21 | Speaking in Tongue | Acts 2:4 | ItsMe | 160941
Thank you. I hear people argue the speaking by using one of the Bible comments about it - you know, like - there has to be an interpreter. I know in Venezuela God truly blessed me and amazed a lot of other people! Thanks for your comments.
22 | Speaking in Tongue | Acts 2:4 | ItsMe | 160947
I was healed in this day and age. I had Lupus and I was becoming more and more crippled. I could give lots of details but that is not what this note is about. A woman I did not know asked me if she could pray for me. I thought of my mental list of people and situations that I was going to ask her to pray for and felt prompted to ask her to pray about my arthritic like pains. I was not about to tell a total stranger that I had the uncurable Lupus. She started praying and I found myself praying with her. Then I stood up, straight, and walked around. and praised God. Now, I too was not sure so I thought it was a temporary reprieve. Every morning for weeks I would wake expecting it to be another day when my legs did not want to work well or one of those days when they did not work at all, and each day I would get out of bed and say, thank You. Still thinking it was temporary. My doctor continued to run tests every 3 months for a couple of years, now she does them annually. She just chuckles with the results and tells me, no sign of Lupus and I say, I did not expect there would be. I am almost 60 and I have a little arthritis now. But I carry my 1 and 2 year old Grandchildren, often 2 at a time and I race with my older Grandsons, they beat me, and I climb trees. And praise God when I am up there. I think I am more active than most my age. I still work full time so I am not taking it easy. God healed me. I have no doubt. You do not know me so you do not have to believe it or understand it, but I believe in it now. Why me.. I do not know. I agree with you that many people will never speak in tongues and God can be just as close to them. It is a gift I did not want or expect and I received it. And many of my friends do not want it and that is OK. I may have received it because I doubted it so much. As you said, we are still members of a fellowship that goes beyond those things though. |

23 | is smoking a sin? | 1 Cor 6:12 | ItsMe | 161255
1 Corinthians 10:31 sums it up - "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." There are many verses about doing things that are harmful to our bodies (His temple). I can always go back to this one though - it's how I quit smoking. It wasn't hurting anybody but me - and then I realized - it did not glorify God, it took away from my witness. And bringing up the over eating issue - one wrong won't justify another. If I lie but I see my neighbor steal and I point that out - well, we are back to Matt 7:3 - Why do you see the splinter in your brothers eye but don't see the wooden beam in your own eye." If you have any concern over something you are doing - does it glorify God? Also, is the Holy Spirit trying to speak to you about the issue. I've found when I have asked - if it's wrong, let me know - I almost always feel His clarification quickly. Sometimes I almost hear Him say - "If you have to ask..." On the other hand, if you are asking about something being a sin, because someone else is doing it - remember the beam verse. Pray for them but don't point that finger. |

24 | is smoking a sin? | 1 Cor 6:12 | ItsMe | 161269
I had the original question up when I responded. I looked at the string, as I always do, afterwards, and saw it attached to yours. So I pulled up the original again, and sent it, and it attached correctly.
25 | Need help with adultry and remarriage. | 1 Cor 7:11 | ItsMe | 161933
Many people use the bible to their advantage. My first thought is that this man took you and isn't really worried about living according to scripture. Hopefully he has been truly repentant. When you say you became involved, I take it you mean sexually. If you are a believer, and know what you did is wrong, you are on the road to healing. Pray, read the Word. Ask God for forgiveness and to reveal what He wants for you. God forgives adultery. If you believe it was wrong and you really want His forgiveness, He will give it. Don't worry about supporting this man in his belief. Stay away from him. Severe all ties. Let God wash that past away in His time. Seek Him with your whole heart. When you meet other men, they should meet all biblical standards before you consider them. And don't let them just say it. You need to see Christ in them. Ask for God's man. I thought I was very "in love" at one time. We often spent hours discussing the Bible, pouring over the Bible. I prayed often for God's will and God's man. Getting ready for church one Sunday I felt God tell me he wasn't it and I had to break it off. I argued with God for a long time that morning. I ended with - Your will, Father. Somehow managed to go to church, sit with this gentleman, and even have lunch with him. I didn't tell him my experience. I did make myself to busy for awhile and soon he moved on. I was lonely but knew it was God's will. I wasn't even sure that this man wouldn't come back into my life. A few years later, on my wedding day, I remembered that experience! And thanked God, for the man He brought me. In answer to your last question - yes, it matters that the man is truly living for God. Sexual sin happens even between Christians - so beware. If you can put God first, the rest will follow. God bless you!
