41 | Is hetero-anal sex a sin? | 2 Tim 2:20 | armond888 | 131907
Great answer..too bad it was necessary. But just to add a comment, I think we might refer to the behavior as both sexual immorality and impurity..Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. |

42 | Is this refering to the law of love? | James 4:11 | armond888 | 129296
We must not confuse our Christian responsibility to hold one another accountable with the references written in the epistle of James.. As Christians it is essential that we judge the moral conduct of fellow believers in order to maintain the integrity of the church (Body of Christ).. 1 Cor 5:11 But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person. 1 Cor 5:12 What [business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside [the church] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment [passing censuring sentence on them as the facts require]? 1 Cor 5:13 God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you [expel him from your church]. However we must recognize that we are given guidelines for judging and or for handling offenses..these guidlines are as follows Matt 18:15 If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. Matt 18:16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Matt 18:17 If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector Yes 1Cor 13:5 says love does not take into account a suffered wrong... But that is only after there is repentence for that wrong.. Psa 7:11, God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry [with the wicked] every day. ... Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |

43 | free will | Romans | armond888 | 129235
Man's own arrogance makes this a difficult concept for many of us.. However if we accept it or not ..it is still true.. Rom 9:16 So then [God's gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God's mercy. [It depends not on one's own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God's having mercy on him.] Rom 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, I have raised you up for this very purpose of displaying My power in [dealing with] you, so that My name may be proclaimed the whole world over. Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills. Rom 9:19 You will say to me, Why then does He still find fault and blame us [for sinning]? For who can resist and withstand His will? Rom 9:20 But who are you, a mere man, to criticize and contradict and answer back to God? Will what is formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? [Isa. 29:16; 45:9.] Rom 9:21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty and distinction and honorable use, and another for menial or ignoble and dishonorable use? Rom 9:22 What if God, although fully intending to show [the awfulness of] His wrath and to make known His power and authority, has tolerated with much patience the vessels (objects) of [His] anger which are ripe for destruction? [Prov. 16:4.] Rom 9:23 And [what if] He thus purposes to make known and show the wealth of His glory in [dealing with] the vessels (objects) of His mercy which He has prepared beforehand for glory, Rom 9:24 Even including ourselves whom He has called, not only from among the Jews but also from among the Gentiles (heathen)? Now concerning faith??? Faith without works is dead.. James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). Gal 5:6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. |

I would hope that neither of us intend to in anyway patronize the other on this topic or any topic.. I really think I may have mis-understood or interpreted the original post.. But in light of your comment " I may be too dense to grasp your argument very quickly"..I think I know where this is going so.. If you gentlemen feel your position is well represented then fine.. I have nothing to add .. |

45 | explicate reason, mind, soul, will, fles | Bible general Archive 2 | armond888 | 128637
nope, nothing to fix.. the scripture is fine.. I was refering to his comment.. as we know God's Word is never in contradiction.. while on the other hand people depending on where they are in their walk with God may.. :)... none the less 2 Pet 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 2 Pet 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. |

Actually your answer contradicts the following: 1 Cor 2:15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. 1 Cor 2:16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart And yes Jer 17:9 is true but it is in reference to the old nature..not the new .. we are Born Again.. 1 Pet 1:23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. And we have a new heart.. that is NOT deceitful.. Ezek 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, The new birth experience is fulfilling the above scripture.. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit |

47 | once saved always saved? | Jer 32:40 | armond888 | 128604
well again with my intention to strongly avoid debate ..or cause contention of any sort I respectfully say that this doctrine implies we can live anyway we choose and that is not the case at all. I leave you with this scripture reference and hopefully we can close the matter honorably , although we disagree.. to God be the Glory.. Col 1:22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). |

48 | once saved always saved? | Jer 32:40 | armond888 | 128575
Please know that I do not wish to cause a debate just think you should consider the following scriptures I have referenced.. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. If you can not lose your salvation there would be no need to say "I will not erase" Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Saved eternally??? yes you will receive eternal life.. but you can be cut-off... Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. There are many more references but I pray you get the point and use reason.. The doctrine of eternal savation is a dangerous one indeed.. |

