21 | SOMEPEOPLE SAY IT IS NECESSARY | NT general Archive 1 | RJJ | 99461
Greeting HIRAM and welcome to the Forum. I hope that you have been able to follow the good advice given by Emmaus. You may have the answer already to my question! Are you a swimmer or a paddler or do you dunk or do you sprinkle? To be a little more serious have you given the means of baptism? Some churches teach that a sprinkle of Holy Water is all that is needed in adult baptism while others say that total immersion is the Scriptural way. I support total immersion, I pray that you do also, if not, and want Scriptural support for total immersion I will supply if asked. The most important thing of course is the reason for baptism. May obedience to God be your answer and may God bless you on that day. SHALOM RJJ. |

Greetings Jephthae, thank you for your post. If you go to post #99421 you will be able to read my conclusion to this question, I am sorry that your post was not part of that conclusion but I hope that you agree with ny conclusion. May I point out that the question was regarding where children went when they died, so purgatory was not the issue. Nor was the issue, the election/predestination or the foreknowledge of God or even the issue of free will of God/man. All good debatable topics which I am sure has been debated already many times. This of course does not stop you raising them again as questions, I am sure that someone will debate with you, possibly I will. I note that this is one of your first notes, so welcome to the Forum and keep them coming!! SHALOM. RJJ |

Greetings candy lee, thank you for your post you may be interested in my conclusion to this question, post #99421. Although the Catholic doctrine is commonly known as "limbo" (and come from the Latin "limbus"), it is only a "name", the substance of the doctrine, where do children go when they die is not, "in the bible" either! While not saying that the Catholic theologians got it right or wrong, my question was what was the Protestant answer? I am no theologian but what does one say to the distraught parents of a dieing child when asked that question and asked to "prove it" SHALOM RJJ P/s Thanks for the doctrine, commonly called"soul sleep"a doctrine that I DO NOT subscribs to. SHALOM RJJ. |

Greetings Heathclif89 many thanks for your post, and refer you to my conclusion to the question, where do children go when they die #post 99421. I especially want to thank you as your answer must have reawakened hurtful memories, while I cannot apologise for some of the reactions, I can assure you that my intention was not to upset anyone. As I am sure was not your intention, I am sorry to say that debaters on this Forum are easy to arouse and do have a tendency to wander off the issue/topic under debate, as this thread shows and the reason behind the warning at the top of the page. Although I cannot attribute all blame to my fellow debaters, as some of the question/notes are "open ended", stray from the point or contain a word or a statement that are pounced upon with a vigour that would credit a starving wolf! So please do not be discouraged keep on sharing with us all. SHALOM RJJ. P/s if my comments upset ANYONE may I say this, "if the cap fits" meaning that, if the truth hurts then do something to stop the truth hurting!! |

25 | EUREKA!! I have found it! | 2 Sam 12:23 | RJJ | 99433
Greetings Searcher56. Thank you for you post. A post that I found very exasperating, the post I posted was a conclusion not a begging, I would suggest that you read all the posts mentioned, all the posts on the thread, the Westminster Confession of Faith (10.1 where it relates to the question), the Holy Scriptures and if you want to, the Catholic answer to the question (it can be found on the web) and if after all that research and study you still cannot answer the question that I posed, then I pray that God will show you the answer in a way that you will understand. May I point out that it was our Lord Jesus who called the "place of the dead" Abraham's Bosom, who also gave a description of Hell and as our Lord died HE descended into hell to take the just (who had been waiting for the resurrection) to take them up to Paradise. As both David and his son died (fact!), then they MUST have meet. ALL die because of the sin of Adam/original sin (fact!). The age of accountability is a separate issue, if you are interested there are already 972 posts in the archives on this topic. So, God bless you in your search. SHALOM. RJJ. |

Hello my fellow brother in CHRIST, Many thanks Hank for your "straight" answer. So why, in your opinion, do "healers" use this scripture, is it to support the teaching that the unheald have to "live as though they have been healed and to have faith while wait for it to manifest in real1ity"? Persoal note:-"hunch" is Hank a "Yank"? |

Hello Hank, Did not mean to insult you Sir, and reading your answer to my question, I'm sure glad that the war is over. From your answer am I to understand that you have strong views on the whole healing issue?, while agreeing with you in everything you said have you got any views that support the doctrine of healing that is evident in the scriptures. ie 2 Cor ch12 v4-7 and the evedenctial use of these being used in the early church as in 1 Tim ch4 v14. My father was nick named "Stonewall", up the REBS!!! |

