21 | Jesus is the same | Heb 13:8 | Noveta | 137091
Thanks, I wish there was a technique to help me memorize the bible. I pray and try to meditate on one chapter or scripture, but it is not working. Sometimes I feel that something is holding me back from helping me go to that next step in my Christian life. I get approached by other religions a lot. And I was speaking to a Jehavoh Witness and she was saying that God never changes and that we should start from the beginning. We got into the discuss of doctrines and she asked what I thought and I said. "I don't believe Jesus is a created being becuase he is the same today, yesterday and forever" And her reply was that is GOD who is the same "today, yesterday and forever". I knew I had read in the Bible where it said Jesus but I could not remember. Is there also a place where it says God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Because this will really prove my point that Jesus is GOD!!!! Thanks very much. |

26 | Jesus in the flesh..what does this mean | Matt 1:23 | Noveta | 132855
What other scriptures can I use to explain what in the flesh means. Because I know someone very personally that says he believes Jesus came in human form. To him, this is what is meant by coming in the flesh, nothing more. He says to say it means "God came in human form". Is adding to the scripture. He just doesn't believe that Jesus is he God. He says he is the Son of God. And they point to scriptures that say believe Jesus is the son of God and you are saved. He says this should be good enough. He says Jesus did not make a point to mention he was God, so why force the point. Please help. God bless Noveta |

27 | Jesus in the flesh | Matt 1:23 | Noveta | 132850
I have a question, regarding the following scripture: 1 John 1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. What is meant by Jesus coming in the flesh. Does it mean, Jesus in human form? Many religions, teachers, leaders, people believe this but they have different views as to what he came as and what he left as. |

28 | A well balanced church | Rom 16:17 | Noveta | 132909
I have been searching for a well balanced church for years. Right now I am attending a baptist church. I have studied many religions and I am trying to stay with a church that believes in essential Christian doctrine, like the trinity, bodily resurrection ..etc. I thought I found a church, in fact, I still think this church is a good church. But what if the pastor supports another pastor that you know does not believe in essential Christian doctrine. Should this be something that I concern myself with. No man is perfect, not even a pastor. I know the bible has rules for a church leader. Right? The pastor he is supporting is a word of faith pastor who clearly doesn't believe in the trinity. |

30 | Understanding Mark 10 | Mark 10:18 | Noveta | 131270
Could you agree with this intepretation? First of all I believe Jesus is God. But I also believe that Jesus came to serve not be served Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Honestly, My first impression (Mark 10) I would say that Jesus is saying, Why are you calling me God, God is the only one who is Good. Because if you notice, after that the child did not call him Good Teacher..anymore. But to read in harmony with other scripture. Jesus purpose is not to say hello I am God. His purpose is to teach that God is Good. Just as he teaches that God only can save in the next verses Mark 10:26-27 "The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Saying Through God you are saved. We know Jesus saves..he is our God and Savior Titus 2:13 - "the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" For me, this is an example of how important it is to read and study the bible in context. You read scripture in light of scripture. do you agree? Noveta Your sister in Christ |

32 | Sorry correction | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130968
Thanks so much everyone. This is great christian fellowship. I am learning so much. I really feel encouraged. I don't feel as alone anymore! The past couple of days I have been able to understand the plan God has for me. I have been able to answer my husband's questions to the point he has to go and ask his elders questions in order to clarify what i have told him. Usually he comes back with the usual programmed responses. Also, my kids have told me they love Jesus. I feel so great. God has truly helped me in so many ways. I feel so blessed that God's truth is being revealed to me. I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me. This is the first verse I have memorized!!! Thanks |

34 | Correction | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130920
I see when you read something you are very detailed. You can really Intimidate a new christian.. It is so hard for me to find someone that understands what I am trying to say. Being married to a JW.. it is really heard for me to find a place to express my what I am learning.. He corrects me the same way you correct me. I feel like I am taking a test.. When I spoke of the Devil I think it was before I said he says.. Is it okay to switch topics in one post ??? Why would did you point my switch in thought.. Does that imply something? However, thanks for you post. I try to learn from everyone and no one is perfect. Sometimes when you think you are in common thought ..you assume that they get the idea.. However, this is very serious.. Maybe I should stop posting for a while.. Or Maybe just continue to ask questions with out comments. |

I don't understand what you are trying to say.. for he says.. Is just me typing.. Excuse me for not spell checking.. When I asked if Have I intepreted it correctly. This is a christian forum.. I am a new christian ..I just want some confirmation from my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.?? |

36 | Jehovah is the only true God | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130876
I am only responding to this thread because of the wonderful list of scriptures you have quoted. I think the only way to prevent Tara from posting is to NOT respond to her post. However, I will like to digress and study the scripture so that it feeds my soul. When I read these scriptures, that you have posted, I understand that Jehovah is the only God. It does say that the Devil is the god of this world. (2 Cor. 4: 4; Jn. 12: 31) But that is only because people have fallen prey to worshipping him. Like mentioning in the other posts many things are gods (money, people). They are gods because they are worshipped. They are gods because they or it has influenced people not to follow the only true God's commandments. In other words, instead of following God's commandments, they choose otherwise. If you want to know and follow the only true God ..then you must follow Jehovah..He can strenghten you. No other gods can make your stronger. Money will not make you stronger. The devil will not make you stronger. for he says: Is. 45:5 - "I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God...I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me," This my interpretation..Have I interpreted it correctly? |

37 | Jesus in the beginning | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130292
Tara, I am a little confused.. Why are you adding words. The bible doesn't say “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the Trinity, and the Word was the Trinity. The same was in the beginning with the Trinity.” In context John 1:1,2 is explaining who Jesus is .. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. There are other scriptures that point out the Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God. The word trinity is not in the bible.. It is a word that has a meaning and is a coalition of many scriptures found in the bible. We are finite, God is infinite.. why are you trying to calculate what the Bible is simply telling you.. What is the difference between the beginning in Genesis 1 and John 1 Genesis 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. I was neglecting responding to you because you read a different Bible, which gives a different meaning, but I need to ask this question. |

38 | One God, One Jesus Christ | 1 Cor 8:5 | Noveta | 130218
I found this question in the post. It was not answered.. Or I did not see one. Can I please get a response for this? Do you ridicule the apostle Paul? 1 Cor 8:5,6 states: "For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." There is only one God (with a capital G) the Father Jehovah. |

40 | Undertanding Hebrews 1 | John 1:1 | Noveta | 130029
I guess the question is in Hebrews 1, it says God, your God and a few verses earlier it states God is speaking to the son.. So who is God and who is Your God. Is God and Your God the same person? |
