22 | sin is a sin? | 1 John 3:1 | dasev | 39812
dear dan, sin is not good , even pilfering an "extra" 5 minutes on the break. see james 2:10. an important consideration when considering ones spiritual condition is "am i repenting of the sins that i still find myself doing?" when we stop fighting the battle an cave into sin we are in danger. but if we are through faith in Christ counseling and confessing sin and praying for strength and for deliverance then we can be confident that Jesus forgives us, and that we are in the Way, Truth, and our life is hid in His Life. Simply put the Wisdom of GOD would have us practise repenence not pratise sin. this is very clearly the response of the heart of the man of faith, it absolutely necessary to salvation and the daily assurance of salvation. it is as the team colors on God's side are "faith" and "repentance". nothing could be clearer than this. your servant dasev

BE UNASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL, AND UNASHAMED OF THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS THE MESSIAH. do not practise bigotry, avoid prejudgements and presumptions like the plague. so things you discern you must keep to your self, others must be spoken. BE SLOW TO SPEAK SLOW TO ANGER (and sin not) AND QUICK TO LISTEN. AND A HUNDRED HUNDRED OTHER THINGS in general and specific. STUDY THE BIBLE let God by His spirit pour His living Word into your dusty heart. live in His presence , trust that the words of his chosen authors are true True, TRUE! avoid meaningless talk, gossip shun, don't strain at gnats, especially as there are so many camels that the devil dresses up like sirloin. BLESS GOD, don't curse Him. when in doubt don't do it. need more? |

29 | What is the context of the Sermon otm? | Matthew | dasev | 38539
dear h2o, as long as this is not for your doctoral thesis i'll try to get a "flow" goin' for ya. yes, certainly the kingdom or government of God and His righteousness are a if not the main theme of the sermon on the mount. in any kingdom one will find a king and his subjects. Jesus is King and we are His subjects. "Thou art Worthy o Lord for Thou hast created all things"- like us - "and for Thy pleasure they are created..." when we are found and saved by God and we begin to seek His Kingdom and Righteousness we can rightfully begin to participate in the earthly part of his Kingdom the Church. it is here we grow in grace as we repent and believe and die daily. the Bible is given to us the most precious earthly possession we can own. all other things that you or i need are added to us as we are faithful to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1: 2 to 4 say as much or more, and verses 5 to 11 expand the theme wonderfully. the Sermon on the Mount ties together the Lord's fulfillment of the law, what it means to us in our inner man, how we should seek the reality of God's Kingdom on earth, and seek to behave as we are naked before His eyes. it also warns us that it is a straight entrance we must go through and a narrow road we must walk on which will lead us to life. we must dig DEEP and build on the Rock. |

31 | How does a person submit to God? | Gen 2:20 | dasev | 38509
dear h.w., one possible meaning of the word "submit" is kiss. to kiss someone, i.e. God; one would have to be one intimate terms with Him. Get to know God through prayer, and through Scripture study. The more you know of God the more you can choose to obey His will. the more obedience the more intimacy. remember the Lord eventually called the disciples his friends, and that because he shared knowledge of his will with them. John 15:15 wot say ye? dasev

34 | How do we attain righteousness? | Matthew | dasev | 38488
dear dave r., our small but vital role is to obey God from the heart Rom. 6:17. Romans 6: 11 to 22 is an excellent text on this question. God in Christ has done the rest. we just walk in obedience to Him. |

35 | How does what you say link into the Serm | Matthew | dasev | 38478
dear h2o, here is another view of the sermon otm. Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets. matt5:17,18 this first major speech of the new covenant can be seen as a primer of the Lord's mission in that time and of the believer's need of instruction. many times the Lord Jesus said "you have heard that it was said...". then He went on to quote the law and then to give the meaning the study of the law might give the thoughtful jew. the pharisees had missed the point of the law and made it a meaningless ritual. Jesus brings things into sharp focus to the inner man if we will to hear and learn. and if we will then we will be the salt of the earth and known to be a healthy necessary ingredient in the earth's "diet"; and we will seen to be the light of the world, exposing all things for what they are, see ephesians 5:8 to 14 the rewards, the blessings, and the character traits necessary to their attainment are found first in matt. ch. 5:1 to 16. this is how it seems to me....wot say ye? in Christ, dasev |

36 | How do you know the unity of the spirit? | Gen 2:20 | dasev | 38466
dear hw, the "unity of the SPIRIT" i would submit, be known in the experience of marrieds and singles alike by having the mind of Christ. this is found several times in pauls letters, phillipians for one. it is i would submit particularly important for the husband to pursue the mind (the thougts, the reasonings) of the Lord); and for the wife to support her husband in this. perhaps the characteristic that will most clearly indicate success is humility. humility is the fertile ground for any Godly relationship; certainly of marriage. "wot say ye?" in Christ, dasev |

IF WHATEVER IS NOT OF FAITH IS SIN, ROMANS 14:23, DOUBTING THE SURETY OF PUNISHMENT FOR ANY SIN SEEMS AN ODD PREOCCUPATION. SIN REQUIRED THE BLOOD OF CHRIST THAT IT BE FORGIVEN. THAT SOME SIN NOW BE DECLARED A "FREEBIE" IS WHAT CUASED HEBREWS 10:26 TO BE WRITTEN. |

39 | Explain "the word of His power"Heb1:3 | Heb 1:3 | dasev | 35551
GODS POWER IS NOT LIMITED TO OUR SPEAKING OR NOT SPEAKING. THE FERVERENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS AVAILETH MUCH. BUT WE DID NOT CREATE NOR DO WE UPHOLD THE UNIVERSE, EVEN BY SPEAKING GODS WORD. THERE IS THE GIFT OF PROPHECY WHEREBY GOD SPEAKS HIS WORD THROUGH THE PROPHET, AND THERE ARE THOSE WHO HAVE THE GIFT OF MIRACLES BY WHOM GOD ACTS HIS WILL, BUT THESE AND OTHER THINGS ARE OF DIVINE ORIGIN AND WE SIMPLY HAVE THE PRIVELEDGE AND PLEASURE TO HAVE THEM PASS THROUGH US TO THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD.
