41 | Aren't we in the age of GRACE? | Rom 8:28 | ngkh | 141289
Thank you for the lead, Pastor Glenn. However, I'm not sure that I understand Romans 7:25 25Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Does it mean that its alright to question and eventhough I would like to be in Gods laws its ok to be sinful because I'm a natural sinner? which is contradictory to Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. If the Spirit is in me, I should not have this sinful nature but if I am going to sin (which everyone is expected to) then the spirit is not in us. Do you follow what I am trying to say? We can be or at least I think I am in both situation but the Roman 8:9 clearly stated otherwise. Would you classify questioning and doubting God a sin? |

Yeap, God is good to me. I felt His lead from the 1st day the seed was planted. I get answers almost immediately in the strangest ways via scriptures when I tried to fight. Incidents that I put off as coincidences initially were too much for me to ignore. Incidents that fall into place one by one that finally lead me to sinners prayer. I really know what God's timing means. Thank you all for all the sharing. Learned a lot these few days of postings. God Bless. |

43 | Aren't we in the age of GRACE? | Rom 8:28 | ngkh | 141160
Hi Doc, Allow me to share some thoughts about my understanding of grace. If I'm not wrong or if I understood a Pastor's message correctly according to Romans 8:1-4, as we have faith in God, so shall He have the holy spirit in us to guide us. Thus the holy spirit in us will sort of take over and therefore we will not live according to the sinful nature. For e.g. the following was my experience. Before I came to the Lord, at times when I was presented the bill after a meal, I noticed that the restaurant had left some items out. Did I call the waiter to inform him of the error. I am ashamed to admit that I quickly paid the bill and thought how lucky I was. However, same scenarios happened again now after being a christian. With no hesitation, I have always informed the waiter of the error and paid what ever is due. Was I afraid of the law? I don't think so. The law was never in my mind. I believe the holy spirit in me told me to do what is right. By living in the age of grace, I believe it means that the holy spirit is in us now when we believe and by Jesus blood, even when I have sinned in the past, I've got a clean slate the moment I said my sinners prayer and by growing in Him, the holy spirit will dwell in me that I no longer have to think about the law for as Paul had said the law shall have no dominion over me. Question is, do I truly believe that the holy sprit is in me? I believe it does. But then again, why am I at times questioned God when I believe that the spirit is in me? If I questioned God which means my faith level is only at this height, does it mean that the spirit I have is only in my head? I don't know. Perhaps Pastor Glen will be kind to help me out on this. As per my church's theme for this year. "Grow yourselves to grow others". I wondered on how on earth do I grow. After 18 months, I still have yet to read the bible from cover to cover and there are so much things I want to comprehend. |

44 | Sorry | Rom 8:28 | ngkh | 141103
Dear Pastor Glen, Perhaps I am still trying to see things in my own logical carnal mind or I thought I have completely surrendered myself but in actual fact have not so. Again I may not have humbled myself completely before Him for I stll question when something crops up which I felt is not right. Proverbs 3:5 and 6 had always been in my mind and it crops up to me quite often in my 18 months walk with the Lord. But then again, I find it very difficult to accept certain events as they are. My apology if I have in any way offended you. |

45 | Why God allows such tragedy | Rom 8:28 | ngkh | 140871
Thank you EdB. You've made me realised again how easily I will point fingers at others but myself and how easily I can doubt. However, as my search continues, I believe I am being led to his Grace about giving too. Luke 6:38, Proverbs 11:24-25 Thanks again to all who shared. |

46 | Burn in Hell? | Mark 9:43 | ngkh | 118360
Read thru all the scriptures adviced (posted) but I still do not see a verse that says you will go to hell if you do not seek Gods salvation. I saw a presentation Heaven's Gate Hell's fire in a church which portray this info. Don't quite agree with the presentation. That is why I would like to refer back to the bible for a verse that say so. Perhaps my question was not clear enough. Sorry
47 | Why children as well? | Bible general Archive 2 | ngkh | 104949
I apologise for the confusion there. Anyway, in my part of the world, adoption is a very slow and lengthy process (lots of red tapes) so much that it discourages adoption and that we have a lot of abandoned children in homes set up by religious establishments be it Christians, Muslims and Buddhists and are normally supported by charity. Gov assistance in my opinion is really pathetic and they are generally dependant on the charity of the public. Most of the homes are in quite poor state . That's why I thought that by having a children and then ending in these homes is not going to help them much either. Lucky ones get to go to these homes. There are also many that end up in the streets. Just my 2 cents worth. |

Dear Edb, Following your earlier notes on abortions ( if I understand correctly), is it not the same as children being unable to fend for themselves as you put earlier and to have them unborn is an act of mercy. If a mother knows that she is unable to support the child and will be heavily burderned or she is a teen and was an unfortunate raped victim, will abortion be an act of mercy in this case? Another thought about we always blame God for some unfortunate events. I had a church member baptized on 24th, became a member of the church on the 26th but died on the 28th leaving a housewife and two very young children. I dread to think how the family will go on with the sole bread earner gone. I know that I'm suppose to trust Him whatever events took place but does this not create a question mark on why he had to go especially so soon after receiving salvation ? |

Thanks again very much. I was put on this question which I could not answer by a non christian. After some searching and studies thru the bible, and your comments, I should conclude as per Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your path." shouldn't I ? God Bless |
