21 | In the fullness of time! | NT general | Vintage68 | 215027
Hi humility Everything you say is true. But I dont believe God could. Look at it this way, if you throw a rock into a pond, the ripples will go out until the fullness of time when they reach the shore. Is there any way of stopping those ripples that you have set into motion by your action? Likewise there was not any way of stopping those ripples through time that Adam had set into motion. Everything had to be acted out the way it was for Jesus to be born at the fullness of time. That is how far reaching Adams act of disobedience was. Vintage68 |

22 | does this fall into narcissism? | NT general | Vintage68 | 215379
Hi walkwithme It does not mean anything when you apply it to mental health. The Bible ( Word of God ) speaks to the Spiritual Health of the believer. James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Vintage68 |

23 | Who supported Paul financially? | NT general | Vintage68 | 215468
Hi Mathaytes I think this should pretty well answer your question. It seems as though in 1 Corinthians 9 Paul voices his views to the Corinthians (gentiles). 1.) Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 2.) If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. 3.) Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 4.) Have we not power to eat and to drink? 5.) Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 6.) Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 7.) Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 8.) Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 9.) For it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 10.) Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11.) If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 12.) If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 13.) Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 14.) Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 15.) But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 16.) For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17.) For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 18.) What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 19.) For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20.) And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21.) To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22.) To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23.) And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. But there is scripture in, 3 John 1:7 that says something more on the matter, giving you a broader picture of how he was supported. 1.) The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 2.) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3.) For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. 4.) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 5.) Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; 6.) Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: 7.) Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. 8.) We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth. Lastly we see Paul working physically, Acts 18:1-3 1.) After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 2.) And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. 3.) And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. Hope this Helps Vintage68 |

24 | books that are not pauls | NT general | Vintage68 | 215507
Hi LJ777 These are the books that are accredited to Paul, although there are some scholars that disagree as to who wrote some of them, I am of the belief, that Paul did write all of these books. On the grounds, first, they have been added into the canon of scripture with his name as author. Second, it really doesn't matter if he wrote them or not, because they are in the bible, and they are not about ready to be taken out. So taking this list, going to your own bible, you can find out for yourself which ones he did not write. Romans - 1 Corinthians - 2 Corinthians - Galatians - Ephesians - Philippians - Colossians - 1 Thessalonians - 2 Thessalonians - 1 Timothy - 2 Timothy - Titus - Philemon. Hebrews, Vintage68 |

27 | what does sons of God refer to. | Gen 6:2 | Vintage68 | 215330
Hi -shane-- There are actually two answers to that question. The first answer is according to the scripture, The Sons of God, are the Angels. Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? The second answer is also according to the scripture. The Sons of God are, The Saved, The Redeemed The Believers in Christ. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. As you can see, it would depend upon where in scripture you were reading. Vintage68 |

29 | Where is this date from? | Gen 7:12 | Vintage68 | 215020
Hi BMyers Thank you for your question, in going back to give you an answer I found I had made a mistake, the following will explain. This date isn't actually from the creation of Adam. The date would have to be, from when they had to leave the garden. That would have to be when time actually did start for mankind. Because there is no way of telling how long Adam, and Eve were in the garden, before they were expelled. Time could only be calculated from the time they became fully mortal. Sorry ;-( I had a massive miscalculation. When adding all the ages, I inadvertently added the ages at the time of each death, instead of the ages at the time of each first sons birth. "oops" Therefore the date that I now come up with is ( 1656 ) For date of FLOOD This is my only source of information, for these calculations. Gen.5:3-32 3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: 4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: 5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. 6And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos: 7And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters: 8And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died. 9And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan: 10And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters: 11And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died. 12And Cainan lived seventy years and begat Mahalaleel: 13And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters: 14And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died. 15And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared: 16And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters: 17And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died. 18And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch: 19And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 20And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died. 21And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 22And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. 25And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech. 26And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: 27And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. 28And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: 29And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed. 30And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters: 31And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died. 32And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Gen. 7:11,12 11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. again sorry for the mess up Vintage68 |

