21 | salvation for demons? | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140565
Hello Angel, "Peter, in 1 Peter 3:18-20, 4:6, is speaking on the fulfillment of Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God; these spirits are those who died not truly cognizant of God's Promise (Salvation in Christ Jesus)." Are you saying that Jesus offered salvation to the demons, as well as, to men? "...Jesus' Salvation offered to all the creatures of God..." Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

22 | Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesit- | 1 Kin 18:21 | Pastor Glenn | 142488
1 Kings 18:21 Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word. Agnostic? Indifferent? Undecided? Hesitant? Are all of these bad? Adam and Eve were made with free will. If Satan had not tempted Eve, would they have remained in the garden forever? Why did God allow Satan into the garden? Why did He put the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil into the garden? Should God let us remain indifferent towards Him? Any Comments? Pastor Glenn |

24 | more outstanding Hebrew scriptures? | Is 53:1 | Pastor Glenn | 63095
In addition to Isaiah 53, Psalm 2, and Psalm 110, are there more outstanding Hebrew scriptures for searching Jews? I see these as outstanding because they readily show that no one else in history could possibly fulfil these prophecies of the Messiah except Jesus Christ. They thereby, link the old testament with the new testament. God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

26 | How important is self esteem? | Ezek 16:44 | Pastor Glenn | 89402
Below are a number of scriptures that refer to sinners with low self esteem. It is sometimes said that you must love yourself before you can love others. Is this true? How does God feel about it according to these scriptures? Eze 16 says a lot. Ezekiel 6:9 Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations. Ezekiel 16:5 No eye pitied you, to do any of these things for you, to have compassion on you; but you were thrown out into the open field, when you yourself were loathed on the day you were born. Ezekiel 16:45 You are your mother's daughter, loathing husband and children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children; your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite. Ezekiel 20:43 And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed. Ezekiel 36:31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. |

27 | dictatorship superior to democracy? | Dan 2:37 | Pastor Glenn | 82334
Is this scripture implying that dictatorship is superior to democracy? Dan 2 37You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; 38and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all--you are this head of gold. 39But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. 40And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. |

28 | Double fulfilment of prophecy? | Matt 2:18 | Pastor Glenn | 66935
Is Matthew holding to the same rules of biblical interpretation in this scripture that we often use today when determining prophecy fulfilment? Are there rules and methods that we can learn from and apply to other prophecy scriptures today? Or is this simply an example of inspiration from God to show this fulfilment? Jeremiah 31:15 Thus says the LORD: "A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more." Matthew 2:18 "A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more."[2:18 Jeremiah 31:15] Pastor Glenn |

29 | Was Martin Luther King Jr. wrong? | Matt 5:13 | Pastor Glenn | 109759
CDBJ, Today is Martin Luther King Jr Day. Are you saying that his peaceful activism was wrong? I am not trying to start trouble and of course you are free to disagree. I just wonder if you have really considered this scripture in Mat 5:13? I want to point out that he often debated this issue with racist Christians. Yes, as in anything, prayer for God's direction is very important. You said, "I’m sorry to say but most of these, so called Christian activist, are only whitewashing the devils world! " Well, if that is true then Jesus' words here seem meaningless: Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. MLK challenged Christians to be real, not hypocrites. The bible says that if we say that we love God and hate our brother, we are a liar. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems that you are lumping the peaceful activists together with the evil unpeaceful ones. Another problem is with organizations like the ACLU that pretend to be defending American constitution. The ACLU has many Christians divided over many issues that the bible makes clear. here is some of what they say: "ACLU of Louisiana Opposes Renewed White House Push for Taxpayer Funded Religious Discrimination (01/15/2004)" "NYCLU Calls on State Officials to Audit Salvation Army Employment Practices (01/14/2004) " www.aclu.org They often mix a little lie together with the truth to confuse people. 1percent lie plus 99 percent truth equals a lie still. If MLK was wrong, then please explain why. Pastor Glenn |

30 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Pastor Glenn | 60552

31 | ...with such an one no not to eat? | Matt 7:2 | Pastor Glenn | 60571
New Creature, Very well said. How about this verse that you posted? 1 Cor. 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. It appears to refer to "THOSE INSIDE". Does that mean that it is OK to eat with this person AFTER he is excommunicated? Also, do we treat this person differently than those sinners that have not called themselves "Christian"? God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

32 | ALL christians in speaking out on sin? | Matt 7:2 | Pastor Glenn | 60572
Prayon, Excellent comments. As a followup question: So far we have talked about preachers. But, what is the responsibility of ALL christians in speaking out on sin? Is there a difference? Also, I would like everyone's permission to print your responses for bible class discussion. God bless, Pastor Glenn |

