41 | what meaning has christian passover | Rom 14:5 | Jagfire | 172560
Like all the Old Testament Jewish feasts the Passover feast was a foreshadowing of Christ’s work on the cross. Colossians 2:16 says “let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” Christians are no longer bound to observe the Passover feast the way an Old Testament Jew was but they should not look down upon another believer who does or does not observe the Passover or other special Jewish days and feasts (Rom14:5). It is nto required for Christians to celebrate the Passover but it is beneficial to study it and could be beneficial to celebrate it if it leads one to a greater understanding and appreciation for Christ’s death and resurrection. |

42 | reaching other people | 2 Tim 2:15 | Jagfire | 172554
Show this person that we should take the Bible literally because Jesus Christ also took the Bible literally. Anytime Jesus quoted from the Old Testament, it was always clear that He was taking it literally. When Jesus was tempted by Satan in Luke 4, Jesus answered and quoted the Old Testament. It is clear from the context that He took the Bible literally. The disciples took the commands of Christ literal as well. Jesus commanded the disciples to go and make more disciples in Matthew 28:19-20. In Acts 2 and following, we see that the disciples took Jesus' command literally and went throughout the world preaching the Gospel of Christ. Now, just because you take the Bible literally does not mean that there are not figures of speech in the Bible. The Bible does have figures of speech. |

43 | what prophet had a vision of a statue | Dan 2:31 | Jagfire | 172542
In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that only Daniel can correctly interpret. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a great statue represented the kingdoms that would arise in the future. Daniel chapter 3 shows Nebuchadnezzar making a great statue and forcing everyone to worship it. I am not sure about the different metals it was composed of, but I think it may have been of gold.
44 | burned his son alive as a sacrifice | Gen 22:2 | Jagfire | 172450
God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. Isaac was a son of promise, and even so, Abraham immediately began his journey bringing along his son and firewood for the sacrifice. If you read the chapter, though, it turns out God stops Abraham, calling him faithful for following through. Isaac is never actually sacrificed.

46 | Who or what is GOG refers to in the Bibl | Ezek 38:2 | Jagfire | 172372
Gog will be the leader of a great army that attacks Israel in the end times (as part of a prophecy). Gog is "the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal," from the north "the land of Magog" (Eze 38:2-3). Ezekiel prophetically describes Gog attacking Israel in chapters 38 and 39 of Ezekiel. Gog will be defeated by God on a mountain of Israel. And you know what's awesome? The Bible even says this will be such a slaughter that it will take 7 months to bury all of the dead people. (Eze 39:12) The Book of Revelation also mentions Gog and Magog in 20:7. Some say that Gog and Magog could be Russia and/or China. This could be true but it's not specifically clear in the Bible. |

47 | can people be possesed by demons? | Luke 4:33 | Jagfire | 172359
Satan cannot do anything to anyone unless they have God's permission (Job 1,2). And this being the case, Satan, thinking he is accomplishing his own purposes, is actually accomplishing God’s good purposes...even as in the case of Judas’ betrayal. Now, the case of an actual Christian being demon-possessed.. it is unlikely. The Bible doesn't specifically state so, but since a Christian is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, it wouldn't seem likely that the Holy Spirit would allow a demon to possess the same person He is dwelling in. It is unthinkable to me that God would allow one of His children, whom He purchased with the blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19) and made into a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) – to be possessed and controlled by a demon. |

48 | revpete7, What are the 3 of 5 in Acts? | 1 John 3:24 | Jagfire | 172303
There are 3 times in Acts where speaking in tongues was accompanied with receiving the Holy Spirit. The verses are Acts 2:4 Acts 10:44 Acts 19:6 Remember that throughout Acts, thousands of people came to Christ or believed in Jesus, and nothing is said about them having the ability to speak in tongues. In the specific 3 cases in Acts, God enabled the Gentiles to speak in tongues so that they could show they had received the same Holy Spirit the apostles had. Nowhere in the Bible is it said or implied that Christians should expect the gift of tongues upon receiving Christ. |

49 | Where do i find it | Lev 18:22 | Jagfire | 172302
The Bible doesn't exactly say "no man shall marry a man," although based on Scripture it is clear that the statement is supported by the Bible. Scripture consistently puts down homosexual acts as sin (Rom 1:26-27 1 Cor 6:9 Gen 19:1-13)

51 | Acts 2:2 | 1 Cor 14:6 | Jagfire | 172277
“Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?" (1 Corinthians 14:6). The gift of tongues in today's society would be for the purpose of communicating God's Word with a person of another language (Acts 2:6-12). The gift of tongues is not something you can simply "want" and then pray for and receive. If you haven't already been blessed with this spiritual gift, you probably don't have it. 1 Corinthians 12:29-30 states that not everyone has the gift of speaking in tongues.
52 | When was the separation of heaven/hell? | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172203
If Satan resided in heaven, it would contradict the many descriptions of heaven in the Bible. For example, The sinful are not in Heaven, but the lake of fire (Rev 21:8) Nothing impure will ever enter Heaven (Rev 21:27) Outside of Heaven are those who sin (Rev22:15) |

53 | Who made angel to talk against god | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172195
Satan fell because of pride. He thought he could become greater than God, and he wanted to do just that. (Isaiah 14:12 and the "I will" statements). Satan wanted to be God.
54 | How Can be a satan in heaven? | Gen 1:1 | Jagfire | 172194
God cast Satan out of heaven (Isaiah 14:15, Eze 28:16). There is no Satan in heaven. In the beginning before the separation of heaven/hell is the only time Satan was in paradise. Hope this helps.
55 | What does numbers 1-12 represent ? | Bible general Archive 3 | Jagfire | 172184
The number 7 is completion and perfection. The number 40 is usually the number of punishment, trial, or kind of a "probation." Usually a time span like 40 days. There's also 666 of course, but remember there is not a meaning behind every number in the Bible. Most of the time a number is simply a number. We don't need to search for secret meanings or the like in God's word. |
