21 | Answering Anti-Missionary Arguements | Is 7:9 | mbooker | 63465
12. In Mark 6:5, it says that Yeshua "could do no miracle". However, Mark 10:27 says that "with G-d, all things are possible". Which is it? But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. Mark 6:4-5 In Matthew's account it gives the reason Jesus could not do might work: And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matt 13:57-58 The people's unbelief was the problem. Considering the bible truth that Jesus 'did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief' and Mark 10:27, 'With God, all things are possible', I was lead to this scripture: Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23 Thus I see no contradition between Mark 6:5 and Mark 10:27. Abba Father Bless... Meredith |

Revelation 1:13-15 "And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters." |

23 | Can I choose where to tithe? | Mal 3:10 | mbooker | 60262
Once a friend asked if they should take the tithe and help someone who needed money for something. My advice to them was 'no' because Mal 3 says to bring the tithe to the storehouse. Currently, I equate my local church with the storehouse in Mal 3. I haven't yet found in scripture where the tithe was given to someone who was in greater need instead of bringing it to the storehouse (church). I think I also suggested that they help out as best they could but give the tithe to their church. Abba Father Bless... |

24 | Where to give tithes? | Mal 3:10 | mbooker | 60272
Oh ok... I see First I would ask if you are sure your current church is where God has lead you to be. I would wonder, especially since you said you don't see God's work being supported by the tithes. If, however, you are sure that your current church is where you are to be, then my advice would be to give it to that church. Otherwise, seek God's guidance as to where you are to be... then give your tithes there. Abba Father Bless... |

25 | question about confrontation | Matthew | mbooker | 66813
Yes Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Matthew 18:15-17 |

26 | What's the Second greatest" commandment? | Matt 22:34 | mbooker | 94510
Matt 22:34-40 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. NIV |

28 | is jesus god? | John 1:1 | mbooker | 56446
This is how I look at the question: God, the Father is father. Jesus, the Son is son of the Father. If the father is God, does that make his son God? Well, if my father is a Booker, that makes me a Booker. I'm not the most high Booker but I am a Booker none the less. Likewise, if Jesus's father is God (and he is), that makes him a God. Not The Most High God, but still a God. Just how I see it. :) If my view needs correcting, just bring on the correcting tool (the Word of God). blessings to you all... :) |

29 | Resume the faith , what is it ? | Romans | mbooker | 65357
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. KJV Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. NIV So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself). Amp Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news--the Good News about Christ. NLT |

30 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | mbooker | 56695
boy oh boy!! this is some subject!! I know a man who visited our church and he was upset because the pastor did not immediately water baptize those that came forward to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. At our church, baptism is done on the 3rd Sunday. I make the distinction of 'water' baptism because so far in scripture I have seen 3 different agents used in baptism. water: John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; John 1:26 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matt 3:11 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Luke 3:16 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. John 1:33 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1:5 Holy Ghost/fire: I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matt 3:11 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Luke 3:16 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. John 1:33 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1:5 the body of Christ: For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Cor 12:13 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 3:27 Having said all that :) My question(s)/comment(s) are these: I will not use a hypothetical. I am going to use myself. I came forward and accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour but I was not immediately baptized. It was a couple of weeks later (that 3rd Sunday evening at 6 pm :) ). Now, given my case, since I was not water baptized immediately after making my confession, was I being disobedient to God? If God commands that after we believe, we get baptized immediately, was my getting water baptized weeks later done in vain? btw, I am ASSURED of my salvation and KNOW without a doubt that I am born from above, so my post is simply to get feed back on the questions that popped in my head after reading through this thread. I also hope that 'we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ' Abba Father bless each and every one of you... |

31 | DELIVER MY MIND | Rom 12:2 | mbooker | 57349
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. 32 | What love is or isn't? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 57172
I Corinthians 13:4-13a is one biblical definition: Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. Amplified version |

33 | Does God forgive you for divorce | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59211
Good Morning Ames I Corinthians 7 may be one passage of scripture that can help you. I don't know if your husband is a believer or not but vv13-15 may help answer your question: And if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he consents to live with her, she should not leave or divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is set apart (separated, withdrawn from heathen contamination, and affiliated with the Christian people) by union with his consecrated (set-apart) wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart and separated through union with her consecrated husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean (unblessed heathen, outside the Christian covenant), but as it is they are prepared for God [pure and clean]. But if the unbelieving partner [actually] leaves, let him do so; in such [cases the remaining] brother or sister is not morally bound. But God has called us to peace. Amp Malachi 2 may be a passage you could read also. Especially vv 14-16: Yet you ask, Why does He reject it? Because the Lord was witness [to the covenant made at your marriage] between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously and to whom you were faithless. Yet she is your companion and the wife of your covenant [made by your marriage vows]. And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God make you two] one? Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one deal treacherously and be faithless to the wife of his youth. For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]. Amp Abba Father Bless you... |

34 | please, where do races come from ? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59214
Good Morning Tim Here is a scripture: And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), Acts 17:26 But if your friend thinks the bible is 'bunk', I'm not sure giving her scriptures from the bible will help her receive the truth. Acts 16:14, tells us of Lydia 'whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul' KJV. While Lydia was already a worshipper of God and your friend isn't(I'm assuming here :)! ), maybe you could pray that God would open her heart as He opened Lydia's. Abba Father Bless... |

36 | What is meant by praying in the spirit? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59233
Here is what I understand to be praying in the spirit: For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody]. Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also. 37 | How do we deal with PRODIGALS? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 65728
… the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 Love never fails... 1 Corinthians 13:8 Show forth the love of God to your prodigal Love endures long and is patient and kind; … it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]… Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Be patient toward your prodigal Be kind toward your prodigal Do not take account of the evil done by your prodigal Bear up under whatever your prodigal may do Be ready to believe the best of your prodigal Continue to hope against the odds that your prodigal will come home … the goodness of God leads you to repentance Romans 2:4 Show forth the goodness of God to your prodigal For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2 Timothy 2:12 Commit your prodigal to the Lord and believe that He is able to keep them |

38 | How would this apply to times of slavery | 1 Cor 7:21 | mbooker | 64524
v 21 seems to dispute the notion that slaves (or at the VERY least slaves who became believers) should remain slaves if the opportunity for freedom showed itself. Are you a slave? Don't let that worry you--but if you get a chance to be free, take it. NLT Were you a slave when you were called? Do not let that trouble you. But if you are able to gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity. Amp |
