3102 | SECOND CHANCE | Rev 7:1 | kalos | 1352
No, they will not have a second chance to be saved. This seems to be what the following passage (2 Thess 2:10-13)is saying: . . . "and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth." |

3103 | Are the 144,000 evangelists? | Rev 7:3 | kalos | 177340
Who are the 144,000? 'In prophetic circles, there are numerous attempts at identifying the 144,000 Jews mentioned in Revelation 7 and 14. A common identification is that they are Jewish evangelists that traverse the world during the 70th week of Daniel and are instrumental in bringing untold numbers of people into the kingdom of God. That understanding is, however, never taught in the Scripture! 'When a study is made of the 144,000, we learn that there are only three verses in the entire Bible that mention these people (Rev. 7:4; 14:1,3) . From a study of these three verses we learn the following: '1. They are 12,000 Jews from 12 tribes of Israel that are sealed for protection... '2. In Revelation 14 they are with "the Lamb...standing on Mount Zion" and bearing the name of His Father "written on their foreheads". In 14:3 they sing a new song "before the throne". '3. In 14:3-4 we also learn that these are "purchased from the earth" as "first fruits to God and to the Lamb" (from among the Jews), are spiritually pure ("not ... defiled with women"), follow the Lamb "wherever He goes", are absolutely honest and "are blameless".' ____________________ Who are the 144,000? by Rev. 3104 | Purpose of the 144,000 | Rev 7:3 | kalos | 177358
Question: The first question leads to the second. As first fruits unto GOD and the LAMB (Rev. 14:4). Are they the head of the nations during the Millennial Age? (Deut 28:13)? Answer: Please read the following again. You will note that there are only three verses in the entire Bible that mention the 144,000 (Rev. 7:4; 14:1, 3). These verses say nothing about them being the head of the nations during the Millennial Age. So there is no scriptural support for this idea. Anything beyond what the Bible says in these three verses ((Rev. 7:4; 14:1, 3) is speculation. Who are the 144,000? 'In prophetic circles, there are numerous attempts at identifying the 144,000 Jews mentioned in Revelation 7 and 14. 3105 | Purpose of the 144,000 | Rev 7:3 | kalos | 177361
“God’s purpose for the 144,000 is clearly stated.” Revelation 14:4 ‘(1) These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste. (2) There are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. (3) These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. (4) And no lie was found in their mouth; they are blameless. (…) ‘3. “These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb” is the third defining strait given in this passage. God’s purpose for the 144,000 is clearly stated. They were purchased or saved "from among men as first fruits." The term first fruits occurs nine times in the New Testament (Rom 8:23; 11:16; 16:5; 1 Cor 15:20, 23; 16:15; 2 Thess 2:13; James 1:18; Rev 14:4). In Romans 16:5, 1 Corinthians 16:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, and James 1:18 first fruits clearly refers to the first initial group of converts to Christianity with more to come afterwards. 'This is the most logical and reasonable sense here. Since there are only 12,000 Jews from each tribe of Israel and they are specially identified as "first fruits," naturally the salvation of more Jews will follow their conversion. We are not told when the salvation of the 144,000 occurred. However, we know it occurs between their sealing and their standing on Mount Zion with the Lamb. The salvation of the 144,000 guarantees the salvation of the nation of Israel, which must shortly follow this scene given the destruction of Jerusalem detailed in the seventh bowl (Rev 16:19).' 3107 | Pure joy in Heaven? | Rev 7:9 | kalos | 2174
In your question you write: "Revelation 7:9 says that we will recognize all family and loved ones in Heaven." . . . No, it doesn't. For the record, Rev 7:9 NASB says: . . . 3108 | Is Spirit removed from earth at Rapture | Rev 7:9 | kalos | 158453
The Holy Spirit is not removed from the earth during the seventieth week of Daniel (what people call the Tribulation period). For if He were removed, how could anyone be saved during that period? Apart from the work of the Holy Spirit in the individual, they cannot be saved. Add to that the fact there will be a great number which no man can number who are saved during the Tribulation. The only reasonable conclusion is: In order for people to be saved during the tribulation, the Holy Spirit must remain here on earth to do His work. Rev. 7:9 The Holy Bible, New International Version® After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN SALVATION CONVICTING John 16:8-11 (ESV) And when he (the Holy Spirit) comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: [9] concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; [10] concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; [11] concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. REGENERATING Titus 3:5 (ESV) he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, INDWELLING 1 Cor. 6:19 (ESV) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, BAPTIZING 1 Cor. 12:13 (ESV) For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. SEALING 2 Cor. 1:22 (ESV) and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. Ephes. 1:13 (ESV) In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Ephes. 4:30 (ESV) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. |

