Vintage68, One question though. And I'm not looking to argue here, was all Rabbinic Law scriptural? Jesus was constantly calling the Pharisee's and teachers on there emphesis on the law and traditions. Now lets come back to today. Now it's quite obvious throughout scripture that we are to present ourselves to God in a holy manner. I won't argue that. I wouldn't want to put anything into or on my body that would not glorify God. I've thought about getting tatoos in the past, anything that I would have done would have been centered around what God has done in my life. One of the reasons I havent is because of health issues and to be frankly honest I still have questions myself. Thats why I will refer people to Romans 14 on a number of issues. It helps clear things up and will get us pointed in the right direction. In Him, lionheart |

251 | Main principle behind sacrifices? | Gen 3:21 | lionheart | 214732
johnramz, In a manner of speaking this is where it started. In Gen 3:21 God had to shed blood to cover the sin of Adam and Eve. We see in the five books of Moses the part that the shedding of was to play in the forgiveness of sin (ours). Thus the OT sacrifices. Which culminates with the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. 253 | does God still send prophets? | 2 Cor 11:13 | lionheart | 214523
John, Once again we have folks coming in with the glass half full or you might wanna say, half empty. Prophecy is either foretelling or forth telling. In any case it will not go outside of or beyond God's Word. Neither will it contradict what God has already established. Are there prophets today? Most assuredly. As long as our Lord tarries there will be generations who have yet to hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. For them it will be new light. Now the glass is full. In Him, lionheart |

AMO14, Good day sir. In this case when will exeplain things. In Genesis there wasn't a written Greek that we know of. Now in the New Testament Greek has pretty much become a universal means of comunication (written and spoken). So it would not be out of the ordinary for John to have written all this in Greek. With 2 Peter 1:20,21 in mind I find it reasonably safe to say he put down what Jesus spoke. No contradiction, no problem. In Him, lionheart |

always learning, Agreed, but Paul even tells us that the law was our schoolmaster. In our case and those who have become disciples of Jesus Christ in past years it has played a part in the past. Look at Romans 15:4. We are not bound by the law as I previously state. Jesus Christ did fulfill it. That standing it may not be written to us but if we it in light of Romans 15:4 it is there for our learning and encouragement. 2 Timothy 3:16,17. In Him lionheart. |