49 | Grace AND? | Matt 6:20 | armond888 | 120234
I will have to read your post.. I am late to this discussiom .. however , it is clear that works can not save you .. I am sure you agree that after you become a Christian or "Born Again" that one of the ways of recoginzing the transformation is through the evidence of fruits of righteousness . Matt 7:20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits. John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. |

50 | Grace AND? | Matt 6:20 | armond888 | 120223
2 Tim 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Eph 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Clearly we can NOT be saved through works.. however as a result of being saved .. our behavior changes so that we pursue works of righteousness that God has ordained that we should live out... Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. James 2:18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." 9 James 2:20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 10 James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. |

52 | does sin change Gods plan? | Rev 2:1 | armond888 | 120217
Rev 2:21 'I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality Notice the Lord at His discretion may choose to give you time to repent.. because of His love and long suffering.. He does not want any to perish but all to come to repentence. 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Please notice the emphasis is on practicing sin .. that means over and over again.. If this immorality is habitual and you truly want to stop but can not..you may need deliverance, through the process of prayer and or fasting until the yoke is broken.. If you do this and your conscience does not convict you.. then you have a far more serious problem.. Prov 29:1 A man who hardens his neck after much reproof Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy. The neck in this instance relates to the will.. and means if you willfully refuse to admit..confess and turn from your sin.. over time of being told over and over again to repent.. God will destroy you.. |

53 | Now vs. Paul's day- lust and Romans | Rom 1:27 | armond888 | 116412
Lust is the same.. yesterday and today. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world .. ..and fortunately NOT forever.. because this World as we know it., the fallen state, will be destroyed 1 John 2:17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. And yes Homosexuality is sin and the behavior is condemned.. NASB Romans 1:27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error |

54 | the waters above the heavens | Gen 1:7 | armond888 | 95058
Prior to the flood the sphere of the earth was covered with water ... there was the sky.. which is basically the lower atmosphere in which we live and then.. above the lower atmoshphere was a layer of water. The pre flood environment was very oxygen rich.. and because od the water layer.. the temparature throughout the earth was even. Water serves as a conductor of heat. But if you want to research this even more I suggest you read The Creator and the Cosmos: How the Greatest Scientific Discoveries of the Century Reveal God. 2d ed. 55 | What was the problem in the church? | Acts 15:1 | armond888 | 64191
Because the Pharisees, some who had now become saved, brought over old testiment requirements like circumcision, into new testiment salvation. 15:5 But some who believed [who acknowledged Jesus as their Savior and devoted themselves to Him] belonged to the sect of the Pharisees, and they rose up and said, It is necessary to circumcise [the Gentile converts] and to charge them to obey the Law of Moses. Peter explained to the disciples that circumsion like many old testiment requirements were no longer necessary for completed salvation. Acts 15:10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting a yoke on the necks of the disciples, such as neither our forefathers nor we [ourselves] were able to endure? Acts 15:11 But we believe that we are saved through the grace (the undeserved favor and mercy) of the Lord Jesus, just as they [are]. |

56 | Do you pay tithes on whole check or part | Acts 15:1 | armond888 | 64190
My anwer will probably not be what you are looking for because it goes against modern church tradition. However take this to prayer and seek God's answer and revelation. It is the Holy Spirit that leads us and guides us into ALL Truth!!!! Tithing is not a requirement as some teach in the church. Acts 15:7 And after there had been a long debate, Peter got up and said to them, Brethren, you know that quite a while ago God made a choice or selection from among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the message of the Gospel [concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] and believe (credit and place their confidence in Acts 15:8 And God, Who is acquainted with and understands the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit as He also did to us; Acts 15:9 And He made no difference between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith (by a strong and welcome conviction that Jesus is the Messiah, through Whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God). |
