This is Gen 5:1-3 (NIV) 1 This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. [1] " 3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. If you wil notice, only Adam was created in the image of God. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. Seth was created in the image of Adam. Mike |

Hank, You know that God did not form Seth out of the dust of the ground as He did Adam. Genesis 5:1-3 says this: 'This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2 He Created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created. 3 When Adam had lived on hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. (NAS) I would say that God actually created two human beings and those are Adam and Eve. pro·cre·ate v. pro·cre·at·ed, pro·cre·at·ing, pro·cre·ates v. tr. To beget and conceive (offspring). To produce or create; originate. Mike |

Hey there mommapbs, If that is the idea you received from my post, my bad. I do not deny that at all. I was only commenting on the fact that God created Man, sometimes referred to Mankind which equated to Adam and Eve. The scripture says that Adam became the father of a son in his likeness, according to his image; and named him Seth. I agree with you that Adam was created in the likeness of God, but Genesis clearly states that Seth was in the image of his father Adam. Mike |

45 | Interracial marriages? Bible says what? | 2 Cor 6:14 | xmikx | 135625
Please read the following two examples taken from the NASB... This is Ezra 9:1-2. Mixed Marriages 1 Now when these things had been completed, the princes approached me, saying, "The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not (1) separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, (2) according to their abominations, those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians and the Amorites. 2 "For (3) they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that (4) the holy race has (5) intermingled with the peoples of the lands; indeed, the hands of the princes and the rulers have been foremost in this unfaithfulness." This is Nehemiah 13:22-24 also from NASB. Mixed Marriages Forbidden 23 In those days I also saw that the Jews had (3) married women from (4) Ashdod, (5) Ammon and Moab. 24 As for their children, half spoke in the language of Ashdod, and none of them was able to speak the language of Judah, but the language of his own people. I hope this will help clarify the situation for you and your grandson as well as anyone else reading about this subject. It is covered in the word of God. |

46 | Interracial marriages? Bible says what? | 2 Cor 6:14 | xmikx | 135834
Hank, I completely agree with you. The post prior just mentioned that mixed marriage was not discussed in the Bible. I merely posted two different passages where mixed marriage is mentioned in the Bible. Maybe I should have included more information, but someone mentioned to me to not read too much into what is not in the scripture. I only included the verses. It is then left up to the individual to study its significance.

48 | need help undestanding Eph. 3:10 | Eph 3:10 | xmikx | 137420
Hello JamesO, I am going to try and answer this using my take on Eph 3: 1-13. I have a New Living Translation Bible, and it reads this way for verse 10: 10God's purpose was to show his wisdom in all its rich variety to all the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. They will see this when Jews and Gentiles are joined together in his church. Now I know that some do not like the NLT version of the Bible, but it does help me. I read these verses in four or five different translations and was able to come to the conclusion that God's plan was not originally made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. But through the church, body of believers, Paul is speaking to the Gentiles or non-Jewish people, Paul states that God's plan will be revealed when Christians, Jews and Gentiles are joined together as one body called the church. This is further proof that Jesus Christ did not only come to earth for only the Jews, but for all mankind and when we all come together as a body of believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God's plan is revealed. I hope this helps you. Mike |

49 | need help undestanding Eph. 3:10 | Eph 3:10 | xmikx | 137533
JamesO, That was a wonderful post to read. I too struggled with trying to figure out my ministry at church. I knew I needed to be more involved, but was not sure in what area of my church. My wife and I of course started praying about what our ministry should be. After a few weeks of diligent prayer, the Youth pastor of our church approached my wife and said, "I see that you and Mike are interested in working with the youth." Now, this was very shocking to both of us as neither one of us had ever even hinted at working with the students (7th through 12th grade). As if this was not enough of a sign from God, we continued to pray about it for another couple of days. One morning, I called my wife to tell her what I 'heard' (not literally) as an answer to my ministry prayer. It was as if God said, "why do you think I had him (youth pastor) come to you?" I told this to my wife and she had the same exact feeling. So, we both joined in the student ministry. Neither one of us started serving with the expectation of: oh goody, now what do I get for doing this work for God. It was more about, ok, what more can I learn so that I will be able to contribute more than prayer for the students. Now this is not to say that prayer is not important, because prayer is a very vital part of our Christian faith as it says in Romans 12:12; Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. But, I needed to have some personal growth so that I could share more than personal testimony with these students. I have been rewarded greatly since I began serving in this ministry. I have developed great friendships with the students and have been able to share my "story" with them and how it is difficult, even as an adult, to live in this world. I tell them that it is essential to develop habits now at their age so that when they get to my age (32, but only 6 as a Christian) these habits will be part of their daily routine. But to answer your question of, why do we do what we do? Your answer is so correct!!! It should all be about God and that's it. I have been struggling with this concept for a while now. I can tell that God is ready to use me for something 'huge' right now. But, I am still thinking about what I will have to give up to gain more from Him. Example: I might have to give up TV time, Xbox time, sports magazine reading time, lying around doing nothing time. I really struggle with this. I know it is much more important to look at what I will gain. and that is favor with God!!!! I know this line of thinking is better for me and the correct thing to do, but it is still hard for me to grasp when using my abilities. So please, I ask the readers of this post to please pray for me that I might be able to completely submit to the will of the Father and what He has in mind for me. I am currently going through some marital problems as well. My wife and I are currently seperated. I had not been truthful with her about my problem with pornography in the past. Each and every time she would ask, I chose to lie to her. I went to church camp this past summer with my church. While here, God convicted me. I went down and prayed and asked for His forgiveness and repented of this sin. It was such a wonderful feeling to finally be free of this sin that had me tied up in chains for so long. I called my wife that very night to share my joy about being free from this sin. She immediately went on the attack about how she knew I was hiding something from her. There is so much more junk that happened next, but the important things are: she moved out into an apartment, our 2 year old daughter lives one week with her and the next week with me, she stopped going to church, stop talking to our friends from church and started hanging out with only "her" friends. I have continued going to church and serving in the student ministry. I shared the whole story with our pastor. He shared enough so that the staff could also pray for my wife and I. I have seen my prayer life grow considerably during this time and that might have been one of the things God wanted from me. I have seen God answer some of my prayers. My wife finally allowed herself to hear from God. She did not want to hear anything about honoring our vows and honoring our marriage because I was not thinking about our vows or our marriage when I was lying to her about the porn. But, God has changed her heart. My wife has agreed to come home. Praise God!!!! God is in the restoration business! He has restored what the world would have considered dead. All of this is further proof that all we have to do, is let go of our problems and let God be God!!! He is so much more capable than we are. So, once again, please pray for me that I will fully submit to God's will in my life. I am still wanting my treasures here on earth instead of storing my treasures in heaven as it says in Matthew 6:19-20. Mike |

