21 | what about the Jewish feasts | Hebrews | Taleb | 102047
Concerning "the Sabbath" - Colossians 2:17 spells it out, as does other epistles. What one does on the yearly or monthly feasts, or on the sabbath were but a shadow of things to come; the reality is Christ. Blessings again, Taleb |

22 | what about the Jewish feasts | Hebrews | Taleb | 102043
Again, I refer you to the Book of Hebrews. It doesn't take long. I suggest you read it outloud to yourself and pay particular attention to what the author says about REPLACING the old with the new. Jesus annulled the Levitical priesthood AND the law it served because of its weakness AND uselessness, for the law brought nothing to perfection. BUT a BETTER HOPE has supervended, and through IT we draw near to God." (Hebrews 7:18-19) Hebrews 8:8-9 "If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no place for a second one. BUT GOD, finding fault with them ..." As a P.S., I will quote from Galatians (another great book that points out our freedom FROM the old). Gal. 3:19--"What is the relevance of the law, in such cases? It was given in view of trangressions and promulgated by angels, at the hands of a mediator; it WAS TO BE VALID ONLY UNTIL that descendant or offspring came to whom the promise had been given." Jesus Christ, the risen and coming again Son of God IS THAT descendant or offspring promised. Blessings, Taleb |

23 | there is no jewishness in the church why | Hebrews | Taleb | 101931
The whole book of Hebrews answers your question with precision. For an exact answer that is also brief, take Hebrew 10:8-9 “First, Jesus said, ‘Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings AND sin offerings You (God the Father) neither desired nor delighted in.’ (although the law required them to be made). Then Jesus said, ‘Here I am. I have come to do Your will.' Jesus SETS ASIDE the first to establish the second.” If Jesus set the first (the Jewish aspects of worship and sacrifice) to establish the second, WHY, pray tell would anyone want to reinstate it? It is obsolete and has no value period. Respectfully, Taleb |

24 | was abraham ever a gentile? | Genesis | Taleb | 101745
Even today, when someone "converts" to Judaism they are “proclaimed” to be the son, or daughter, of Abraham and Sarah and welcomed AS a Hebrew. The Jews accept the born into and the converted into - AS A "FULL JEW" - with NO hesitation. The reason why the converts become “children” of Abraham is because before God called Abraham TO BE the father of the Hebrews, and Sarah, the mother of the Hebrews, Abraham and Sarah were both “Gentiles”. As were ALL their forefathers. That is the reason why Jesus often mentioned things to the Jews about "their father Abraham". The premese is Abraham and Sarah WERE FIRST GENTILE and they BECAME THE FIRST Hebrews. This is the basis for how anyone of any nationality can "BECOME a Hebrew". Interestingly, the converstion is by being immerse into water three times. (Sound familiar?) Taleb |

25 | Why was there fourteen sheep on ark? | Genesis | Taleb | 99593
TommyS, if you are studying about the flood, forget ANY and ALL preconceived notions that have been erroneously been peddled for years. Like what? Like, how could it have taken Noah 120 years to build the ark? God instructed Noah to build an ark for him, his wife, his three sons and their wives. Shem was the oldest son, and AFTER the flood, at the age of 100, Shem had a son. Ask any person on the street, “How many of each animal was on the ark?” And they will parrot, “Two. A male and its female.” BUZZ! WRONG! Noah's taking 14 clean, and 4 of each unclean animal did have some significance – How did Noah know anything about which was which, is significant. What was clean or unclean animals to Noah? Some claim that perhaps the clean animals were for food for Noah and his family. BUZZ! Noah and his family, and all the animals ONLY ate produce until AFTER they exited from the ark. Even after the exodus from the ark, God never gave Noah "ANY exemptions” for food (ie, clean or unclean). Gen. 9:3 “EVERY thing that moves, that is alive, IS TO BE FOOD for you. Pigs, lobster etc. And do your math, TommyS. By raining for 40 days and 40 nights, it covered the highest mountain in the world (above sea-level anyway) by 15 cubits of addition water. Really? Because water finds its OWN level, that means 15 cubits AROUND THE GLOBE. That means that there had to be 29,050 FEET of water ABOVE sea level. To get enough rain to cover that area, world wide, how hard did it have to rain? The highest average rainfall in the world today is less than 500 inches, but that takes in an entire year. For the water to cover all the earth with ONLY 40 days and nights, it HAD TO RAIN OVER 725 FEET EVERY DAY. That figures out to be SIX INCHES PER MINUTE! Anyway, there are numerous, other significant facts to be found in those few chapters of Genesis – but, it’s doubtful that you will ever find them in any Sunday School lessons. Keep studying with both eyes open, and you will continue finding answers to verses too many others "never question." :) Good job! Taleb |

