21 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Love Fountain | 37667
Dear panfararplvan, You might find the following of interest in regards to acrostics. VII. THE ACROSTIC PSALMS. There are nine examples of Acrostics in the Book of Psalms, while eleven other Acrostic Scriptures are found in the Old Testament 8. i. Psalms 9 and 10 are linked together by an Acrostic which, like "the times of trouble" (the great tribulation), of which the two Psalms treat, is purposely broken, and is irregular and out of joint. This Acrostic tells us that the subject of the two Psalms is one, and that they are to be connected together. See notes there on the many expressions common to both. ii. Psalm 25. Here, again, the Acrostic is designedly incomplete, a proof of its genuineness instead of its "corruption". No writer would or could omit a letter from carelessness. The Psalm has the same phenomena as Psalm 34, where the same letter (Vau equals V) is omitted, and the same letter (Pe equals P) is duplicated, in the word Padah, "redeem". The last verse is thus, in each case, made to stand out prominently by itself. iii.Psalm 34. See under ii., above. iv.Psalm 37. In this Psalm the series is perfect and complete. Every letter has two verses of lines each, except three: verses 7 (, Daleth equals D), 20 (, Kaph equals K), and 34 (, Koph equals K). v.Psalm 111. In this Psalm the series is complete. The Psalm has twenty-two lines, each line commending with the successive letters of the alphabet. vi.Psalm 112 is formed on the model of Psalm 111, the two Psalms forming a pair 9 ; Psalm 111 being occupied with Jehovah, and Psalm 112 with the man that revereth Jehovah. See the notes there. vii.Psalm 119. This Psalm consists of twenty-two groups, consisting of eight verses each. The eight verses in each group begin with same letter. For example: the first eight verses begin with (Aleph equals A), the eight verses of the second group with (Beth equals B), and so through the whole Psalm of 176 verses (8 x 22. See Appendix 10). It is impossible to reproduce this (or any of the other alphabetical Acrostics), seeing that the Hebrew and English alphabets do not correspond, either in equivalents, order, or number of the letters. It so happens that in the group beginning with T (verses 65-72), each verse in the Authorized Version does not begin with T, except verses 67 and 71. These can be readily conformed by changing "Before" to "Till" in verse 67; and "It is" to "Tis" in verse 71. The first letters being the same in both alphabets, can be thus presented: Ah! the happinessess of the perfect in the way, Such as walk by the Law of Jehovah. Ah! the happinessess of the keepers of His testimonies, Who seek Him with their whole heart. Assuredly they have not worked iniquity: In His ways they have ever walked. As to Thy commandments - Thou hast commanded us, That we should diligently keep them. Ah Lord, that my ways were prepared To keep Thy statutes; Ashamed, then, should I never be, While I have respect unto all Thy commandments. All my heart shall praise Thee in uprightness, While I learn the judgments of Thy righteousness. All Thy statutes also I will keep: Leave me not utterly. By what means shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word. By every means my heart hath sought Thee: Let me not err from Thy commandments. Besides, I have laid up Thy Word in my heart, That I might not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Jehovah: Teach me Thy statutes. By my lips have I recounted All the judgments of Thy mouth. By walking in Thy mandates' way,' I found joy beyond all wealth. By the precepts shall I guide my musings, And shall pore over Thy paths. By Thy statutes shall I be delighted: Thy Word I shall not forget. viii. Psalm 145. In this Psalm the Acrostic is perfect, with the exception of the letter (Nun equals N), which should come between verses 13 and 14. See note there. Through the infirmity of some transcriber, the verse was probably omitted by him. It must have been in the more ancient manuscripts, because it is preserved in the ancient Versions: videlicet, the Septuagint, Syriac,Arabic, Ethiopic, and Vulgate. One Hebrew Codex is known which contains it, as follows: "The LORD is faithful in all His words, And holy in all His works." Moreover, the Structure of the Psalm shows that it originally had its proper place in the Psalm. See the notes on Psalm 145:13,14. ix. For the other Acrotics in the Psalms, see the note on Psalm 96:11. The above is a portion of an appendix from a Companion Bible, from www.therain.org. Bless you, Love Fountain |

22 | information on speaking in tounges | Acts | Love Fountain | 36416
Dear Submarine43, Tongues means languages. Acts 2:4-11 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. KJV The above verses state that the tongues which were spoken on the day of Pentecost were understood and if you keep reading ahead to verse 16 of the same chapter we are told that they spoke that which was spoken by the prophet Joel, followed with the quoted verses from the book of Joel which is what they said. Hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain |

23 | Will idols in your home bring trouble? | Ex 20:4 | Love Fountain | 36415
Dear Josephh, Ex 20:4 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: KJV The above verse is a commandment straight from the Book. In my opinion, get rid of the items in question and don't take a chance playing with spirits and give respect to the Father that made us and allows us to make our own choices through His gift of freewill. Hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain |

