261 | Rom 7:9 What's it mean? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 51871
Hank, I have neither applauded nor have I supported any of which you speak of! I simply made a statement with a verse. I haven't even read the thread, and maybe that's a good thing. I don't recall ever interacting with you in the short time that I have been registered here, for you to use some stern words towards me! I thought I had read in the rules that we are to respect one another? Anyway, if there's an misunderstanding here, I'm not the one to address it to. God bless |

267 | Holy Spirit evidence of Salvation? | Acts 2:38 | inmyheart | 51403
Brother Tim, Thank you for responding. Acts 10:45, I believe this is where (also Acts 2:38) people split on their understanding of the Holy Spirit. Meaning, can you recieve the Holy Spirit twice! This is not what is being spoken of. You wrote concerning Acts 10:45, "Yet, this is the order which occurs. They repent, recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit and then are baptized as a result of their salvation" I'm saying, they repent recieve the Holy spirit and are baptized, and then recieve the gift (enpowerment) of the Holy Spirit. What happened in the upper room on the day of pentecost? Peter is not refering to water baptism, and my friend, this is where the saints of God split. We can go round and round, some saints are mindset and some have open minds, Let God be true, the evidence of God in our lives is Love. All that really matters is reaching out for lost souls and bring them the Living God, Amen! I fellowship where I do because God led me there, and I'm growing, and you can probably say the same for yourself. I encourage you my friend to be about your Father's business, as I also will do the same. See you next time, and may you continue to be a blessing to all that you reach. God Richly Bless You! |

268 | Most accurate Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 50967
Tim, Just read your post to justme. Let me say how refreshing it was to hear someone start their post with the words "what a fun question," I really appreciated your input. It appears at times that we forget the "joy" of the Lord when posting to one another! Anyway, thanks for your uplifting response to justme, and I encourage you to continue in your brotherly love. God's blessings to you |

269 | Heaven or Hell, where is Judas? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 50770
And if I might add, Jesus waited until Judas (John 13:27) was gone before He broke bread, He didn't share with the sinner!
270 | Any scriptures on slain in spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 50702
What "you would" doesn't matter. Whether people fall out or remain standing will not change the awesome presence of God. There are those who refuse to believe any kind of move of God, I'm saying for myself, I'm not limiting Him on how he works. The one who says "no" to being overcome by His power (or slain) have never step out of their nice quiet and proper fellowship.....on and on... I'm still trying to figure out how the "rocks will praise Him," but it doesn't mean they won't! "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Gal.5:1(NIV) God bless you |

271 | When will my husband find me? | Ps 37:4 | inmyheart | 50661
Hi there justme, God bless you, and I pray that all is well with you. thank you for you for responding. I hear what you are saying, people don't seem to get it, our life belongs to God, and He knows what is best for us. This is why our lives are to be transformed as it is written in Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TEST AND APPROVE WHAT GOD'S WILL IS - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Amen! God's blessings as you lead your son. 1Corinthians 1:4-6 |

272 | More about tithing | Deuteronomy | inmyheart | 49978
Hello again, This is out of context, but in Luke 18:12, even the Pharisee gave a tenth of "all" that he got. The Lord loves a cheerful giver (2Cor.9:7). The Lord doesn't put it on the heart of the U.S. Gov't. to take out of your check what they want, they just take it. Now if the Gov't can take your money without asking you, what's the problem of giving to the Lord, that is His in the first place? Now come on, you don't have a million bucks :) !!! God bless |

273 | More about tithing | Deuteronomy | inmyheart | 49946
Yeah right, just like God kind of gave Jesus. You also left out verse 27. God's work will continue with or without your tithe. How can you "just give what God places in your heart.." and "don't worry about how much? Thank you for your time. God bless |

275 | The gift of Tongues | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 49916
Grace and Truth, I wanted to respond back to you sooner, but my computer went down. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. However, I'm not in total agreement on your post here. You stated that there are only three of the five ministries quoted in Ephesians 4:11. According to 1Corinthians 12:28, The Word of God says, v.28 "And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues."(NIV) I don't agree that the apostles and prophets have done or finished their part. The Church is still growing, still being built up, and in v.13 of Ephesians, it says, "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."(NIV) This seems clear to me, that the five fold ministry is still operating and will continue to operate until Our Lord returns. Please forward any information that will confirm what you have stated, ok? God bless you, and for His Grace and Truth |

276 | Come as you are | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 49836
Sam My computer has been down for almost 2 weeks :), and I finally got on today. Just wanted to say I really appreciated your two cents (I never heard of 1 1/2 cents :) ), that was a really good response! I have heard of brothers and sisters who have bought clothes for people who don't have the proper apparel. How about going to church dressed in His righteousness :) God bless you my friend |

277 | The gift of Tongues | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 49353
Hello, So does this mean that we can only expect Salvation as the only gift for today? Do you mean that the five fold ministry is not available, as it is mentioned in Ephsians? Just a few thoughts I have, forward me your answer, please. Thank you, and may God Bless you. |

278 | when do I spake in tounges | Acts | inmyheart | 48629
New Creature It has been stated earlier that this topic has been well debated, and probably always will be, but as you stated "tongues is for self edification". My question is, what is wrong with self edification? Do you self edify? Or do you prophesy? I here so much about this subject, but I never hear anyone claiming to doing any of the above (Tongues, interpret, prophetsey), only to zero in on how wrong it is to speak in tongues. You even stated that the obivious answer to Paul's question, "do all speak with tongues" (1Cor.12:30) is No, but in the next verse that you quote (1Cor.14:51) I would that ye all spake with tongues...etc. Is Paul say No to tongues, or is he saying Yes to tongues? Whatever your answer, it must have been important for Paul to write about or be inspired to write, wouldn't you say so? I have read another post giving web sites that would confirm that tongues are wrong, but how about the web sites that would affirm speaking in tongues. Lets say for the sake of argument, that speaking in tongues for today was true, then it would be the choice of the individual to do so, right? After all, your name is written in the book of Life because of your confession of faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, not because you didn't speak in tongues. I just don't see the logic, if some believe in tongues, fine, let them be edified! Love is the evidence of all things. Thank you for your time in reading this. I pray that we all come in the unity of the faith..Eph.4:13. God's blessings |

Hi Norrie, I agree with what you're saying, however young people have their own style. I have seen the same situation with people dressing down, but Praise God, we go to Church to see Jesus! |