26 | Is Matthew 24:14 almost fulfilled yet? | Col 1:23 | Taleb | 99086
My friend, IT already HAS BEEN FULFILLED according to numerous Scriptures. Acts 2:3 “Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews FROM EVERY NATION UNDER HEAVEN. And don’t forget on that particular day that 3,000 people were saved. It doesn’t take a scientist to realize they all went home to their separate countries, and spread the good news. The rest is HIS-story. Romans 1:8 “First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.” Colossians 1:6 “ALL OVER THE WORLD THIS GOSPEL is producing fruit and growing …” Colossians 1:23b “This is the gospel that you heard AND THAT BEEN PROCLAIMED TO EVERY CREATURE UNDER HEAVEN, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. I trust these few samples will help you realize what Jesus MEANT when He told His disciples TO GO INTO ALL THE WORLD – they took it to mean exactly what He said and did. Remember before Jesus was born, Caesar Augustus sent out a decree that ALL THE WORLD SHOULD BE TAXED. All the world that Jesus was talking about is the same "all the world" that Peter and Paul and Luke referred to. Blessings, Taleb |

27 | jewish calander time line for 7 feasts. | Ex 12:2 | Taleb | 98868
zil4god, first of all you have to realize that the Jewish calendar has TWO calendars. There is the civil year, with which they just celebrated their “New Years Days” Rosh Hashanah (a 2 day celebration). The civil year starts with the month called Tishre, which is “our” September and October. On the third day of the New Year is TzomGadalyah (Fast of Gedaliah). 9This 1st month (Tishri) of the “civil year” is the 7th month of the sacred year. Actually, according to the Torah, the seventh month Nisan/Abib begins their sacred calendar.) Then comes Yom Kikkur (Day of Atonement) on the 10th day. Then comes Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) on the 15th through the 21st days is a harvest festival time. Then comes Shemini Atzeret on the 22nd day. Then comes Simhat Torah on the 23rd day. Kislev is their 3rd month of the civil year. Sometimes it has 30 days in it and sometimes they have only 29 days. It is their 9th month of their sacred calendar. This coincides with our Nov and Dec. Hanakkah (which lasts for 8 days) is on the 25th of Kislev. The story of “why” etc. can be found in the books of Maccabees. Purim – the festive festival is in the Jew’s month of Adar – Tannit Ester (Feast of Easter) is the 13th and 14th day. The Pesah (Passover) – A Jewish Celebration of Liberation – is celebrated next. Nisan 15th to 22nd, Nisan takes in the last of March and first of our April. Sivan – the Feast of Weeks – is celebrated on the 6th and 7th day of Sivan (between our May and June. Blessings, Taleb |

28 | Resurrection Witnesses: Seeing Things? | Luke 24:16 | Taleb | 98461
Hank, the Muslims claim that the disciples "were seeing things" explains away what they really saw. Often, like the Jews, Muslim use a Bible verse to "prove" their point. Remember the story of the two on the road to Emmaus, after Jesus arose from His grave? "...but they didn't recognize Jesus" If I told you that I saw someone who had died, and I talked with him and then he suddenly disappeared - Or that a group of us were standing in a room and the door was locked and all of a sudden someone from whose funeral we just came, walked through the wall ... Well, wouldn't you draw the same conclusions as the Muslims claim about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ? _ "You must have imagined it" "How much did YOU have to drink tonight?" While, as believers in the bloody, cruel death of our Lord on that wretched cross, and of His victorous resurrection from the cold grave, we can not, and do not condone such logic, we must understand how Satan can whisper such untruths into their minds. Blessings, Taleb |