24 | Why was three fine meal and a Calf ? | Gen 1:27 | Love Fountain | 36413
Dear Leftwich, Gen 18:8 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. KJV According to the above verse all three ate under a tree. Bless you, Love Fountain |

25 | Do you believe that God was a man | Gen 1:27 | Love Fountain | 36412
Dear Leftwich, You said,"God appeared in human form for Abraham," Do you believe in John 3:16, that Jesus was the only begotten Son? John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. KJV If you believe that Jesus was the only begotten Son, then by saying that God appeared to Abraham in human form is a direct contradiction to Scripture and goes against John 3:16. I hope you understand and this helps. Also you said angels "do not need to eat". I have always thought that God gave angels food to the people of Israel in the wilderness and it was called manna. Wasn't manna angels food? What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

26 | Would this be three men and God | Gen 1:27 | Love Fountain | 36411
Dear Leftwich, I believe Emmaus is saying that God is one of the three according to Gen 18:2,3 as follows, Gen 18:2-3 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: KJV Abraham in verse 3 of Gen 18 calls one of the men My Lord and Emmaus is saying that there are 2 angels and God and that some people believe that these verses with a total of three persons is symbolic of the trinity. 28 | As the deer pants and deep calls to deep | Gen 1:1 | Love Fountain | 36374
Dear Shiner, You say," I have a deep longing and yearning to have more heart knowledge of God.." God wants you to know Him and He has generously written a letter to you to tell you about Himself and to tell you about yourself. In the Bible we are told everything we need to know about God, how to find Him and how He wants us to live. He is so generous that He allows us to have freewill to choose to get to know Him or not, your choice. He does say though that if you don't understand the parable of the sower in the book of Mark chapter 4, then you won't understand ANY parables. Mark chapter 4 should also be read with Matt 13, they go together in many ways as you will see if you read and have a sincere heart and want to understand what the Father has for you. Mark 4:13-20 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. KJV Please forgive me, I don't understand the "deer pants" and am not too bright, but I hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain PS - In Matt 13:15 it says,"...understand with your heart..." the word heart is used figuratively for the mind or intellect as follows, The Greek word for heart is kardia in Matt 13:15. NT:2588 kardia (kar-dee'-ah); prolonged from a primary kar (Latin, cor, "heart"); the heart, i.e. (figuratively) the thoughts or feelings (mind); also (by analogy) the middle: KJV - (broken-) heart (-ed). 29 | those who live godly will be persecuted | 2 Tim 3:12 | Love Fountain | 36366
Dear Zach, Thanks for the great question! In Eph 6 we are told to stand with armour, and armour is put on when we read the Bible. Everything goes back to the Word. Jesus withstood Satan because of the Word and so shall we if we diligently study and it is God's will. I believe the more you read the Bible, the more truth will be taught to you by the Holy Spirit and the more you will be persecuted as your understanding grows. You ask,"Does the fear of persceution, keep us from living a more godly life?" I would say perhaps in some it may and this brings to mind the parable of the sower in Mark 4 as follows, Mark 4:14-20 14 The sower soweth the word. KJV I recently put together some verses you may enjoy as follows, 1 Peter 4:1-2 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. KJV 1 Peter 4:12-13 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. KJV Wasn't Jesus put on trial daily and one final time?,just my thoughts. Bless you, Love Fountain Jer 4:14 |

30 | What are the other books for? | Revelation | Love Fountain | 36339
Dear Frank, Please find listed the opinion of a commentary as follows, Rev 20:12 [And the books were opened] That is, the books containing the record of human deeds. The representation is, that all that people have done is recorded, and that it will be exhibited on the final trial, and will constitute the basis of the last judgment. The imagery seems to be derived from the accusations made against such as are arraigned before human courts of justice. [And another book was opened, which is the book of life] The book containing the record of the names of all who shall enter into life, or into heaven. See the notes on Rev 3:5. The meaning here is, that John saw not only the general books opened containing the records of the deeds of people, but that he had a distinct view of the list or roll of those who were the followers of the Lamb. It would seem that in regard to the multitudes of the impenitent and the wicked, the judgment will proceed "on their deeds" in general; in regard to the righteous, it will turn on the fact that their names had been enrolled in the book of life. That will be sufficient to determine the nature of the sentence that is to be passed on them. He will be safe whose name is found in the book of life; no one will be safe who is to have his eternal destiny determined by his own deeds. This passage proves particularly that the righteous dead are referred to here as being present at the final judgment; and is thus an additional argument against the supposition of a resurrection of the righteous, and a judgment on them, at the beginning of the millennium. [And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books] The records which had been made of their deeds. The final judgment will proceed on the record that has been made. It will not be arbitrary, and will not be determined by rank, condition, or profession, but it will be according to the record. (from Barnes' Notes, Electronic Database. 32 | DOES GOD AGREE WITH CREMATION | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 36227
Dear CHALEBERT, According to 1Cor 15:44 we have two bodies, a natural body and a spiritual body and when we take our last breath in the natural body we leave the physical world and enter into the spiritual. 1 Cor 15:42-46 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. KJV Or how about Ecclesiastes, Eccl 12:6-7 6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. 7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. KJV The spirit returns unto God who gave it, can also be stated as, to be absent from the natural body is to be present with God. 2 Cor 5:1-6 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: KJV I believe God could make another flesh body if He wanted to, But God himself is Spirit and I believe we are promised to live with Him in His image spiritually. I don't know exactly yes or no if God agree's with cremation, but I would believe ashes to ashes and dust to dust, from the ground we are and unto the ground we shall return according to the flesh which is seen as corruptible and weak throughout the Bible as we search for the Truth. Bless you, Love Fountain |

