401 | Pronouns in NASB? | Bible general Archive 4 | Bobby1971 | 197716
Hello, I'm new to this forum and have recently purchased a NASB Bible. On the Lockman Foundation's website, the following is said with respect to the NASB Update: "Proper names or titles have been used in place of pronouns only when the context made it clear who the person was..." Does anyone know exactly what this means? Would this mean that a masculine pronoun referring to God would be, or could have been, replaced with a "gender neutral" term like "God"? If the Hebrew uses pronouns, why not continue to do so? Thanks, Bobby |

406 | What does the | Bible general Archive 4 | johnn2877 | 198041
Hi, I am eighteen years old and have been saved since I was a child. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend(also Christian, same age)for a little over a year now . Early in the relationship we both set boundaries according to the Lord's word and teachings. We both saw and still view dating as an exercise to meet a spouse(not just fooling around). One of these boundaries is fornication(obviously) We all know that physical affection reaches a point of no return that leads to fornication. My girlfriend and I have made a promise to keep the right mindset and to keep the boundary lines there, as a "way out" of temptation. Sometimes, my girlfriend and I do kiss for longer periods of time("make out")We make sure that we are controlling our actions and not turning off our brains. Am I doing the right thing here? Also,I am wondering if there are verses in the Bible that relate to this??

419 | ?prophecy for the Muslim world | Bible general Archive 4 | mightilycalled | 198572
what is God saying to us in the world of today through this Bible pericope Job 24:12 From out of the populous city men groan, and the very life of the wounded cries for help; yet God [seemingly] regards not the wrong done them. Job 24:13 These wrongdoers are of those who rebel against the light; they know not its ways nor stay in its paths. Job 24:14 The murderer rises with the light; he kills the poor and the needy, and in the night he becomes as a thief. Job 24:15 The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me, and he puts a disguise upon his face. Job 24:16 In the dark, they dig through [the penetrable walls of] houses; by day they shut themselves up; they do not know the sunlight. Job 24:17 For midnight is morning to all of them; for they are familiar with the terrors of deep darkness. Job 24:18 [You say]--- the above, which i asked in a previous entry, may refer to pockets of problematic violence chances, uncontrollable ones at that, in Indonesia, Pakistan, Iraq, Gaza Bosnia, etc. Bush may be injecting a lethal blow in the latest initiative of his to bring it to one Piece my opinion |
