50 | Similarities of Moses and Jesus? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 35184
I am trying to put a list together of the similarities between Moses and Jesus. Some are: Both were a mediator between God and man. Both did great miracles never done before. Both went for 40 days and nights without food and water. Both changes the systems of sacrifices and introduced new rituals. Both of them changes the priesthood. Both were shepherds. Both had unusual cradles and a Miriam (Mary) to watch over them. Both of them escaped the slaughter of babies. Both of them gave up riches and kingdoms to be a servant. Both became servants in order to free the people. Bothe were men of the greatest faith and deep prayer. And at the time: No one recognized their gratness. The people were slaves (Moses time slaves to Pharoah, Jesus time slave to sin and Herod's taxes). The people always wanted more. The people wanted to stone and kill them. Can you please give me more similarities? Thank you. prayon |

53 | Why no sacrifices for Jews today? | Exodus | prayon | 34039
The Isrealites in the OT days were required to give animal sacrifices to the Lord. When Jesus Christ was crucified He became the perfect sacrifice and put an end to the need to sacrifice the animals. However, the Jewish religion believes that Jesus was not the Son of God, that He was just a prophet. Since they, therefore, are still under the OT laws why do they not offer sacrifices for their sins today?

Aaron agreed and fashioned for them the golden calf and declared "these are your gods, O Isreal". Then in verse 22-24 it states that he lied about how it happened. Why then was this man chosen to be the priest in the tabernacle?
56 | HARRY POTTER WARNING! | Deut 18:10 | prayon | 22710
More Harry Potter Warnings from Christian Author By Fred Jackson November 14, 2001 (AgapePress) - Millions of American children are about to get a crash course in occultism. So says a Christian author who is trying to warn believers about the dangers of the Harry Potter book series -- and now the movie, which opens in American theaters this weekend. J.K. Rowling’s four Harry Potter books have sold more than 116 million copies, making them one of the most popular children’s book series in history. And at the movie’s debut in Britain a few weeks ago, thousands of people showed up, many of them young children. But that’s not good news for Richard Abanes, author of the book, Harry Potter and the Bible: The Menace Behind the Magick. He tells Baptist Press that the movie and the books not only teach anti-Christian lessons on the occult, but also moral relativism. In addition, Abanes says they desensitize children to profanity and off-color humor. Baptist Press reports Abanes is also critical of several high-profile evangelicals who have praised the Harry Potter books as being harmless. Abanes says he is not sure whether it is a case of Christians trying to avoid appearing backward, or that their discernment is just at an all-time low. |