29 | Very Literal Translation Anyone? | Jer 33:3 | Taleb | 98458
"Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and inscrutable things you do not know them." is from my Hebrew English Interlinear. This seems to follow the train of thought that the various translations I have in my library proclaim. I probably didn't help much, but... you can always re-ask. :) Taleb |

30 | Islamic View of Crucifixion? | John 1:4 | Taleb | 98455
Hank, Muslims are taught in their Quran Surah 4:157, "And for their saying we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, Son of Mary, the messenger of God: they killed him not nor did they crucify him but they thought they did." Muhammad believed it was inconceivable to him that a prophet of God could undergo such a death as crucifixion. Most Muslim scholars teach that it was not Christ on that cross, it was someone who looked at lot like him. They acknowledge that Chrsit died, he is in heaven, and is expected to return shortly before the judgement. Actually, they believe Jesus to be the "word of God" according to their verse Surah 4:171. They are sooooooo close to truth, but also soooooooo far away too. Taleb. |

32 | Why does Israel use occult symbolism? | 1 Kin 11:6 | Taleb | 98126
TommyS, according to my Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, the six-pointed star used by today’s Israel IS the exact same one used in Byzantine magic texts. One quote from page 507 of that same encyclopedia reads: “It is only in Jewish sources that the interlaced triangles are called ‘Shield of David’, as non-Jewish sources call the symbol the ‘Seal of Solomon.’” Solomon “adopted” it from the Egyptians, as his own occult symbol, when Solomon slid into idolatry and built an altar for Ashteroth (star). Israel Singer’s “Jewish Encyclopedia” page 458 connects Israel’s six-pointed star with the Cabala – satanic rituals and practices. “It stands to reason that the secrets of the theurgic Cabala are not lightly divulged; and yet the Testament of Solomon recently brought to light the whole system of conjuration of angels and demons by which the evil spirits were exorcised; even the magic sign or seal of King Solomon, known to the medieval Jew as the Magen David has been resurrected.” The “Jewish 44 Almanac” explains it has only been since the tenth through the fourteenth centuries that the Seal of Solomon (six-pointed star of Israel) began appearing in Jewish magical texts. Interestingly, the Rothschild family adopted that “symbol” as their coat of arms in 1822. So, while some might claim it is “innocent” – it isn’t innocent at all. No more innocent than reading one’s HORRORscope to see whether or not one should do whatever or not. To quote Julius Lester, a convert to Judaism –“They are many nationalities and tongues-atheists, agnostic, and some who practice Zen meditation and chant Buddhist mantras and sing Hindu hymns. Yet they are Jews. That is what is so confusing to others about being Jewish. It is NOT (caps mine) a belief system or even subscribing to a particular religious practice. It is belonging to a people, not only those living but also those who are not.” Sad, isn’t it. So many claim God favors such as His chosen people. But His Word declares just the opposite. Taleb |

34 | Help on the 69th, 70th Week of Daniel | Dan 9:24 | Taleb | 80071
Amber, just to add a necessary footnote. The erroneous concept about the Jews returning to their “homeland” also is unfounded. EVERY “returning” was written before they already returned. Jesus NEVER said they would come back. None of His disciples said they would come back after the Gentiles drove them out. Nowhere does Scripture say they will return after that final destruction of their nation and their society. EVERY single “promise” of their “future” return had already taken place BEFORE Jesus prophesied their fleeing, which happened in A.D. 70. The Jewish members of my family will tell you the same things, because they also know what the Old and New Testaments say about this topic. Respectfully, Taleb |