50 | What does honor mean to you? | Eph 5:28 | xmikx | 135423
This is my first post, so please forgive if I am leaving out certain portocol for this site. I am looking for new and exciting ways to honor my wife. We are currently separated. In 1 Peter 3:7, it talks about honoring your wife or your prayers will not be heard (NLT). I would like women to tell me what you expect/deserve from your husband when it comes to honor. And guys, in what ways do you honor your wife?
51 | What does honor mean to you? | Eph 5:28 | xmikx | 135433
Thank you for your answer. That does help. I can not say the same for my actions toward my wife in the past. I have not always been truthful and am paying the price for it now by being seperated from my wife. The biggest gain from this seperation is that I have grown closer to God during this time. My prayer life has increased tenfold during the seperation. My wife is a good woman and deserves to be treated with honor. I am really wanting to become the man that Gods wants me to be and my wife needs me to be. Thanks again for the answer. And, if at all possible, ask your wife what she expects, and not only from you as her husband, but men in general when she hears "honor your wife or your prayers will not be heard" as it says in 1 Peter 3:7.
52 | What does it mean to conduct ourselves. | Phil 1:27 | xmikx | 135412
This is Pauls letter to the Philippi. In the begining of this letter he is telling them about his imprisonment for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is telling the Philippi that no matter what happens to him (Paul) act or conduct yourself in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. At this time, Paul does not know if he will be killed or tortured or what for spreading the Good News. But he does know that it is very important to always act/conduct yourself in a good and godly manner. When things don't go according to what we want, it is so easy to fly off the handle or attack back towards someone else. But Philippians 1: 27-30 tells us to conduct ourselves in a way that will honor Jesus. Paul goes on to tell the Philippi that will also suffer for Jesus. In these times we are also to conduct ourselves in a way that will bring glory to the Father. Saying all of that, I have failed at this miserably many different times, but after reading this passage it gives me a refresher on how to conduct myself in times of adversity. I hope this helps you.
53 | God's family, is there anything better? | Phil 3:8 | xmikx | 138757
God's family, is there anything better than being a child of God? This is more of a rhetorical question, but please read the following, this is Romans 8:26-30 (NLT) and then tell everyone you know that we are all adopted children and it is the greatest feeling in the world!!! 26And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. 28And we know that God causes everything to work together[11] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. 30And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And he gave them right standing with himself, and he promised them his glory. Mike |

54 | What about judgement? Heb 10:17... | Heb 10:17 | xmikx | 145589
I understand Hebrews 10:17 and am very glad that God gives us believers a clean slate each day. But, what is going to happen when we (believers) stand before the throne at the time of judgement? What are we going to be judged on if God remembers our sins and lawless deeds no more? My wife and I were discussing this topic this morning and I was unable to provide her with good information because I did not understand. Can anyone provide some clarification on this? Thank you, Mike |

56 | Are angels sinful? | Heb 12:26 | xmikx | 135542
Kalos, you state that "the Bible contains no description of that event." But in Revelation 12: 7-9 it states '7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.(NIV) This states that Satan and his angels were hurled or fell to the earth where he reigns today.
57 | Are angels sinful? | Heb 12:26 | xmikx | 135572
I do not dispute anything you say in this last note. Everything that you state about the Bible is accurate. Also, everything you say here is what I said in my note. Satan and one third of innumerable number of all angels fell to earth just after the war with Michael and his angels. If you will carefully read the last part of my note, I was not quoting scripture. The end of my note is a paraphrase of what happened to Satan after he fell. He does rule and reign on earth today and will continue to have his way until Christ begins His 1000 year reign of heaven on earth.
58 | Are angels sinful? | Heb 12:26 | xmikx | 135585
Thanks Tim for the welcome. I really enjoy this website. This is Rev 12: 1-6 from NIV translation. 1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. 4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. This is my take on this. If Satan is going to be locked in the abyss for a thousand years while Jesus rules on earth, where is Satan ruling now? If Jesus is going to rule on earth during this 1000 year period mentioned in Revelation (which is in the future) who rules on earth now? Fellow heir, Mike Nash |

59 | Are angels sinful? | Heb 12:26 | xmikx | 135593
Tim, I can agree with everything you say. Maybe I am adding or reading too much into what is actually not there. I also agree that rule or reign is a poor choice of words on my part. God is only allowing him to influence us in this world. During the time mentioned in Revelation, God will not allow Satan to have any control during Christ's 1000 year reign. |