33 | Jesus' faith teaching vs Word of Faith? | Matt 14:29 | Pastor Glenn | 65222
How do we put this scripture into proper perspective to straighten out "Word of Faith" teachings today? Mat 14 28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29"Come," he said. 30Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Pastor Glenn |

34 | better for him if a millstone were hung? | Mark 9:39 | Pastor Glenn | 94641
Mark 9 38 Now John answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us." 39But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40For he who is not against us is on our side. 41For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. 42 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. " In light of verse 42 I would be afraid to attack Word of Faith followers or anyone else that are working in Jesus' name. Some might say that WOF have a different Jesus, but I notice in this scripture that Jesus did not make that distiction. There is a danger in trying to say that some have a different Jesus. The Jesus of the Mormons is a different story. The Mormons make it obvious. Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Romans 12 Behave Like a Christian 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"[1] says the Lord. 20Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."[2] 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 35 | Predestination: scriptures meaningless? | John | Pastor Glenn | 61244
JRdoc, Does'nt predestination make these scriptures meaningless? Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 10:13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." Rom 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? Rom 10:15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" Rom 10:16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?" Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Rom 10:18 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have; "THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD." Also, it is clear that all men DO have a small amount of light. No one is in total darkness: John 1:9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. God has dealt every man the measure of faith needed for a fair choice: Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 36 | saved regardless of their own attitudes? | John 5:24 | Pastor Glenn | 63858
Hank, I hate picking on just one statement that you made, but this one just looks strange. Where does this statement come from? "The doctrine of grace does teach that certain ones will be saved regardless of their own attitudes and responses. " If it is true then does that include "attitudes and responses" towards Christ? God Bless, Pastor Glenn |

38 | The name Jehovah or the name of Jesus? | Acts 4:12 | Pastor Glenn | 92778
Truthfinder, The focus of the Watchtower and Tract Society on the name "Jehovah" is totally misplaced emphasis. The scriptures already have the emphasis on the name of the Son! Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Truthfinder, I have pointed out that the great conspiracy of Satan is really the "spirit of anti-Christ", not "anti-Jehovah". But, you have not responded to this point. Do you agree that scripture emphasizes a conspiracy against the Son (Anti-Christ)? 1 John 4 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that[1] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. How does the NWT render the above scripture? Do you agree that the doctrine of the trinity "does not" teach that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are "one person"? However, they are "one God", but also three eternally distinct persons. Is this your understanding of what we believe? I am not asking if you agree with us, only if you know and understand what we believe. The bible is clear that there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. John 3 18"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Do you believe that you can be saved by the name Jehovah or by the name of Jesus Christ? Pastor Glenn |

39 | Post NWT of Acts 4:12 and John 3:18? | Acts 4:12 | Pastor Glenn | 92836
Thank you very much New Creature. I already knew that you are not a JW. I have unsuccessfully searched the web for a free electronic copy of the NWT. I feel that Truthfinder's argument about the use of the word "Lord" in the place of "Jehovah" is a moot point. Since these kinds of scripture that point to the deity of Christ are present in the NWT also, then the NWT becomes a tract for the doctrine of the Trinity. I do not know whether he is ignoring this question or if he is simply taking his time to ponder it. From the NWT scripture that you quote, it is clear that even using the NWT does not take away the emphasis on "Jesus Christ"! In post ID # 88482 Truthfinder admits that the New Testament applies "Jehovah" to Jesus Christ: "And Heb. 1:8-12 reads, NWT, ” 8 But with reference to the Son: “God is your throne forever And Psalm 102:25 reads, NWT, 25 Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth itself, And the heavens are the work of your hands. Here the psalmist was talking about Jehovah God, but the apostle Paul applied these words to Jesus Christ as you say in Hebrews 1:10, 11 As it turns out, these words apply to Jesus, for he acted as Jehovah’s Agent in creating the universe just as Colossians 1:15, 16 tells us. So Jesus, too, could be said to have “laid the foundations of the earth.” Yes, all three were involved in creating the universe and man. (Let us..), God’s active force or holy, God’s Son and he himself. Truthfinder" New Creature, can you please post also the NWT of Acts 4:12 and John 3:18? Pastor Glenn |

40 | Called and sent by God or just "went"? | Acts 6:5 | Pastor Glenn | 66448
Called and sent by God or just "went"? Is it important to wait for the leading of the Holy Spirit before entering the ministry? Or is it enough to just be born again and study the scriptures or both? Are the Old Testament scriptures like Jeremiah 14:14 related only to the prophets of old or are they relavant to ministers today? Here are some related scriptures: Acts 6:3Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; Acts 8:29Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot." Isaiah 6:5 So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts." 6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged." 8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Jer 14:13Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say to them, "You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place."' 14And the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart. 15Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say, "Sword and famine shall not be in this land'--"By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!