Hi Hank, Many thanks for your most helpful notes, and I can see from where you are "coming from" to reach your conclusions and, as I have said, I fully concur with them, but I cannot agee with your starting point. For I believe that God the Father is still enriching the lives of His children with gifts through the Holy Spirit, YAWAH is still in the saving business and the sustaining of the Body of Believers. It is a fact of historic record that man abuses the gifts of God, I praise my God for His patience with me and my fellowman, may God bless and continue to reveal all truth. I hope that we meet again on the way of life, may I recommend a web site that may help in showing where I am "coming from", www.geocities.com/ian4christ411/ God bless. RJJ |

31 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | RJJ | 93269
Hello DAIRYLEADER5, many thanks for your reply, although NOT one of the scriptures given refer or confirm your statement. I believe that this will explain the faith that Jesus saw in the blind man Faith Christianity. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will. I have searched many translations, may I know the one you have used because I may not have it. With all good grace. |

32 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | RJJ | 93343
Hello gracefull, May I humbly ask you to read again my post, for I attack no one and do not attack the God given teaching regarding Faith. Leaders of the Word of Faith Movement use the Scriptures to attack the faith of the sick and the poor that they are sick and poor because, not for their lack of faith, but they have not reached the right level of faith which is not in Holy Scripture. If you need proof then read post #92081 and the strings that result. God bless. |

33 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | RJJ | 93351
Hello L.D.S As the Author of the original post I MUST now speak, I did not speak sooner out of respect for John Reformed. L.D.S please do not feel under attack it is the teachings that has to be addresed, and if these teachings are scriptual then they can be defended using Holy Scripture. See 2 Tim 4:2 God Bless, and may the peace that passes all understanding be ours. RJJ |

34 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | RJJ | 94807
Hello Figgy this is RJJ, the author of the post that started this debate. May I thank you for your posts, they were a blessing to read. The passion and the love that it contained was inspired and I hope that we will have the pleasure of reading more, may the Holy Spirit continue to work in, and through you. May the blessings of God flow in your life and mine. SHALOM RJJ. |

35 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | RJJ | 94880
L.D.S since starting this string I have read all your posts, thank you. I praise God for what He is doing in your life and for the zeal that you have for the defense of the Gospel, something that is close to my own heart, I still believe that all that is needed is faith to receive the grace of God for all that you may need, and Trust in the Sovereign Will of God, HIS will NOT mine. How do we know the will of God other than reading His Word, all other is the interpretation of man, the biggest problem with this is that man is corrupt. I would recommend the post by FIGGY# 93411 for further study, you will find them challenging. May the Father continue His work in your life and mine, God bless. Shalom. RJJ |

36 | Jesus will give you rest | Matt 11:29 | RJJ | 94849
Helle Fran1946, It is an old farming tradition that when you want to train a young ox,or horse, to pull a cart, or plough, you yoke them together with the oldest wisest one and one will learn from the other. We must learn to be like Jesus, and then we will be able to "take the land". |
||||||
37 | His Yoke? | Matt 11:29 | RJJ | 95838
May I say ,what would you WILLINGLY learn from a yoke of authority slavery or discipleship? Look beyond the yoke and you will find the qualities that will give you His rest. Jesus wants us to be like Him. Something different than the people of this world, the second coming is not far off, will Jesus know His sheep? SHALOM. RJJ |

38 | God and the Suffering Saint. Pt 2 | Matt 11:29 | RJJ | 96739
Hello Makarios, greetings in the Lords name. Thank you for your post, and lets not forget that our Lord Himself experienced the greatest suffering. In our world today we may have changed the understanding regarding suffering, about its stresses, its poverty, its humiliation , and to name the diseases but despite how we describe it, suffering is still suffering. All praise to the God we serve, a God that knows by experience what suffering means. How much more is the suffering must be for those who do not know the Love of God. SHALOM. RJJ |

39 | WHERE IS YOUR COMPASSION? | Matt 16:6 | RJJ | 90744
I will treat this post with the contempt it deserves, you answer my question with silence a state that would be appreciared by many. As this Forum deals in study of the Bible and is NOT a pulpit, may I offer the Book of JOB as a good place to start your retraining, may The Holy Spirit be kind to you. RJJ |

40 | WHERE IS YOUR COMPASSION? | Matt 16:6 | RJJ | 90837
You seem cofused in your postings, I hope this helps. My first posting #90497 asked you to explain your statement in #90481. Your reply #90632 I found disgraceful and you were, and still are, silent on the request to explain your statment "if anyone asks". I hope that this is clear enough for you to answer or is the Bible reference to empty jars relevent? We await your answer. RJJ |
