I did look into purchasing one recently for a sister in Christ who wanted a study bible. I opted for a different one only because I couldn't find anywhere local to check it out. Sort of what your going through now :-) It is a different method of study based on what I read. I think I might like to have one also to complement the others I have. Sooner or later I probably will :-) Here is a link to Amazon.com and the NISB. It will allow you to take a glimpse of the NISB and the layout. Maybe this will be helpful. http://www.amazon.com/New-Inductive-Study-Bible/dp/0736900160 By Faith Sister!, Steve |

Greetings Brother! I highly recommend the ESV Reformation Study Bible. I got one for Christmas from my wife this year. I LOVE IT! It's put together well and get this, whoooo hooooooo it's got the word of God in it. I had to add that :-) The only complaint I have is the small type. I'm approaching that age where I find myself struggling to focus on the small type. It's not too bad yet but I can tell it's coming :-( I don't know if they make one with the large print or not. I never found one. Praise God for the Audio Bible, preachers and teachers! Steve |

46 | Abiding in Christ | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 183411
Greetings Brother! My understanding is it is essential that we abide in Him! In so doing the Father is glorified and our joy will be made full! We will experience spiritual growth! When we do not we are fruitless and can do nothing! We are to submit to Him as Lord and truly become His disciple! John 15:1-11 Our walk should be as His walk (Complete obedience!) doing all that has been commanded of us! (1 John 2:6, John 6:38, Philippians 2:8, John 8:29,28, John 5:30, John 4:34, John 12:49, John 14:31 to list a few!) I would agree with Murray in regards to the great loss. Consider the contrast of abiding in Him and not. John 15:6-7 6"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." I think Murray’s point regarding the loss sums it up well. Help us and teach us to abide in you Lord! Amen! By Faith, Steve |

Greetings Mr. Agee! Do you have something to offer the forum? Just so you know, most of us on the forum believe in the bible. As a matter of fact, most of us are here to study the bible, share it with others, and discuss the different questions people have regarding scripture. If you have something to offer regarding scripture or a question about scripture please share it with us. Someone will more then likely have an answer or response to your post. However, if I may be so bold to say, we are not interested in your web site nor your book so please stick with scripture on the forum. God Bless, Steve |

48 | They are married,is it sin to have oral? | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 185164
Greetings Brother! John, consider 1 Corinthians 7:3-5. The affection in verse 3 and the depriving in verse 5 and the warning to come together so Satan does not tempt is not speaking to procreation. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (NKJV) 7:3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. Also, consider the following scriptures Genesis 2:23-24 (NKJV) 23 And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Matthew 19:3-6 (NKJV) 3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?" 4 And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' 5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." 1 Corinthians 6:15-19 (NKJV) 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh." 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? Ephesians 5:25-33 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. There is a coming together of the husband and wife with no intent or thought of procreation. Granted, procreation is a big part of God's intent of the marriage but there is more to it then that. The two become one and it is God’s intent that it remain that way (Matthew 19:6). There is a unity of the two and it is likened to the relationship of Christ and His Church (Ephesians5:25-33). So there is more to it the procreation and sex. You sort of left your teaching on the two points below just hanging and I believe this is why Jeff felt the need to redirect so that any reading along do not walk away with the wrong impressions. " In no way is sex in the marriage bed sin. " "But God, after all, invented sex for one reason; procreation." By Faith, Steve |

Dear Sir, The cultic teachings of the Jehovah Witness are not acceptable on this forum? Jesus is God, His word teaches us that. It's settled! By the way, which one of their web sites did you copy this from? Never mind, we really don't want to know. Steve |

It is the very word of God that has exposed you, not me! As the JW like to say when trying to explain away their exposed false teachings, the light is getting brighter! And it truly is as the more they twist and corrupt God's word the more the true light exposes their deceit! They just fail to see it! Rest where you will, but many are well aware of the JW approach to deceit. They are masters of using scripture out of context and where they cannot they simply change the wording to back up their deceit. So now, let's put the matter to rest. Before your god, answer the question are you a Jehovah Witness or not? If not, then I'm left with no choice but to apologize for accusing you of being and I do. However, I will not apologize for the rejection of the false teaching you push and I would be more then interested in hearing why you would post their teaching clearly taken from their web site. Either you wrote the teaching for them or your guilty of plagiarism. You tell me! I know from the Lord God that I cannot save a man nor can I condemn him. But I can condemn and reject his false teaching! Your call sir, can you answer the question or not? Do you profess to be a Jehovah Witness or do you publicly denounce them? |

Nice try but the things you teach are not even debatable. They are false teachings and require no debate only rejection. By the way, it is by the authority of scripture that I reject the false teaching of the JW cult. The simple fact you quote scripture does not make what you say scriptural. Even satan used this tactic! Was he scriptural? Of course not. Neither are the JW! It has nothing at all to do with my opinion or what I say, it is the simple fact their teachings do not line up with the word of God. Your fruits sir have answered the questions for you! |

Greetings! And may I say welcome to the forum! Might I suggest that you spend a little more time on the forum to gain a better understanding of those who post here before jumping to assumptions and seeking to shame them and accusing them of not studying scripture. So far you have offered OPINION but nothing else. If you had taken the time to gain a better understanding of those you seek to shame and accuse of not studying scripture you might just be surprised on which side of the debate they fall on. If you have spent as much time in study of this subject as you say then I believe you will be able to discern from the post on many subjects which side of this debate one falls on as ones belief on this matter clearly influences their interpretation on other doctrines. I am in charge! You didn't know that? I thought everyone knew that???? I'm just kidding! I've made no claim to be in charge and I'm not your enemy. If you go back and read my post and stop jumping to conclusions and making false accusations as you once again did in your response ("what I saw was an attack on a new Christian") you will notice I'm trying to draw your attention to the fact your assuming way too much. There is more going on here then you understand. I would have thought pointing out to you that you might be surprised on which side of the debate some fall on and that if you take the time to see where they stand before making accusations then you would have a better understanding of what was going on. After all, you have been here less then a week! By the way, this is not the O.K. Corral. No need to take a shot at someone every time you make a post. Just so happens those you falsely accuse are brothers in Christ. Here's a test for you. Which side of the debate do you think I fall on? Your Brother in Christ, Steve |

Hi Grace... J-man is the one who ask the question :-) You responded to me. Just letting you know so if he doesn't read your post he may not see your answer. More then likely he will though so it's probably no big deal :-) I may have confused things by referring to him as J-man instead of his screen name. Sorry about that but the truth is, I don't feel comfortable calling him by the chosen screen name. Don't mean anything by that by the way it's just me :-) Thanks for your post! Steve |