3109 | Is Spirit removed from earth at Rapture | Rev 7:9 | kalos | 158455
Who is "he who now restrains" 2 Th 2:6-7? 'The Restrainer is removed '2 Thess 2:6-8 - And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed... 'Dan 12:1 - Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.' (www.solagroup.org/articles/endtimes/ep_0011.html) For a detailed explanation of the archangel Michael as the restrainer, see the following article by Marv Rosenthal: www.zionsfire.org/daniel.html AMPLIFIED 2 Th. 2:6-8 6 And now you know what is restraining him [from being revealed at this time]; it is so that he may be manifested (revealed) in his own [appointed] time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed... AMPLIFIED Daniel 12:1 AND AT that time [of the end] Michael shall arise, the great [angelic] prince who defends and has charge of your [Daniel's] people. And there shall be a time of trouble, straitness, and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the Book [of God's plan for His own]. |

3110 | what is the seven seal | Rev 8:1 | kalos | 149186
What is the seventh seal? Who has been silenced? ____________________ 'And when he broke (1) the seventh seal, there was (2) silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw (3) the seven angels who stand before God; and (4) seven trumpets were given to them. Revelation 8:1-2' What is the seventh seal? '1. THE SEVENTH SEAL is the last of the seven seals which keeps the content of the scroll hidden. Only now can the content of the scroll be known. The seventh seal is of the nature of the last three seals. That is, the wrath of God is in focus. The fifth seal requests the pouring out of the wrath of God. The sixth seal announces the imminent outbreak of the wrath of God. Now the seventh and final seal depicts the actual beginning of God’s wrath in the form of seven trumpet judgments.' Who has been silenced? '2. SILENCE IN HEAVEN has received wide discussion. Lacking explicit explanation wild speculation has abounded about the significance of this period of silence. The fact that the silence occurs in heaven is important. Since the creation of the angelic host, the adorers of heaven have continually praised and worshiped the great God of glory. That stops! There is only one event at this point in human history that could possibly render heaven silent—the wrath of God. Restrained since the Flood and promised since Adam, the eschatological wrath of God is about to finally begin. So dramatic is God’s wrath that all the eternal activities of heaven—praise and worship of the Magnificent—stop!' ____________________ http://www.revelationcommentary.org/08_chapter.html The question has been asked: "What might God's reaction be to the cessation of worship?" In a court of law the question and answer might go something like this: Counsel for the defense: ""What might God's reaction be to the cessation of worship?" Prosecutor: "Objection. The witness cannot know what God's reaction might be." [For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Rom. 11:34; 1 Cor. 2:16] Judge: "Objection sustained." * * * * * * * * * * * * * www.seekfind.org Christian Search Engine The mission of SeekFind.org is to provide God-honoring, Biblically-based, and theologically-sound Christian search engine results in a highly accurate and well-organized format. |

3111 | The number one third? | Rev 8:7 | kalos | 3882
Dear Reformedreader: Sir, I have followed your postings with pleasure. I have a great deal of respect for you and your writings. So, please do not think that my intent here is to be argumentative or in any way unpleasant. It is just that you write something whose meaning is not clear to me. You write: 'Could either of you state why the word "earth" must be translated as "people"?' . . . Below is quoted Rev 8:7 and the question and answer regarding it. Neither in Rev 8:7 nor in the postings of Gomar or Shelly does the word "people" appear. Therefore it is unclear -- to what do you refer when you ask the above question regarding the word "people"? -------------------------------------------------------- . . . Revelation 8:7 The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. . . . Question: I understand the number seven in scripture signifies perfection and completion. Can anyone tell me the significance of the number one third in this verse and some of the following verses? . . . Answer: My Life Application Bible Notes says: Since only one-third of the earth is destroyed by these trumpet judgments, this is only a partial judgment from God. His full wrath is yet to be unleashed. |

