21 | WHo was the sons of Joseph | Gen 48:1 | sonofmom | 221934
Hello, cherrylover, Welcome. I think the first verse of Genesis 48 should answer your question: And it came to pass after these things, that [one] told Joseph, Behold, thy father [is] sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. |

23 | ADULTRY VS BIGAMY #3 | Ex 21:10 | sonofmom | 221931
In marrying more than one woman, Solomon was going against God’s revealed will regarding monogamy From the very beginning God created one woman for one man (see Genesis 1:27; 2:21-25). Deuteronomy 17:17 explicitly instructed the king not to “multiply wives.” |

24 | Why Jesus crucified ouside city gates? | Num 19:11 | sonofmom | 221796
Hello sallyeo This perhaps could be because of the strictness of Jewish laws regarding the proximity of dead bodies to the living. Coming into contact with a dead body meant a period of ritual cleansing for uncleanness (Numbers 19:11-22). Happy Resurrection Day! |

25 | Is The Quote In The Bible? Where? | Deut 23:18 | sonofmom | 231996
Deuteronomy 23:18 seems to be the right verse, but not the only verse. per the King James, "Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God. " The hire of a whore, meaning, the money she gets by her whoring, and the price of a dog, that is, of the Sodomite, pimp, or whoremaster (for such are called dogs in Rev. 22:15). The money gained by lewd and unlawful practices, shall by no means be brought into the house of the Lord for any vow. What this is saying, is that God would not accept of any offering at all from such wicked people; if they had nothing to bring for an offering other than what they got through the practice of wickedness, then their sacrifice could not but be an abomination to the Lord, Prov. 15:8. So, to beware of the man with the price of a dog (having it in his pocket must mean he would be looking to spend it) would mean to me that if it is not good enough to put in the offering plate at church, then if I were to accept it, possibly as wages, or trade, I would be partaking in what the Lord considers an abomination. And that, good pastor, is plenty to beware of. May the true God of the Bible richly bless you as you serve Him. -Son |

26 | soul in Heaven or Hell? | Judges | sonofmom | 221858
Hi Shellpie, As a Baptist, I would guess that you have heard the three parables in the 25th chapter of Matthew. Jesus is teaching His disciples in this 'farewell trilogy' that the date and time of His return is not the issue. What IS important is how we will conduct ourselves up until that time. (One good pastime would be to read and study His Word) So we can look to the 20th chapter of Revelation for God's disclosure on whether everyone will be gone at the rapture. Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. (Rev 20:1-3) So This is by all accounts, after the rapture. And, it says that the devil must be released for a short time, when the thousand years are over and verse 8 tells us the reason: he is to go out and deceive the nations. My understanding is that there are believers in the world after the rapture, and the devil must be turned loose in order to try to deceive them. son |

28 | What is Ezekial 28:11-17 and Isiah 14:12 | Ezekiel | sonofmom | 231929
Ezekial 14:12 is believed by many to be talking directly to satan, and I believe the reasons are clear. The chapter begins by talking to the prince of Tyrus (as the KJV has it) but then in the 12th verse, the tone changes abruptly and starts addressing the king of Tyrus. it says, "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God" (vs 13) And then he is called, "the anointed cherub who covers" There is no earthly king who fits this decription. And, yes, the passage in Isaiah is understood to be about the same fallen angel. blessings to you, son |

29 | Is any of this true? | 1 Thess 4:1 | sonofmom | 222092
Greetings, Curious What is more important than Where to Read about the answer, is where will you be when the question is finally answered ?? Your question IS old news to be sure, as the question has been asked many times since the first century, and after reading Pastor Beja's fine answer, we can tell that the answer has not yet been discovered. This is God's plan: that no one will know the day or the hour. (Matt 25:13) There is much small talk around bar-b-ques and campfires about end times, and when you line up their answers with what God's Word says, they are all proven false. Let me use the recent interest in the year 2012 for example. There is nothing special about the Mayan culture that would give them any insight far into the future, they were very good observers of astronomy and developed a good calendar. They just happened to stop the calendar at 2012. So, do ot be deceived along with the many who will be deceived in the end times. An increase in false messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters—these are all signs of the end times. (Matt 24:5-8) When people are saying, "All is well; everything is peaceful and secure," then disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman's birth pains begin when her child is about to be born. And there will be no escape. (1 Thes 5:3) So the present earthquakes and volcanoes are a sign of the second coming of Christ. But as the Scriptures say, these will increase until He comes. Whoever has children knows that the labor pains of a woman increase in intensity and in frequency until the child is born, and there is only one thing that will end the cycle: The child is born. Jesus tells us in (Matt 24:24), "For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great miraculous signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones." So you are correct in your decision to seek God's Word for an answer. Pray before you read His Word, and He will be the one to guide. There are many heretics out there so we must all remain aware. May the Lord bless you as you seek Him |

30 | widows rights | 1 Tim 5:3 | sonofmom | 222164
Hi Diomede, Yes you are right in your assumption that God was concerned about these widows being looked after. Also God wants no one to be taken advantage of, and much less does He want His people to take advantage of others Now. Was that necessary? We must analyze the cultural recognition that women typically beheld during that historical period. Women were most often treated as second class citizens as to the point of their word was no good in the court of law, without the testimony of two witnesses to reinforce it. This would have been a very difficult climate in which to succeed in a private business venture, much unlike the 'glass ceiling' that is being purported today. |
