Do we take this subject of baptism to lightly?
42 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56641
I went to the two-or-three hours so that you would not run from the issue, when I showed you just two of the nine text where it showed believers being baptized in the same hour you tried to say that the very word "hour" was not in the text, and instead you used the word "immediately" which means at once, right now, right then. I could not believe that you never read that before, about believers being baptized immediately. |

43 | Isn't this verse saying that we rise to | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56645
First of all "We ought to obey God rather than men" Acts 5:29 Just because a man put something in a book, doesn't make it right. "THE BIBLE IS RIGHT" Mr McArthur disagree's with Jesus then, Because Jesus said in Luke 13:3,5 I tell you, No: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish. And Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; These are the things that make faith perfect. James 2:22,23. |

44 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56647
Please point out where I went wrong! You asked for evidence, and I gave you the evidence. What's the problem? By the way that's not theory, It's a fact, It's exactly what the bible saids. The Bible is Right! |

45 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56648
It's not a matter of believing me, but please believe the bible! I didn't add anything, you can write it with your own translation and it will still say the same thing I say. All were baptized immediately after they believed. And all I do is take it at face value, you are the one who don't believe what you read. |

46 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56652
Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Just water! |

47 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56655
Don't mind me, I'm not upset at all I think this is the best subject on the forum. All I want to know is why do we take baptism so lightly. We have heard it said, that it is not neccessary for salvation, but yet when you read about the conversions in the book of Acts the believers were baptized immediately, and I wanted to know why. |

48 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56665
Once again it's not about who's wrong or right, the Bible is Right and I know you can agree with that. But if this is the last time we get to talk about this subject, Please show me UNEQUIVOCALLY where someone in the book of Acts was not baptized in the same hour. Just one person who believed. |

49 | Isn't this verse saying that we rise to | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56666
Yes I read it. And I gave my view about it.
50 | Isn't this verse saying that we rise to | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56668
Again Please give scripture to show me where I went wrong so that I can change and be right. Which one of the conversions in the book of Acts where it took days, weeks, months, or years can you show me so that I can study to show myself approve unto God. Until you can show me word for word I have to believe that the nine conversions, they believed and were baptized that same hour. |

And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household. (NASB) AMPLIFIED Acts 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night and bathed [them because of their bloody] wounds, and he was baptized immediately and all [the members of] his [household]. I got this passage from two translations and I know you are aware of. And they both say the same thing about what hour the jailer was baptized. Please be honest with yourself, and don't play on words, because it can't be any clearer than what is given. |

Now I will say nothing else on this matter, but once again, where is your evidence? You have not presented not one scripture in the book of Acts that proved I was wrong about my statement. And all you have to do is show one, (just one), and that will shut me up for good, unless I want to be blind to the truth. Remember God is watching us deal with this issue. And the apostle Paul said in 1Thess. 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. You must do what the bible says. |

53 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56673
You see he, Philip taught the eunuch, he believed, confess the name of Jesus Christ and was Baptized. All you have to do is read the story, it happened IMMEDIATELY. You can play on words all you want to, but everytime you read it, it will show that it was IMMEDIATELY.
54 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56674
Ha,Ha, that's funny. In the book of Acts there are nine conversions, all one has to do, is do a word study on each one, then you will see it for youself. Don't let nobody tell what God didn't say in his word. All of this matches what Jesus said in Mark 16:16, but people want to throw this text out of the bible. We need to ask WHY?
55 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56677
You're back? Prove it, show me where I went wrong, don't just say "Wrong again" and don't back it up with scripture. Show me Where. Don't be AFRAID.
56 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56680
Hi Hank, All I wish to do is to be educated on this point. Why in the book of Acts were the believers baptized immediately, I didn't mean for it to take on this long thread, but the bible do tell us to be ready to give an answer to any who ask us of the reason of the hope that is in us, with meekness and fear, and I hope that I'm doing just that. I understand you view of salvation and I'm not knocking it, but I myself have a different view, but I respect your view. Makarios could not or would not answer the questions I asked him, he would just say that I was wrong about immediate baptism in the book of Acts and would not give scripture for what he was stating, and you help? |

57 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56684
I think this was an example to us, an putting it off can only hurt, today people are affraid to even mention baptism in water for fear of what other may say about them. I think the bible is very clear on the subject of water baptism, and the fact that it was done immediately, brings more light to it's importance in the role of salvation. That's all for now. THE BIBLE IS RIGHT |

58 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56740
I got it from the same bible we all read. My post was to Makarios, and you entered on your own, and I was glad that you and I had a chance to disguss this issue. There are nine cases of conversions in the book of Acts and I resreached them all, and in every case they were baptized in the same hour or immediately after being taught. |

59 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56751
"Now, given my case, since I was not water baptized immediately after making my confession, was I being disobedient to God?" "If God commands that after we believe, we get baptized immediately, was my getting water baptized weeks later done in vain?" You are the first one on this forum to ask a question like the one's you asked above. The answer to your question is this, If you believe the bible examples of conversions, did you do it like the bible saids? Believe this it is not your fault only, the one who taught you that way must bear some of the blame. Just study the book of Acts and asked the right questions, and if no one can give you a bible answer then please leave that place and sreach for the true church, where they believe all of what the bible saids about salvation. Remember in the book of Acts is your example, don't let no one change what you read is the bible. Romans 3:4 Let it not be! Let God be found true, but every person false; as it is written, That you might be justified in your words and prevail when you are judged. THE BIBLE IS RIGHT. |

60 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | The Bible is Right | 56757
All nine cases of conversions is my proof, what more do you need. Take the time and go through each one and you can make your own judgement. They did what Mark 16:16 commanded. |
