22 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24700
I read corinthians and I also read Tim's point of view and I consulted with my pastor. The incident only happened once in the Bible, it is not anywhere else besides Corinthians. As far as we are concerned it happened once, and that's it. It no longer exists. If you can prove to me by reading the bible that this is an on-going mystery, then let me know. In the meanwhile, I listen to the leaders of the churches, Jesus Christ himself and the pastors. I do not discredit the word of God. I take it from the Bible. If it is not in the Bible, it does not exist. It was invented by men, and I will not follow men's teachings, unless He is a pastor of the church and he is following the Bible. I pick up the Bible and I read it, I am miles away. I cannot show you what I'm doing. We are limited by distance. I am in a position to state my very own personal opinion, and: God has given me a sound mind to discern good from evil. God has given me will power to say no when I very well please to say no. God has given me freedom to choose and to pursue whatsoever it is that I want. I choose to stay quiet on a subject, when I understand it completely or when I see I am about to stop edifying the glory of GOD. This is a personal message for you. Take it or leave it, but it is God's word. Many people in this forum have been hurt by your short, abrupt and unconsiderate responses. I cried last time I received your note and almost ran me away from here. Here's the word of God: "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. Now if we put the bits into the horses' mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder whereever the inclination of the pilot desires. So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; From the same mouth comes both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh. Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hipocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is rightousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. In Christ Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, my King, my God, my Father, my brother, my all in one, Lord of Lords, King of Kings. Martha, |

23 | "Once Saved Always Saved" | NT general Archive 1 | Martha | 24655
Hi Brian, I have been reading everyone's note regarding Catholics. I was born catholic, in a family full of 100 hundred percent catholics. When it was time for me to give my first communion, my mom sent me to a Sunday school, so she believed, but I ended up with an old man who told me that the Catholic Church did not teach Jesus Christ's teachings and instead read the bible with me. Boy did he get me in trouble, I was 9 years old and very proud of God, after I finish reading the Bible, but it created a lot of controversy in my house and in the catholic church. The church refused to let me receive my first communion and my mom had a big celebration prepared for that weekend, so guess what she did? she went from church to church until one of the churches priests said: What do you say? She only knows our father and the Bible? well that's okay. Let her have her communion, so I did. But from then on, I never again wanted to go into one of the churches, so I grew up aimless around the world without a God, until God finnally decided to call me and teach me Christianity. And again, I had to go through the very same thing I went through when I was 9 years old. This time as an adult I received my parents and my sisters, uncles, aunts, rejections, you name it, I received it all. I almost went crazy trying to understand God, the Bible and the rest of the world around me. So many different ideas, so many different religions, so many different issues, it can drive you mad, but God can guide you and take you through each one of those steps, one by one. He already is, because you are reading the Bible and asking questions, listen to him and do not let the rest of the people overwhelm you. If it is too much for you, take a break and come back. May God bless you, Martha, |

24 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24608
I have nothing to say. May God gives us wisdom and understanding and take us through the path that he has intended us to go through. I ask for your forgiveness and God's forgiveness if I have offended you or hurt you in part or in whole. |

27 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24542
I won't do that, they might be worshipping something else, or someone else. I wanted in a language I can understand, so I know they are worshipping God. You can never be too cautious. |

28 | Are tongues a world language or not? | 1 Corinthians | Martha | 24539
I think the apostles were talking about each other's languages, such as Italian, Hebrew, or Arab. I do not believe that people talking mumbo jumbo are talking in tongues. I think the apostles were talking in an "universal language" when everyone else heard them talking in their own language, but that only happened once in the bible and it was not mentioned again. My believe is that it does not exist any longer. |

Don't count her postings anymore. She's not talking about war anymore. "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the Prophets." Matthew 7:12 Do not do unto them what you don't want them to do unto you. |

31 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24532
What about this? Do you think maybe they were referring to speaking in French, or spanish, or German, and God is the only one who understands all tongues. (languages)
32 | What would outcome be if no war fought? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24531
If God had wanted me to be under Hitler, I would have been under Hitler, whether I would have wanted it or not. Of course I would have said: no, God no, Why are you doing this to me? Like I normally do, but he still does it anyway, and I still follow him. By the way, Hitler was the son of the devil, because he did evil, but God created him and the Devil too. What do you think of that? I'm not talking about War anymore talk about Hitler and the Devil if you want to, or about what they do. |

33 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24527
Okay, so they were speaking in an universal (to me) language, but as they spoke everyone else heard their own language. How does that tell me that, that specific act is what people call tongues these days. |

Radioman, you are not a monster or a killer. You are God's and a Christian. Cleansed and saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, just like I was, just like everyone else in this post.
36 | What are you numbering? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24519
I picked a topic and I asked everyone what Tongues was, Corinthians doesn't really explain it and someone in a post said that if you did not know how to speak in tongues, you did not have the holy spirit. What do you think of that? By the way what do you think of tithing? Don't respond to anyone else who talks about war, including myself. End it. |

37 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24518
People must fight and defend themselves because even though we are Christians we are still human beings. We are afraid God will say no to our prayers, we are afraid He will not listen and we are not strong enough to leave everything up to him, Holy Spirit or not. God sometimes will not listen to us, and he will let others kills us or get punished by them. Remember the two guys in the fire? They wouldn't pay attention to the government and worship other gods, and they said God would defend them and if he did not and die it would be the same to them? We're not strong enough to say that. God saved the two guys by going into the fire with them. Don't have time to look for it in the Bible. By the way we cannot change other people's point of view. Relax and ask God for understanding and wisdom in this area. |
