Why do you think Isaac could not simply pray that God reverse the blessing he gave to Jacob in error and have it transferred to Esau as intended? Chusarcik |

24 | Did Rebekah actually receive a curse? | Gen 27:27 | Chusarcik | 141096
In Genesis 26:13, Jacob was worried that stealing Esau's birthright through trickery would bring a curse upon him. Rebekah told him not to worry and that any resulting curse would fall on her. Is there scriptural evidence that she did receive a curse and if so, what was the curse? Chusarcik
25 | I'll try to make my question more clear | Bible general Archive 2 | Chusarcik | 137691
Boy, This really got off on the wrong track. I believe events described in the Bible are reality, one hundered percent.I'm not trying to debate that and that's not what I meant by the question. Let me try to make it more clear. As all Bible scholars would agree, information in scripture is often presented in an allegorical fashion, such as Jesus using parables to teach a lesson, rather than just stating the purpose out straight. Much other information in the Bible is also allegorical, such as the picture of a bride representing God's people and the groomm representing Christ. My question is this: "Why does God choose to present information in scripture through the use of allegory?" I'd like some feedback I can share with my Bible study group. Thanks, Carrie Husarcik |

30 | Why were there THREE divine beings? | Gen 18:3 | Chusarcik | 132261
In Genesis 18 1s there symbolic significance that there were THREE dividne beings that appeared to Abraham? I understand that the number three often represents triads of completeness in the Bible, such as the triune God, so I'm wondering if and how this would apply to the three beings in chapter 18? In Genesis 15: 11-13 Why did Abram divide everything except the birds in his sacrifice? Why did Abraham experience horror when God put him to sleep? Why does the fact that he had to drive fowls away from the carcasses symbolize? Chusarcik |

32 | History of nations of the world | Bible general Archive 2 | Chusarcik | 124761
From www.zionministry.com I reviewed a chart called Nations of the World that chronicles the descendents of the sons of Noah. This chart shows the European nations such as France, Germany,Sweden, etc. coming from the line of Shem, the son from whom the Israelites come. From www.freemaninstitue.com, it states the same European nations descended from Japeth, the oldest son. My Bible study group is confused by this conflicting information. Which one is correct? I'm asking this question again because I didn't get an answer when I asked the other day. Chusarcik And a note to Country Girl who responded the other day but did not answer the question: Country Girl, Thanks for responding and to answer your question: The answer to my original question is important to me because the Bible very carefully lists geneology in Genesis and elsewhere in the Bible and the promises and covenents made to each of the sons of Adam. I believe it is important to study all information given in God's word to know him more thouroughly. If we were not to carefully ponder His word why would he give it to us? We have in our Bible group members of many different nationalities and back grounds (my own includes Native American, for example) and there is absolutely no intent to develop prejudice against anyone, just to try to understand God's word as set forth in the Bible. Perhaps the Bible does not give us enough information to know the correct answer and if that is so that is fine, but I've come across conflicting information as stated in my original question and wonder if anyone can answer the question? 35 | need info on Semuramis and Tammuz | Ezra 8:14 | Chusarcik | 123805
Is there Biblical documentation to support the belief that Nimrod's wife, queen Semiramis, was a key player in beginning pagan worship of the sun and mother son worship by stating that her son Tammuz was Nimrod reincarnated? Or if not information on this specifically, are there at least references in the Bible or in historical works about the existence of Semiramis and Tammuz? I am trying find historical information about this topic so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chusarcik |

37 | Is NIV version not worded right? | Gen 9:5 | Chusarcik | 122803
My NIV version puts it quite differntly:And for your life blood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, to I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man. Genesis 9:5 What are CEV and NLT translations? My NIV version seems to indicate animals must give account for their actions rather than die if they kill a human as your two translations indicate. I just looked at King James version and it seems to match your two versions more closely than the NIV. Is the NIV version just not worded properly? Chusarcik |
