41 | who made god | Is 45:18 | Bows44 | 158990
Hi Lil Kea13, Glad to hear that. Do you have a Bible? If not there are many online Bibles. I would recommend you read the Bible and when you come across something you don't understand, then ask for clarification. I wouldn't rely on others to tell me about the Bible. It is important for us to read it for ourselves. Also, it would be nice to know a little more about you. By clicking on your screen name you can update your user profile with anything you wish to share. Bless you as you grow in the Lord. Bows44 |

42 | will god forgive anyone bout anything? | Mark 3:28 | Bows44 | 158985
Hi Lil Kea 13, The Bible says that if we will repent God is faithful and just to forgive us. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. So if the person repents, then God will forgive them. More importantly for you is that you forgive them, because the Bible also says that if we don't forgive others then God won't forgive us. Matt. 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. People mess up because they are people. No one is perfect. That is why it is important to show grace and mercy to others. The Bible also tells us that we reap what we sow. Sowing grace and mercy will guarantee that you receive grace and mercy. Grace and mercy are two things that we all need a lot of. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

43 | who made god? | John 4:24 | Bows44 | 158965
God is not the spirit...He is spirit. I think reading the creation story in Genesis might help clarify some things for you. Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Bows44 |

44 | who made god | Is 45:18 | Bows44 | 158961
For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other. If there is no other, then no one made God. Rev. 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." There was no one before God. I know this is hard to comprehend, but that is just the way it is. Since God can not lie,(Num. 23:19) then this statement must be true. Hope this helps clarify things. Bows44 |

45 | prophets for today | Eph 4:11 | Bows44 | 158958
Hi Bro. Tim, Good clarification of that point! Thanks, Bows44 |

46 | prophets for today | Eph 4:11 | Bows44 | 158949
Hi Greg, We know there are prophets today because the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gave some as prophets. Eph 4:11, 1 Cor 12:28 I Cor. 14:29-33 gives instruction on how to give a prophecy. I John 4:1 instructs us on what to do when we hear a prophecy. In Rev.19:10 it says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. There are many claiming to be prophets today. How do we know if they really are? Test the spirits. If what is prophesied: 1. lines up with scripture 2. exalts the name of Jesus 3. comes to pass 4. the first three are done consistantly over time, then one can conclude the person giving the prophecies is a prophet. I know of a few who meet the criteria, but there are many who do not. I know a lot of people who can prophecy (see Acts 2:17), but are not necessarily prophets. I John 4:1 can not be stressed enough. Test the spirits by comparing a prophecy against scripture. This is also important with what a teacher teaches. Even this that I am writing you should be tested against scripture by studying it for yourself. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

47 | Could there be more? | Bible general Archive 3 | Bows44 | 158922
Hi Mark, Is this the concept you are trying to express? 1 Cor. 13 The Excellence of Love 1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. We know that every good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17); Perfect love casts out all fear (I John 4:18); Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. (Col. 3:14) and "We love, because He first loved us." according to I John 4:19. Since the greatest commandments are Love God...and love your neighbor as Jesus expressed in Matt. 22:36-40, I can see your point. Matt. 22:36-40 36"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' 38"This is the great and foremost commandment. 39"The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' 40"On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." It helps to have some scripture to back up your statements. :-) Also, knowing what the Bible says helps us know why we believe what we believe. Yours in Jesus Christ, Bows44 |

48 | Does God speak to us in dreams today? | Rev 22:18 | Bows44 | 158640
Hi Kalos, I never said this scripture proves all dreams are God inspired. What this scripture is supporting is the fact that we can use all scripture to develop a believe system, including the ones I referenced. What I believe is the same thing you said in your other post. Grace to you, Bows44 |

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (New American Standard Bible) 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Malachi 3:6 (New American Standard Bible) 6"For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. Job 33:14-18 (New American Standard Bible) 14"Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it. 15"In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds, 16Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction, 17That He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep man from pride; 18He keeps back his soul from the pit, And his life from passing over into Sheol. Joel 2:27-29 (New American Standard Bible) The Promise of the Spirit 28"It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. 29"Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. Acts 2:16-21 (New American Standard Bible) 16but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: (note: caps not mine) 17'(A)AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; 18EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy. 19'AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BELOW, BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE. 20'THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME. 21'AND IT SHALL BE THAT (B)EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.' Acts 2:39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." Conclusion: Since all scripture is to be used for teaching, etc. and God does not change, it is reasonable to conclude that since He spoke in dreams to many throughout the Bible, including the Apostle Paul, that He can and will speak to us today in dreams as well. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

