41 | Holy Spirit convicts of sin? | 2 Tim 2:15 | strts5 | 215050
...It is to YOUR advantage that I go away... ...go to My Father and YOU see Me no more... Clearly verse 10 is the subject of the audience, those that do believe. So, does the Holy Spirit point out our sins to us, or does He point out our Righteousness? |

42 | Holy Spirit convicts of sin? | 2 Tim 2:15 | strts5 | 215048
I was looking for other scripture or input that the Holy Spirit convicts Christians of Righteousness and NOT sin. Are there other verses that also say this?
43 | Glorious church? | Rev 1:11 | strts5 | 206125
Thank you and I agree. I think my point was all to often I feel like christians both from the pew and the pulpit describe the church like a third world country raveged by plague and starvation. I am starting to think we need to start seeing the church here and now as the beautiful bride of Christ that it is. Stop attempting to treat the field of wheat like its all tares. I'm kind of on a rant, a little frustrated. In love, Mike |

44 | Carpenter or rabbi? | Matthew | strts5 | 204638
Dear Tamara, Thank you. And a side note, only God can forgive I know, however I believe in being open about my walk for accountability and growth. I think I was "teaching" with wrong motives (partially). I will never stop having conversations with the world about Christ though. I think it's the point. In love, Mike |

45 | Carpenter or rabbi? | Matthew | strts5 | 204633
Thought I would share (repent) with everyone here. When asking the above question I already knew the answere but was only looking for reinforcement for an arguement at work. The next morning my a sales manager ( I'm a car salesman ) approached me and asked if we could talk privately. He tells me he was at home the night before painting when the Lord asked him to speake to me. So he tells me why do I feel the need to be right all the time and correct everyone, when instead I should be a light and encourage people in such a dark workplace... Anyway, maybe I need to focus on studying to show myself approved to God while serving my co-workers. Not the other way around. In love Mike |

Hopefully you took most of it as an educated guess. I am also always open to being taught. In Him Mike |

48 | When and where was the Pentecost? | Acts 2:1 | strts5 | 204051
Tamara, the house was big, but Acts 2:41, the house wasn't that big. However in Acts 2:15 it was around 9am. So, the holy men of God were gathered together for "Shavuot" (pentecost). Shavuot is traditionally practiced by praying all night (without sleeping) then going to the temple for a reading of the law. I am going to make a couple of assumptions. Reading the "Tora" probobly took most of the day(it's long), so you would most likely head to the temple pretty early. So I am going to guess and say that they were filled with the Holy Spirit while they wre praying all night. At around 9am (after they recieved the promise Jesus told them to wait for) they headed off to the temple, since they still were following the Jewish traditions. So, and I'm guessing, when Peter began prophesying they were either on there way to the temple or already there. |

49 | How to witness to evolution believers | 1 Cor 2:2 | strts5 | 192596
This is just a side note, but I'm confused with the whole "intelligent design" thing. It kind of 'feels' like compromise, or perhaps I'm just to naive and believe God really did do it in 6 (or 7) days. To me when I see the science it just makes God that much bigger. Whatever ;/ Mike R |

50 | (still) God created evil? | Genesis | strts5 | 192544
Thought of some constructive criticism. Where it said, "but many couldnt see past their key boards and stayed infected to different degrees of corruption", could be changed to, 'put there automatic updates on manual configuration, read the updates, but never downloaded them. Just a thought, however it is pretty brilliant. Mike R. |

Doc, Thank you for taking the time to respond. When I first read it my instinct was to ask questions as to the first two sentences, "We do not, of course, as believers, live by methods. Instead, we live by every Word of God. Ours is a life of relationship, not a life of technique. Relationship cannot be boiled down into steps, methods, keys, or techniques". This however is obviously my pride. Anyways, thank you I have checked out the website and will do some of the courses. Mike R |

52 | salved? | Joel 2:32 | strts5 | 182891
Thanks. I know I'm saved. I was always lucky enough to avoid the major court battles, however I did go from pot to speed. Five years off of drugs now. I had a church I really liked but work got in the way a lot. I would still try to fellowship but noticed peoples returned calls got fewer and fewer. I finally stopped going about six months ago after attending and being very involved for over three years. The people who want to go out and have a good time are always available. The path is narrow and uphill and there aren't a lot of people on it. I have played games with God, but He has faithfully pursued me. I used to read the bible and see judgment and condemnation (not negating it either), but now I see His grace and love toward me. He will never stop chasing me, so I might as well give up. I love spending time with Him. Anyways it's late and I feel like I'm starting to ramble, but if others would like to keep this going I think it would be great. (they overcame by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony). I'm sure others have something they could share. I know it helps me to hear others stories. Mike |
