that Bibles should be printed without extra-Bibical comments or opinions We don't compare what Scripture's says by what men say it means, but rather we compare what men say, in light of what Scripture says. God richly bless you John zach† |

54 | Tribulation before rapture? | Matthew | zach† | 35927
Steve; you are correct when you said that the "there's a time when the Lord will come in the air and take His own." and then you referred to 1 Thess. 4:16-17 which is good support for the fact that He is coming again. But at the same time, there is not any indication from those verses as to the timing of His coming. It does not say in that text, that His coming is pre-trib. As concerning Rev. 6:15-16 which you mentioned. Those verses are not referring to tribulation. Instead they talk about "the wrath of the Lamb." Wrath and tribulation are not the same thing. If you look once again in Matthew 24:29-31 you will see the proper sequence of events is: 1) the tribulation 2) the Lord's return 3) the gathering of all the elect after these events, then the wrath of God will be poured out upon the earth and it's inhabitants I urger you to do a study on the difference between "tribulation" and "wrath" Peace zach† |

Dear brother John; Actually, as much as I have enjoyed our discussions, I still hold firm to my opinion that "limited atonement" is not Bibical. This following verse alone is proof enough for me that the atonement has been made universally available. 1John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and NOT FOR OURS ONLY, BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD. 57 | is God the father of everyone ? | Gen 1:27 | zach† | 35881
jajoje: The idea that everyone is a child of God is simply not true. We are all God's by creation, but we are not all His children positionally. We only become His children positionally when we are born (or adopted) into His family spiritually. We all receive a physical birth, but we have not all received the spiritual rebirth (to be born again). We need to receive the second, or new birth. That is; to be born of the Spirit. John 3:5-6 (this is not a physical birth, but it means to be made alive spiritually) That which is born of the flesh (from earthly parents) is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit (God our Heavenly parent) is spirit. John 3:6 See also John 1:12-13 Jesus said you must be born again. John 3:7 Unless you are born again, you cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven. John 3:3-5 AS MANY AS ARE LEAD BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD THEY ARE THE SONS OF GOD. Romans 8:14 As many as are led by the spirit of Satan they are the sons of Satan. The Bible talks of two different spiritual fathers, both having children. 1 John 3:10 mentions the children of God, and the children of the devil. See also Acts 13:10 They who are children of the flesh, are not the children of God Romans 9:8 In Romans 9:22 and 23 we see that there are children of wrath fit for destruction, and children of mercy fit for glory. Ephesians 2:2 mentions the spirit that is now at work in the children of disobedience. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. Romans 8:16 I speak to my children, open wide your hearts. Don't be unequally joined together with unbelievers. What part has he that is a believer with an unbeliever. Therefore separate yourselves from the unbelievers and I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:13-18 We are also told in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that; Satan has blinded the minds of them that do not believe. 58 | Is Limited Atonement Bibical? | NT general Archive 1 | zach† | 35877
Dear brother John; This argument we are discussing goes back hundreds of years, and believers on either side of this topic can find scripture to support their postion concerning it. I doubt that we are going to settle this debate. I know for me personally the topic has been settled, and I'm sure you also believe it is a settled issue in your mind. We both read the same Bible and come away with different thoughts on the same topic which is basically a non-essential topic. However if you want scripture from the New Testament to let you know why I believe as such, then here is a basic list of scripture you can look over. John 15:1-6 Romans 11:21-22 2 Thess. 2:1-3 1 Tim. 4:1 5;12 Heb. 6:4-7 Heb. 10:26-31 2 Pet. 2:20-22 Rev. 2:4 Rev. 3:1-5 Just to name a few Seeing how both sides find scripture to support what they believe, and scripture isn't in error, then our understanding of scripture is what has to be faulty. I try to find balance in all scripture, because if one verse seems to contradict another verse, I have to believe thats not possble. So I have to take all of scripture, ESPECIALLY those verses that seem to contradict each other, and find how to reconcile the two together, and that I believe I have done. Let me give you a seeming contadiction from scripture as an EXAMPLE of how I reconcile the seeming differences. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. and James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD? Now, do James and Paul disagree on "works?" I don't think they do. If you continue reading Eph. 2:10 Paul says: Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, CREATED in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Paul also said: Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that THEY WHICH HAVE BELIEVED IN GOD MIGHT BE CAREFUL TO MAINTAIN GOOD WORKS. So I conclude from both Paul and James that once I become a believer, I should maintain good works. I don't work to BECOME saved, I work BECAUSE I have been saved. Works in the life a believer is the evidence of salvation. Well enough of my rambling on God Bless you as you daily submit yourself to Him zach† |

