21 | Why do some denominations Baptise babies | Acts 16:33 | TheFinalSQL | 122226
Agreed. Acts 8:36-38 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Praise the Lord! Norm |

Here are some, though they do not come right out and give his age. I believe it is as close as we can get. Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks equals 483 years From Jerusalem rebuilt, there are more than one decree to rebuild, but this is the only one that mentions rebuilding the city, not the temple: Nehemiah 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. King Artaxerxes' reign seems to be rather well documented as beginning in 465/464 BC depending on whose calendar you want to use. Feel free to search the internet in regard to his reign. This decree being in the 20th year would put the decree in the year of 445/444 BC. To the Messiah the Prince: Luke 19:37-40 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. This is the first time the Jesus publicly proclaimed himself the Messiah. We also know he did not live much longer after this being the first day of the week and being crucified on the 6th day of the same week: John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. One more thing to take into account is the length of a biblical year. Looking at the tribulation in Daniel/Revelations and the account of Noah's flood, we can deduce a biblical year to be 360 days. Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Genesis 8:3-4 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. Thus 483 years X 360 days equals 173880 Counting 173880 days from 445/444 BC will put you at 32/33 AD Of course trying to narrow down his exact age using our poor excuse for a calendar I do not think is possible. 24 | THE IMPORTANT OF THE BLOOD | Heb 9:22 | TheFinalSQL | 121576
One more important aspect about the importance of the blood: Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Praise the Lord! Norm |

25 | filled with holy spirit? | Rom 8:13 | TheFinalSQL | 121202
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Sound (Strong's 5456): a sound, a tone of inanimate things, as musical instruments a voice of the sound of uttered words speech of a language, tongue The quotes of 1 Cor 14 are perfect to show that the gift of tongues is not speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. Now look at the Gentiles being brought into the fold. Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 1 Cor 14.22 states that tongues are those that do not believe. Everyone there believed. The Jews believed they already had the Holy Ghost and the Gentiles would not have received the Holy Ghost if they did not believe. Praise the Lord! Norm |

26 | Why would we be undone? | 1 Cor 11:30 | TheFinalSQL | 120427
Rowdy, Here are a couple of scriptures that may assist you: Your name is written in the Book of Life when you are saved/born again. Psalms 87:6 The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. If your name can be removed, then there is no such thing as once saved always saved. Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. If you commit sin, you are separated from God: Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. However, God does give us time to repent. Revelation 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Praise the Lord! Norm |

27 | Jesus said Don't Tell" about my miracle | Dan 9:25 | TheFinalSQL | 120255
In studying this you may find there are several decrees to rebuild the temple. However, with Daniel 9:25 the prophecy deals with the city Jerusalem being rebuilt, as found in Nehemiah. Even though Jesus probably knew the exact time to proclaim himself publically, he did not force this belief onto others, such as Judas to bring this to a conclusion. Praise the Lord! Norm |

28 | why isn't the fourth commandment kept? | Ex 20:8 | TheFinalSQL | 119518
Here is another, we enter into the rest by believing in Jesus Christ: Hebrews 4:1-10 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Praise the Lord! Norm Praise the Lord! |

29 | Did Jesus actually go to Hell? | NT general Archive 1 | TheFinalSQL | 117965
"Preaching about the Kingdom of God was introduced by Christ Jesus" In paving the way I thought John the Baptist did the introduction: Matthew 3:1-2 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Anyway, Jesus descending and ascending and how we can chronologically put everything in the right order to comprehend, I think it is important to realize once you die you are in eternity. There is no time. Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Praise the Lord! Norm |

31 | When is the third day since Sunday? | Luke 24:21 | TheFinalSQL | 117844
No, Friday. Friday is day 1 Saturday is day 2 Sunday is day 3 John 19:31-33 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: The sabbath day began at our evening on Friday. Praise the Lord! Norm |

32 | HONOR THY SABBATH | Bible general Archive 2 | TheFinalSQL | 117189
Easter and Christmas were attempts to take pagan holidays and make them Christian, to lure pagans deceitfully to Christianity. Jesus never taught such methods. As for the festivals you mention: Colossians 2:13-17 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. "Nowhere in the Bible is there a clear verse of Scripture to indicate that Christ TOOK BACK any keys or that Satan had possession of keys." Ok kalos, you pulled me out of "retirement" Here is the scripture being sought: NASB Hebrews 2:14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, KJV Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Praise the Lord! I answered perfectly well. Jesus did not forsake himself because we was not the Father at that time. Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Prior to this Jesus did not exist. Jesus was both human and divine. He can and did speak as either. Praise the Lord! Norm |

39 | Why isn't the gift of tongues a sign? | 2 Cor 13:14 | TheFinalSQL | 112992
Sure, lets look at the verse brought up in this thread: 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. Notice it says that tongues are a sign. But, it says not to them that believe. Now if we look at the speaking of tongues in Acts 10 Acts 10:44-45 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Notice, they of the circumcion believed. Tongues in 1 Cor 14.22 are for them that do not believe. Thus it is impossible that the tongues in these 2 scriptures are one and the same. Speaking in tingues as the Spirit gives the utterance is not a gift. It is the Spirit speaking for you. John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Praise the Lord!