3112 | Did Jesus ever go to Hades to retreive t | Rev 9:1 | kalos | 159716
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus went to hell to retrieve the keys to death or hell or the grave. Nowhere, not even in Revelation 1:18 where the word keys is used ("the keys of death and of Hades"), does it say that: Christ WENT TO HELL or that he TOOK BACK KEYS or that Satan at any time HAD CUSTODY of any keys. In the entire King James Version of the Bible, the word "key" appears in 6 verses. The word "keys" appears in 2 verses. Thus, "key" and "keys" appear a total of 8 times in the KJV. |

3113 | about the four angels and the loctus | Rev 9:14 | kalos | 169045
Revelation 9:13-14 And the sixth angel sounded, and (1) I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, (2) "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 1. "I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden alter which is before God" is limiting in its focus. It does not refer to God since the voice is "before God." Who or what speaks is not clearly indicated. 2. "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates" is a difficult phrase. Just who "the four angels" are is not certain. Four angels were identified in Revelation 7:1. However, these four angels are bound, which indicate a different set of angels. Revelation 9:15 And the four angels, (1) who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, (2) so that they might kill a third of mankind. 1. "Who had been prepared for the hour… day… month… and year" clearly emphasizes the predetermined will of God. God placed these angels in confinement for a specific purpose, which has come due. 2. "So that they might kill a third of mankind" is both frightening and enlightening. This is the stated purpose of the predetermined will of God. ____________________ www.revelationcommentary.org/ 09_chapter.html |

3115 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | kalos | 54648
Who are the two witnesses of Revelation 11? 'The identity of these two witnesses has been debated for centuries. Some have said that they represent Elijah and Enoch because these are the only two men recorded in the Bible who did not die, having been taken up to heaven. And since Hebrews 9:27 says that "it is appointed for men to die once," they must return to earth to die. 'Others have identified them as Elijah and Moses. God promised to send Elijah the prophet "before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD" (Mal. 4:5), which we know begins after the midpoint of Daniel's 70th Week. And it is interesting to note that Elijah and Moses appeared together with Jesus on the mount of transfiguration. In this interpretation, Moses is seen as representing the Law and Elijah, the prophets. 'Others believe that these two witnesses are not Old Testament individuals, but will be two contemporary men that God supernaturally calls and empowers to minister for Him during this critical time in the history of Israel. 'We cannot be dogmatic about their identity, but we can state with confidence that the two witnesses are individuals, specially empowered by God for a specific ministry for a specific length of time during the close of the 70th Week of Daniel.' 3116 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | kalos | 54649
When were the "twelve hundred and sixty days" during which God caused his two witnesses to prophesy dressed in sackcloth? 'In Revelation 11:3-12 we are introduced to two witnesses, who are described as "the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth." We are told that, "they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." The phrase "twelve hundred and sixty days" refers to the second half of the future 7-year period we call The 70th Week of Daniel.' 'Since they are located in Jerusalem, and their prophesying will continue beyond the rapture of the church, it can be assumed that their main ministry is to oppose and limit Antichrist's actions against the one-third part of the Jews who are to survive the time of distress (Dan. 12:1, Zech. 13:8).' 'After they prophesy and testify for 1,260 days, "the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them". This is a reference to the Antichrist who will kill the two witnesses on the first day after the close of the 70th Week of Daniel.' ' . . . the two witnesses are individuals, specially empowered by God for a specific ministry for a specific length of time during the close of the 70th Week of Daniel.' 3117 | who are the 2 witnesses in rev 11;3 | Rev 11:3 | kalos | 141404
Identity of the two witnesses (Rev 11:3) The Bible does not identify the two witnesses by name. 'Wild and unnecessary speculations about the identity of these two witnesses have filled many pages. Enoch and Elijah are by far the leaders in this theological guessing game. Given the fact that both are murdered and savagely treated, it is highly unlikely that the two witnesses are historical figures from Israel’s past. The Lord Jesus, Himself, states, that the living "will not be persuaded" to repent "even if someone rises from the dead (Luke 16:31)." A point proved by His own resurrection. Equally, given that these two witnesses are murdered, it is extremely unlike God to resurrect faithful giants like Moses, Elijah, Enoch or any other great figure from the OT only to have them murdered in the streets of Jerusalem. Another point that argues against past historical figures, particularly Elijah, concerns the ministry of the two witnesses.' ____________________ http://www.revelationcommentary.org/11_chapter.html |