59 | Is Limited Atonement Bibical? | NT general Archive 1 | zach† | 35769
dear brother John; Yes thats is an agreeable definition of regeneration. It works for me. You quoted the following verse: Heb. 13:5 "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee". I believe that with all my heart. However scipture also says: Thus saith the Lord, ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you (2 Chr. 12:5) The Lord is with you, while ye be with him ... but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. (2 Chr. 15:2) because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you. (2 Chr. 24:20) I will even forsake you saith the Lord. (Jer. 23:33) Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you ... and cast you out of my presence. (Jer. 23:39) God will never just decide to forsake any believer, ever! Yet, the believer may decide to forsake Him. Once a believer has forsaken God He then will give them up to themselves and forsake them. This does not contradict that He will never leave or forsake a believer, rather it affirms that God is not the one who does the forsaking. If we fall from the faith, it doesn’t reflect negatively upon God’s faithfulness, but rather on our unfaithfulness So from all of my replys thus far, I have stated: 1) I do not personally accept "Limited Atonement teaching 2) I disagree with the teaching of "Irresistable Grace" 3) and now I have declared to also be in disagreement with the teaching of "Perseverance of the Saints" But I respectfully disagree with those teachings, and still enjoy all your replys. I believe we can disagree on the non-essentials of our faith and still be brothers in Christ. It is in the areas of essentials that we are possibly in much greater agreement. essentials such as, Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, He was buried, and He was raised from the dead on the third day, and is now seated on the right hand of God the Father interceding before Him on our behalf. And that no one comes to the Father except through Christ Jesus. By grace are we saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. God richly bless you as you daily spend time with Him in His word, looking prayerfully unto Him for guidance and direction. zach† |

60 | Thanks, but what about....? | Eph 2:5 | zach† | 35760
Dear charis; Greetings in the name of Jesus! "I take it that you have not served in an inner city mission for the homeless." Well I have and still do volunteer work inside our local food kitchen, and clothing closet. I don't know if that counts. "Even a few weeks of serving meals and preaching to the derelicts and addicts and 'professional welfare recipients" I would say that basically describes the people I come in contact with at the food kitchen. It appears to me that you work in evangelism and ministering to the lost, and thats excellent. PTL However most things I discuss are not evangelistic in nature. So I think part of the problem we have in our discussions is you try to bring all discussions into an evangelical train of thinking. And if your God given giftedness is in evangelism, again I say PTL. The issues I speak on are more doctrinal, rather than evangelical in nature. It is highly unlikely that I would discuss the same things I have mentioned in most my my replys with babes in Christ, or those with seeker sensitive hearts. My reply's were intended and geared more for those who have reached some level of maturity in their walk with Christ Jesus. In scripture we read of new born babes who need milk and are not ready for meat. And even for those who are serving as evangelists, the scriptural command to them is clear: Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. So please don't try to fit all my thoughts into an evangelical mold. They were not intended to be evangelical in nature. I merely present my thoughts, and open them up for discussion. For agreement or disagreement. Finally Cultures may change, but Jesus never changes. (Christ Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever Heb. 13:8) Jesus can transcend cultures Grace peace and love zach† |
