46 | Should one's spirit overrule Scripture? | Mark 10:12 | Burning Bush | 76519
linda, All your questions are good. In Eph 5:23-32 does answer the first question. A man is suppose to love his wife as CHRIST loves the church and gave himself for her.Duet 24:1-4 gives some on the second question. I don"t think that I said that your spirit can overrule scripture, but you must walk in the spirit , pray in the spirit, to hear God's voice. I dont believe in my heart that God would want you in a relationship where you are at risk. Jesus said I came to bring you life and more abundant. What does your pastor say? Do you talk to the Elders of the church? Ask the older women of the church for it says for the older to teach the younger. Please know I pray the best for you and only God can give you the answers you seek. With Christs love BB
47 | Why the eye? | Luke 11:34 | Burning Bush | 61351
Aspilos, I hope this will help. Mk 11:33-36 The unbelief of the Jews was not due to their lack of "signs," or evidence , but due to their own blindess.Light does little good for one with diseased eyes.Jesus is God's light, but their spiritual blindess kept them from seeing Him. Mk.11:34-- The eye is regarded as the lens of the soul and reflects the total oriention of one's life. The image of the "good eye" is coupled with that of a useful lamp(vs.33) Both images speak of the positive efect of true enlightenment. If a person is sincere in his desire to know whether Jesus is the Christ of God, then God will reveal it to him. but if his motives are not pure, if he wants to cling to his greed, if he continues to fear what others will say, then he is blinded to the true worth of the Savior. A bad or diseased eye will not see the light. Your friend in Christ BB

54 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | Burning Bush | 54269
Brother Tim, Thank you for the Roman passages.Rom 12:2 The best way to know God's will is to be familiar with God's word. We both know without God's word we would be as the world is. Ps.119:6,7,105. Another way to know God's will is through prayer.Col.3:15 Please don't forget that God shows us through godly counselors Pro. 19:20, 20:18,24:6. The key is to be sure that we are subitted to Him and are willing to do whatever He shows us. Finally, for people who seemingly are unable to discern God's positive directions, I recommend "negitive" guidance. Say,"Father,I want Your will above all else. Please do not let me miss your plan and purpose for my life." Such surrender has the guarantee of His guidance. Pro. 3:5,6
