Bible Question: What is the significence or what or whom does GOG refer to in the Bible |
Bible Answer: Gog will be the leader of a great army that attacks Israel in the end times (as part of a prophecy). Gog is "the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal," from the north "the land of Magog" (Eze 38:2-3). Ezekiel prophetically describes Gog attacking Israel in chapters 38 and 39 of Ezekiel. Gog will be defeated by God on a mountain of Israel. And you know what's awesome? The Bible even says this will be such a slaughter that it will take 7 months to bury all of the dead people. (Eze 39:12) The Book of Revelation also mentions Gog and Magog in 20:7. Some say that Gog and Magog could be Russia and/or China. This could be true but it's not specifically clear in the Bible. |