52 | The meaning of the word Akador | Deut 13:3 | Bows44 | 157448
Well, that was the point of my post...go read the Bible and obey it - based on his questions regarding a sinful relationship. I was trying to say it in a way he could recieve it. When you are ugly to a peson they can't recieve what you say very well. You all jumped on something you didn't like and threw the baby out with the bath water so to speak. You didn't bother to try and clarify the point, but got ugly. If you expect me to stick to forum rules then explain the one I am violating [politely] so I have a clear understanding of where you are coming from. There was no need to file abuse charges with Lockman and get the posts deleted. Maybe I should have separated the posts to avoid confusion, but my computer is working slow right now and it was easier to combine them. I think we can all agree that the right thing to do is read the Bible and obey God. This I do and teach others to do as well. Bows44 |

53 | The meaning of the word Akador | Deut 13:3 | Bows44 | 157442
Hi BradK, Your response seems to be saying that God can't speak to people through dreams anymore and when he did they were subjective, silly experiences. This smacks of blasphemy. God can do anything he wants and what he does is always right. So if He can and wants to, God will speak through dreams. I agree we need to test the spirits to see whether they be from come God, but the pass or fail is not based on one's opinion, but on scripture. All I did was answer the man's question and supply scriptural basis for action. The action he is to take is not based on a dream, but on scripture. The point is obeying scripture. If he needs a dream to encourage him to do that, who are you to judge the weakness of this brother and the method God chooses to use to guide him to obedience? Speaking the truth in love, Bows44 |

57 | Holding things loosely? | Phil 3:8 | Bows44 | 157376
Hi Pinkerton98, I couldn't find any scripture with this exact wording. However, Phil 3:8 speaks to the princible of being willing to count all things a loss that one may obtain Christ. Also, the story of the rich ruler found in Mark 10 and Luke 18 talks about holding onto riches instead of being willing to give them up to follow Jesus. In Acts 2:44 the early church was willing to hold all things in common. There are some things we are to hold onto tightly. Read Ps. 119:31, Phil. 2:16, I Cor 15:2; 16:13; I Thess. 5:21; II Thess. 2:15; I Tim. 1:19; 3:9 and Titus 1:9. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

59 | John 8:24- What does this mean to you? | 1 John 4:2 | Bows44 | 157267
Hi Deep Input, I have been following this discussion and would like to jump in with a few thoughts. It seems to me that you have been hurt by those in the church. Out of this woundedness, you are searching for truth. It also appears to me as if you are trying to justify becoming a JW, but you know in your heart this is not the way. You said, "I know I am a child, but I want to grow up." If this is true then... 1. You must forgive those who have hurt and disappointed you. IF you do not forgive, then God won't forgive you. (Matthew 6:15) Like a hot potato, it only burns you as you hold onto it. Let it go! 2. The Christian walk is not a religion. It is a relationship...a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (I John 5:12-13) Establish your own relationship with Jesus. Then work on renewing your mind through the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is given as your teacher and who will guide you into all truth. (John 16:13) 3. Truth is Jesus. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 4. God loves people. God hates sin and what it does to people. The world that God hates is the world of sin. God does not love some people and hate others. He loves ALL people. (Romans 5:8) He wants to rescue the people trapped in the sin world (kingdom of darkness) and translate them into the Kingdom of His dear son. (Colossians 1:13) 5. At this time the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light are growing side by side. There are some who try to jump back and forth, but God will deal with them. Our responsibility is to make sure we remain true to our Lord and Savior; not judge or speak evil of others. (Romans 12:19, Matthew 16:27, Rev. 3:16) 6. God doesn't haven't problems with pledges or vows unless they cause you to violate his commands. He says to keep our vows. Let our yes be yes and no be no. (Matt. 5:37) In other words, if you say you are going to do something, then do it. Worship, on the other hand, is for God alone. (See the Ten Commandments) Please look up the scriptures and read them for yourself. Hope this helps, Bows44 |
