CCBJ, thank you. Reading from the NIV and reading what Taleb quoted from made me wonder if he meant to use another translation for an example or what. It as so close, yet different. TommyS |

Taleb, I just read what you said, went to dogpatch and typed in New Age Version and up came all kinds of sites. I clicked on this one http://members.aol.com/pilgrimpub/newagebv.htm. I just glanced over it, but hoped back on this site to let you (and anyone else) know about it. That author also said one didn't have to go to far into the book to see the error of such a "doctrine". Could someone tell me how to access "Christiansinteractive.com"? I know this is suppose to be for "Bible Questions, but someone told me about an article on that site. When I tried to access it I got a sentence that started with "fatal error". My friend tried it on another computer and it did the same thing.

Hello, Prayon. Thanks for responding. That's where I attempted to access it. Still doesn't open. I copied what shows up on the monitor. The same things shows up at my friend's house, so I know it's not me. "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare unixdate() in /usr/local/www/gospelcom/docs/lockman/cinteractive/pnadodb/adodb.inc.php on line 1477" Thanks anyway. TommyS |

46 | Saved by belief or belief and baptism? | NT general Archive 1 | TommyS | 100915
Does your comment "Just to clarify: this is water baptism we are talking about, not the baptism of the Holy Spirit (which happens at the momemt of conversion" ... mean that none of the disciples had experienced "conversion" until the day of Pentecost? TommyS |

47 | Why 4 Gospels? | NT general Archive 1 | TommyS | 100949
According to ONE "review" about The Gospel of Thomas, ..."you'll discover a different kind of Christ--a wandering spiritual teacher from Galilee who performs no miracles, reveals little prophecy, announces no apocalypse, and dies for no one's sins." Now, which Gospel do YOU believe? Matthew's, Mark's, Luke's and John's, OR "the doubter's"? TommyS |

48 | Why didn't Noah stop tower of Babel? | Genesis | TommyS | 95703
In Gen 11 it talks about the tower of Babel. Why didn't Noah try to stop them from building it?
49 | Why didn't Noah stop tower of Babel? | Genesis | TommyS | 95728
Blessings to you, Makarios, Thanks for your response, but I have to keep wondering because according to my Bible Noah was still alive and kicking. Seeing Noah died 40 years after Peleg gave up the ghost. According to Gen 10:24 "the dispersement of people" happened during the lifetime of Peleg. According to Gen 11:10-18, by adding up the ages, we can only conclude that Noah was alive. While I won't lose any sleep tonight, I might have to do some research of my own tomorrow. TommyS |

50 | Why was there fourteen sheep on ark? | Genesis | TommyS | 99544
Why did God want Noah to put in the ark 10 more of each “clean animal” than the “unclean”? Is their any “significance” in that number, or the 14 of each clean animal as opposed to the 4 of each unclean?
51 | Why was there fourteen sheep on ark? | Genesis | TommyS | 99619
Taleb, you asked "how could it have taken Noah 120 years to build the ark?" I have heard a lot of sermons where the preacher taught us how while Noah was building the ark, he preached. One pastor mentioned how difficult it must have been for Noah preaching for 120 years without a "convert". Doesn't the Bible tell us that Noah preached for 120 years? I tried to find it, but the only portion I could find about Noah preaching didn't say anything about it being for 120 years. TommyS |

52 | was abraham ever a gentile? | Genesis | TommyS | 101750
Yes, Abraham WAS a "Gentile". The Gospel according to Matthew was written to the Hebrew Jews. That is why his gospel begins with the genealogy of Jesus WITH Abrabam. Had Eber been "the father of the Hebrews" as Shalor apparently thinks, Matthew WOULD have begin his Gospel with - "Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham, the son of Eber." I trust what Taleb wrote (and this little P.S.) helps answer your question. TommyS |

56 | Did Pharaoh and Sarai ever get divorced? | Gen 12:19 | TommyS | 108492
When Pharaoh sent Sarai back to Abram, was that considered a divorce? Gen 12:19 Pharaoh asked Abram, "Whyd did you say, 'She is my sister', so that I took her for my wife? Here, then is your wife. Take her and be gone." (I tried to ask this question earlier tonight, but somehow it ended up under "answers".) |

58 | Why two dreams instead of only one? | Gen 41:25 | TommyS | 110643
Pharaoh dreamt dreams of seven fat and seven skinny cows, plus seven good heads and seven worthless heads of grains. When Joseph was asked what the dreams mean he answered, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same.” The fat cows and the good wheat both meant seven years of plenty. The skinny cows and worthless heads of grain both meant seven years of famine. Why did he have “double” dreams IF they were one and the same? Wouldn’t seven fat cows being eaten by seven skinny cows offered the same warning? Is there something I am missing here? |

59 | Why two dreams instead of one? | Gen 41:25 | TommyS | 110644
(I messed up and put this question under "note", so I'm trying again.) Pharaoh dreamt dreams of seven fat and seven skinny cows, plus seven good heads and seven worthless heads of grains. The skinny cows and worthless heads of grain both meant seven years of famine. Why did he have “double” dreams IF they were one and the same? Hi Tim. I understand what you mean about Pharaoh's concern might have been the reason for two similiar dreams. But after reading what Taleb wrote about another possiblity, I'll check his info out. Thanks again. TommyS |