31 | Why did God tell Abraham to kill his son | Gen 22:2 | Vintage68 | 214878
Hi bibleman From what took place at the end of that story about Abraham, we can determine that God did not have any intention in letting Abraham go through with the sacrifice of his son. If Abraham did not do what God had said, he would have failed the test. Thereby no death of Isaac. But in the last second, when Abraham had determined in his heart, to sacrifice his son, to God. That is when God stopped him, providing a sacrifice instead of Isaac. No death of Isaac God knows the thoughts, and intentions of the heart, when Abraham fully intended to carry out what he had been commanded to do by God, that is when he was stopped. His intent then was not to kill any chances of Gods promise of coming to fruition, but rather his intention was to trust in God, and the promise, in spite of any doubt he may have had. Obedience is better than sacrifice, especially in this case. 1 Chronicles 28:9 Romans 8:27 Vintage68 |

36 | Should we dedicate older children to Him | 1 Sam 1:28 | Vintage68 | 216802
Hi Searcher56 As close as I can come in scripture, to the dedication of children to the Lord, would be. Samuel 1 Sam. 1:11-28, Samson Judges 13:1-25, John the Baptist 1 Luke 1:-80 These were all dedicated to the Lord, by their parents. In looking closely at these stories, they are VOWS taken by the parent for the child. Is that something that a parent of today is prepared for? All 3 women were barren, all 3 children were Nazarites. It also seems as though God innitiated the dedication in all 3 instances. Vintage68 |

37 | Do we understand suffering in delighting | Ps 37:4 | Vintage68 | 215833
Hi Mommapbs Does God truly give us the bitter cup, for His glory? Are we to use Jesus as our example, for accepting physical, mental suffering? Jesus in the garden, submitting Himself to the will of God. Jesus knew what the plan of redemption was, He was not demonstrating to us how we are to accept disease, illness, physical suffering into our lives. He was accepting the will of God into His life, in order to complete the work He was sent to do here on earth. He was going to be taking upon Himself all of the sins of the world, as well as all of the sicknesses, diseases. That night in the garden, He was truly 100 percent flesh, with all of it's frailties, fears. We hear in His own words the anguish He was feeling, the same as we have all felt, being alone. He was being tempted to run away from tomorrow. As a man He did not want to go through with what lay before Him, He had to pray as a man for Gods will to be done. He had come to the point we all must come to, being totally alone in the world. He had to have Faith in God, that He would do what He had promised. Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness. (Jas.2:23) Jesus believed God, so that we would become the righteousness of God in Christ. (Rom.3:22) We are to believe God, to complete the work He has begun (Phil.1:6) Vintage68 |

38 | Truth and Wisdom | Ps 51:6 | Vintage68 | 217521

39 | Truth apart from wisdom? | Ps 51:6 | Vintage68 | 217527
Hi moma Define truth, as you are using it. Wisdom, is the culmination of Knowledge, and Understanding. Lev 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. Pro 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. The hoary head is white hair, to be found in the aged, who over the course of their lifetime, have gained Knowledge, understanding, of the Holy, and have attained the right to sit in the gates of the city speaking Wisdom. Pro 2:1 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 40 | talk with lord | Prov 3:5 | Vintage68 | 215328
Hi Rajeeb It is plain to see that you take your religion seriously. Let me introduce you to the one true God, so you can worship intelligently, knowing truly what the will of God is for your life. It is possible to know God, the creator of heaven and earth personally. He does not live in shrines, or temples made with hands, there is nothing in this entire world, we could even think of using, as a suitable substitute, or representation of what God is, because He has created everything. There is no other God comparable unto Him, He is "The One true God!" God overlooks our ignorance, but that time has now past for you. God is revealing Himself to you out of His word, (The Bible). The unknown is now becoming known to you, and he's calling for a radical life change. Let me introduce you to, The King of Kings, The Lord of Lords, The Prince of Peace. Jesus Christ! You ask to know the will of God for your life. The will of God is the same for everyone. This is what GOD has said about His will for you ! Luke 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. 1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. (Jesus) You can see from these scriptures, that God is telling you who Jesus is. You cannot come to the Father, taking His Knowledge, Understanding, and His Wisdom, without taking His Son Jesus Christ with it, that is most definitely "Not" The Will of God for your life. Jesus Himself has this to say. John 10:1 Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The only way to know God personally, is to accept His Son Jesus, as your savior, by having Gods Holy Spirit living inside of you, teaching you what the will of God is for you. I am sure everyone here at the forum, will be praying for your eyes to be fully opened to the Truth. May The Father grant unto you the knowledge of His Son. Let us know how you are doing. Stay in touch. Vintage68 |