35 | Help on the 69th, 70th Week of Daniel | Dan 9:24 | Taleb | 80070
Amber, just like truthfinder explained, it IS DONE, FINISHED, FULFILLED. In order to "get any text" to support a so-called "future happening", like that erroneous doctrine spelled out by too many untaught teachers, you must first ignore Scripture throughout. The ‘fiction” writers talk about a "New" Temple being rebuilt. Where does Scripture talk about such? It doesn’t. It only talks about the destruction of the temple which was destroyed in 70 A.D. The same time and event that Daniel wrote about. Right to the year. The ONLY rebuildings of the Temples is found in Old Testament. Every “promise” of the rebuilding WAS WRITTEN before it was rebuilt. Therefore, and forevermore, those prophecies have been fulfilled. In a failed attempt for the "futuristic's" doctrine to sound feasible, they had to ADD the phoney concept that “one prophecy can have two fulfillments” Really? And where in Scripture can you find such a concept? Their reply says it all. "Well, it isn’t in Scripture, but surely that is what God means." Really? I always thought that God ONLY said what He meant. Reading the New Testament, Hebrews for example, discounts any such false notion about rebuilding a future Temple made with hands. In the Old Testament, BEFORE the rebuilding of the temple that Jesus promised would be destroyed, is the only place it is mentioned. And of course the fulfillment was WHEN IT WAS rebuilt, just as the prophecy said it would be. All the old church historians spells out these well-documented facts. Josephus, for one, an eyewitness to the fulfillment of Daniel 9, is one place to start. Every library should have one. Respectfully Taleb |

36 | Pick prophcies we want, ignore others? | Rev 11:1 | Taleb | 79990
Searcher, wow, you sound like you are ready to burst a blood vessel. Perhaps I should have asked which English Bible translation I am “supposed” to use. My mistake was not quoting one that you use. For that I apologize. I’m grateful I didn’t use one of my many because that would have really confused you. For a small example: Berkley says, “On a wing of horrors shall a desolator come.” The Jerusalem Bible says, “On the wing of the temple will be the disastrous abomination.” King James says, “The spreading of abominations he shall make desolate.” New American says, “On the temple wing shall be the horrible abomination.” The Authorized says, “For the overspreading of abominations he shall make desolate.” New King James says, “On the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate.” New International Version says, “And on the wing, of the temple, he shall set up an abomination that causes desolation.” An American Translation says, “While in their place there shall be a desolating abomination.” The Literal Translation says, “And on the corner of the altar, desolating abominations.” The Hebrew Translation says, “Upon a wing as abominations a desolator even until the end.” There are others with "different" renderings, but I figured these should be sufficient. :) I was wondering about one of your questions. I copied it here for you. “Who gave you the authority to pick and choose which parts of the prophecy of Daniel?” I’m sorry, Searcher; who are you asking this question, ALL of the different translators of the few Bibles I quoted from, or who? One interesting note that you should be happy to notice is the word “WING” used in the above Scriptures. Which Strong’s 3671 do you feel “fits” best? The one in 1 Samuel 24:4, 5,11 where it talks about the CORNER (3671) of Saul’s robe, or 2 Kings 8:6 where it talks about the WINGS (3671) of the cherubims, or perhaps the one in Job 37:3 where it mentions the ENDS (3671) of the earth? Fascinating, isn’t it, the fact that the Romans used an EAGLE as their symbol. The fact that the Roman Army had EAGLE bearers. The fact that the 3-D WINGS of the eagle were on many of their shields. Check out the web site on Roman Army Eagles. They even have pictures. I found it especially interesting to read what so many commentaries mentioned about this portion of Daniel, and how the same commentaries match Matthew 24:15 WITH Daniel 9:27. I located a number of these commentaries on Crosswalk.com. What makes it especially interesting is the FACT that EVERY author from the first century till the middle of 1800's agree. After Darby and others like him got a hold of a 15-year-olds dream - writings changed to what they are today. Hum. Respectfully, Taleb P.S. About that "when" instead of "Since", seeing A.D.70 WAS about 40 years into the FUTURE - Jesus choice of the word "WHEN" FIT PERFECTLY. Amen? |

