48 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24452
I do not feel guilty. I did not command the middle easterns government to start war and I did not command the United States government to follow through. I for one, I'm fine where I'm at, and yes, I enjoy the blessings God has brought me, for if he has allowed war to happen and others to fight for us, then let it be. They will also receive their reward, as well as we will. It just that God has appointed some to fight and quarrel while he has appointed others to watch and observe the world until he comes. |

49 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24448
Keep reading, all the way up to Rev 21. It also says there will be a second death, which will be the ultimate death for all the evil ones. The ones remaining will be Christ's bride, and he will rule. Yes, at the end, only Christians will remain. This is what I was talking about when I said Hank will see it and so will I, we will awake again, and if we do not receive the second death, we will see it. I'll do anything that it is in my power not to receive it. Obey God, with all my heart, all my might and all my soul. The war after the millenium is to get rid of all the ones who slipped by during the millenium. They will be tempted by the Devil again, and if they cannot control temptation and follow God, they will receive the 2nd death. |

Zechariah 8:1-23, God is talking about the future everyone will know him, he will rule and have a world of peace. Read Malachi and Revelations. "Thus says the Lord of Hosts: 'People shall yet come, Inhabitants of many cities; The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of Hosts. I myself will go also." Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.' "Thus says the Lord of hosts; In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, "let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with You. Zechariah 8:20-23 God will be physically be with us and we will be able to pray in front of him. |

52 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24420
There were times when God told the Israelites not to fight, but instead he sent the Angel of death to kill the people fighting against the Israelites and David. And by the way, God did not want David to build his temple because he was a warrior, he had death in his body. God loved David dearly but he could not let him build his temple, instead Salomon, a worshipper of idols did. By the way, evil rules the world, until such time when God returns, Christ himself will overcome it and I will be right next to him. In the meanwhile I do not kill, wether for good or bad. I'm going in peace, may you do the same. |

54 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24414
If the Germans had believed in Christ and known his point of views. World War II would have never started. This is an evil world and will not end until every single person knows Christ, and they will. You will see it, just as well as I will, war will not be needed any longer. We will have one King and ruler only, Christ, our Lord and Savior.
55 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24412
God did not send the Israelites to war because they were self righteous or because they were good, this is why he did it. He was taking Israel to the promised land which was occupied by wicked, savaged people who used to kill and offer their sons and daughters to false idols, and he said to Israel: "Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities and great fortified up to heaven, "a people great and tall, the descendants of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said, 'who can stand before the descendants of Anak? "Therefore understand today that the Lord your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you. "Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying 'Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land; but because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you. "It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. "Therefore understand that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your rightousness for you are a stiff-necked people. Deuteronomy 9:1-6 God himself led all these wars and fought for Israel to punish the wicked and to fulfill his promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He stopped after he fulfill his promise. At the same time he gave Israel the 10 commandments and told them not to kill. God can kill if he wants to, he is God he can do whatever he wants to, God gave Satan permission to do evil against Job, and his wife told him to curse God and die for the evil God was doing to him. "Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips." Job 2:9-10 but he can also tell us not to kill, because we are not Gods, we are his children. And if he says Do not Kill, then we do not kill as obedients children of our father. "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "you shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandments, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does not harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10 Tim, We do not Kill. God can if he feels like it. He is God. He has his own reasons and we are not to judge him. "Judge not, that you be not judged. "For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged: and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you" "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:1-4 |

56 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24396
From reading everyone's note I can see we are all very confused and war is a very touchy subject. From reading the bible and from learning from Christ's teachings. This is what I have come up with: To answer your question "How do we open the eyes of fellow Christians to this truth? WE CANNOT. It is God's job to teach and instruct each and every single one of us to do the job that he wants us to do. He has taught you and I and a few others that war is not permissible for us but he has taught something different to the rest of the people arguing with you. He will open our eyes to the truth at his own appointed time. Then we will know who was right and who was wrong. We don't know who is blind right now, it could be us or it could be them, but both sides cannot be right. One of the sides is wrong and the other one is right. Only God will fix this. Wait until he returns and each one of us stands in front of him. In the meanwhile, I say war is okay for the government and for the rulers of this earth including satan. War is not okay for us Christians to whom God has opened their eyes to not war, because then we would be sinning and would have to answer to him. If we are ever at war, here on our land, we will be right in the middle of it and we will have to choose to kill or not to kill. I for one, know not to kill and will not. If the govenment demands for me to get involved I will join the Red Cross and help the victims on both sides of the war. I will be just like the Red Cross, neutral and helping all the needed ones. They are helping in Afghanistan right now. They are in the middle of the war and they are not killing, they are helping the dying. The government does not kill them, they praise them and give them what they need. The people in Afghanistan whom have joined the Red Cross should be praised for as well. Let the war subject be at ease. Let us be Christians and concentrate on God and Christ. Martha, |

57 | How do we respond to war as Christians? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24219
A lot of people keep reading Deuteronomy to justify war, but that's the old covenant. I think they forget we have a new one. Besides God declared war againt the people occupying the promised land because of their evil doings. I have to read that again and quote it, I guess.
58 | to thuose who are called, | Jude 1:1 | Martha | 24214
Called, when you are being called by God. When you are spiritually searching for God's way and doing his will. Following what is good and not evil. Separated, as soon as you start doing God's will you change and become different from the rest of the people in the world. We are separated mentally from the world, thinking only about God and Jesus Christ, changing daily. Physically we are still in this world, waiting for Christ to return. |

59 | Is war evil? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 23734
I know war is evil. Radioman and Tim want to know where in the bible it says "war is evil". Maybe you answered their question. |
||||||
60 | Is war evil? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 23728
Radioman and Tim, I am really sorry to dissapoint you, but you will not find "war is evil" anywhere in the Bible. I would love to tell you that common sense teaches you that war is evil but I would be lieing. First of all, I'd like to tell Tim that you have experienced war first hand and that I know you positively know war is evil because you saw destruction and caos at its best. May God bless you a hundred thousand times more. I was 33 years old when God found me. I was very naive, I did not know the difference between evil and good. I knew completely nothing, nothing about people, nothing about life. I was a lost sheep following everybody else around, led by whoever could take advantage of me the most. When I started reading the bible and searching for God's truth, he responded and he responded so strongly I could never leave him nor forsake him, just like he will never leave me nor forsake me. I will not lie about this and tell you that it is common sense or I assumed war is evil just from reading the whole Bible. I know war is evil because God taught me evil and good as he was converting me, and since I now know what is good and what is evil, I cannot do evil. If I do evil I would be hurting God. We are all his children, the whole world is his. Imagine you were the father and you see your children fighting and killing each other. What would you do as the father? I'd spank each and everyone of them. If you were in the middle of the war, would you kill? Is it okay for someone else to kill for you? When you are watching TV and you see someone getting killed, Does your heart shrink or do you laugh? |