33 | Can a person's spirit visit the earth? | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 36220
Dear Suzanne, You asked,"When a person dies, and goes to heaven, does their spirit ever return to earth, to visit?" Based on the following Scripture I would say yes. Matt 17:1-3 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. KJV I believe Moses and Elijah were in heaven and came back to Earth, and John 11:43-44 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. KJV Lazarus died and came back from heaven. The above verses support that yes a persons spirit can return to earth to visit. You never stated what you believed but that's ok, hope this helps. Bless you, Love Fountain |

34 | Rev 8:7 grass burned -9:4 no more grass? | Revelation | Love Fountain | 36210
Dear 1 2Bsaved, Thank you for the question. Many believe the book of Revelation to be a book of symbolisms. In the Old Testament and in the New Testament we are given witness to flesh being grass as follows, Isa 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: and 1Pet 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: However, I believe the answer to your question is found in Matt 13, with the tares and the wheat. In Rev 9:4 the locusts are commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth and are given permission to hurt only men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads and in Rev 8:7....all the grass was burned. This sounds like the parable of the tares and the wheat of Matt 13:30 as follows, Matt 13:30 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. KJV With an explanation of who exactly the tares and the wheat are in the following verses, Matt 13:37-40 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. KJV I hope this helps answer your question. Also, the tares, to this day, are poisonous and can kill you if you eat them. TARES zizanion NT:2215 is a kind of darnel, the commonest of the four species, being the bearded, growing in the grain fields, as tall as wheat and barley, and resembling wheat in appearance. It was credited among the Jews with being degenerate wheat. The rabbis called it "bastard." The seeds are poisonous to man and herbivorous animals, producing sleepiness, nausea, convulsions and even death (they are harmless to poultry). The plants can be separated out, but the custom, as in the parable, is to leave the cleaning out till near the time of harvest, Matt 13:25-27,29,30,36,38,40. The Lord describes the tares as "the sons of the evil one"; false teachings are indissociable from their propagandists. For the Lord's reference to the Kingdom see KINGDOM. (from Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, Copyright (c)1985, Thomas Nelson Publishers) Please read all of Matt 13 for a better understanding. Bless you, Love Fountain |

35 | Who was Jesus asking God to forgive? | Luke 23:34 | Love Fountain | 36175
Dear Bill Mc, Thank you for the question. Forgive me if my answer has been given elsewhere in the thread but when you asked,"Who was Jesus beseeching the Father to forgive?" The first thought was 1Pet 2:8 as follows, 1 Peter 2:7-8 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. KJV I believe those, that Jesus asked forgiveness for, are those that are disobedient, they stumble at the word where it appears they were appointed. If we go to Romans 11:11 I believe we find the answer of why they were appointed. Rom 11:11 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. KJV Bless you, Love Fountain |

36 | why must the Father (not the son) forgiv | Luke 23:34 | Love Fountain | 36173
Dear agape7, Thank you for the question. John 17:1-11 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. KJV I see Luke 23:34 as one of many examples given to the children of God of how to live. I believe Jesus is portrayed as the son of God, as the example that we the children are to follow. We are to be obedient to the word and in John 17:7, Jesus says,"... all things whatsoever Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine". All things belong to the Father and we as children must be obedient to our Father as Jesus is our example of faith, hope and love to the Father and to each other. May we have mercy like that of Jesus! Bless you, Love Fountain |

37 | What will it be like in heaven? | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 35225
Dear Shel, What heaven will be like, we cannot begin to understand but we are given a glimpse of what some of the attendees will be like in the following, Matt 5:1-19 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. KJV Bless you, Love Fountain |

38 | why did jesus come | Bible general Archive 1 | Love Fountain | 35091
Dear Shirl, While the others have given you good answers, another answer to why is found in the following verses, Heb 2:14-18 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. KJV A father would never ask his children to do something he would not do himself. Our Father is no different, just as His children wear the flesh so did He. He was not tempted, and lives by every word that proceeds from His mouth and so should we also live by His Words of mercy and love. Thank you Jesus! Bless you, Love Fountain |