37 | ever neccessary/permissable to deceit? | Luke 24:31 | Taleb | 79544
Is it ever neccessary/permissable to deceive? 1 Samuel 16:1-3, in effect, states that the Lord was grieved He had made Saul king. The Lord instructed Samuel to go to Jesse of Bethlehem and anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king. Samuel said, “How can I go? Saul will hear of it and kill me.” The Lord didn't tell Samuel, "Don't worry, I'll protect you from him." God could have protected Samuel, but, rather the Lord answered: “Take a heifer along and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord’. Interesting! Often during the days of the Iron Curtain, when those many countries were closed to the Gospel, men and women smuggled tons of Bibles into the land. At the borders, the guards would sometimes ask, “Do you have any Bibles?” The smugglers would be instructed to tell the truth – just not the “whole truth”. They would often have two Bible handy. They would produce a Bible and say, “Yes, I have one right here.” “Do you have more?” They would retrieve the other Bible, reserved for the occasion, look the guard in the eye and tell the truth. “Yes, I also have this one. Would you like it for yourself?” Whether or not the guard took the Bible, the hundreds of others in their possession would enter undetected. Was it “deception”? What was it when the angel helped Peter escape from prison undetected? What was it when Rahab hid the spies? What was it when Esther invited Haman to “supper”, so she could expose his hideous plans to her husband, the king? How many "more" do we need to reveal from Scripture to realize we are in a battle and, because the enemy desires to deceive us, we can surely deceive him? But those two on the road were not deceived because the end result of deception is one believes something that isn't "exactly" true. Those men believed Jesus had risen from the grave - and it still is true. :) Respectfully, Taleb |

39 | Taleb, Do Mat 24:29 - Rev 6:12 differ? | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78529
Searcher, most of Revelations and Matthew and Mark and Luke and many other books talk about the exact same fulfilled events. They all quote other previously fulfilled events from history and the Old Testament. Get your Bible out and let’s check out the Scriptures that paint the “completed” picture that Jesus and His apostle John painted prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. They depict the same ones which transpired as Jesus stated. You need to note that Revelation is ESPECIALLY filled with symbolic language, something the Jew have easily understood for centuries. Many even “talk symbolically” today about everyday details and events. John frequently quotes from Isaiah. For example, Isaiah 34:4 says, “And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.” Rev. 6:12-14 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” By the way, (you have to read the rest of the chapter AND some history) Isaiah’s prophecy WAS FULFILLED during the judgment of Bozrah and Idumea. And just like the verses in Isaiah 34 say WILL happen did – although the speech was symbolic, like so much of Scripture, IT HAPPENED. And don’t forget Haggi’s. In about 520 B.C., he predicted a “world” disaster. Hag 2:6-7, “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.” And THIS WAS fulfilled when the temple was rebuilt. A new “AGE” was born to prepare the world for another NEW AGE – the age which prepared the way for the Lord’s birth etc. By reading Amos, Josephus and other material, you will follow how it took place. Just as the disciples understood Matthew – so must we. I like you, Searcher. You’re a person desiring to “cover all the bases.” Respectfully, Taleb |

40 | Taleb, Is the harvest done (Mat 13:39ff) | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78521
Searcher, Matthew 13 is ONE of my favorite sections of the Gospels. To understand what you are asking you must understand the rest of the verses too. In each of the verses you provided, Matthew 13:39-40, 49; 28:20, plus numerous other verses that not mentioned, say the same thing. Searcher, ALL THE “WORLDS” LISTED IN YOUR VERSES ARE “AIONS” - Strong’s 165. Too often, in Scripture, what was translated “world” is actually Strong’s 165 “aion”. This word means “age as in era”. It is for an INDEFINATE period of time. It has nothing to do with dirt par se. Cosmos, the Greek word from which we get “world”, is listed under Strong’s 2889. It is (as far as I could tell) always translated “World”. In one place "world" is used from two different Greek ones. 1 Cor 3:18-19: “Let no man deceive you,” (Interesting, Jesus also used that same phrase in Matt 24) “if anyone among you seem to be wise in this world (#165), let him be a fool. … for the wisdom of this world (#2889) is foolishness with God.” Through what “ages” have we come? And by “we” I mean mankind. There was the stone age; the middle ages (I wish I was still there); the dark age; the industrial age; the space age; the information age; and in Matthew's day the "AGE" to which everyone KNEW referred to their "present age". Well the end of each of those ages gave birth to a new age. Most overlapped only until the new “age” got going, UNTIL the “old” age came to its end. Therefore, I stand my stand about the end of the age – the Jewish age, the age of the Law and Prophets, THAT “WORLD” CAME TO AN END exactly when, how and where Jesus said it would. The harvest referred to in Matthew 13, etc. was completed. HIS-story details how well. But, every “AGE” has had a time of harvests. We are still in ours! Sometime I’ll go over 2nd Peter 3:10. It’s RICH with truth. Respectfully, Taleb |
