Dear Michael, Please forgive me my dear scholar. We are all here so used to mostly seeing questions to be answered and less and less, folks post notes as a sharing of their repository of exposition. As you noted, it is a free resource in an open access environment for all users to ask questions, give answers, and experience spiritual growth as a result. Which was why I got confused about your intention, it is a forum to ask questions and give answers. Rarely with the exception of Doc, does anyone drop a golden nugget for us all to ponder as a note dropped in the Primary section where questions that have been answered are left. When he does he makes clear his intention in posting by his clarification of the context of his content, usually by virtue of the content itself without explanation, which I did not see you had until you explained to me your purpose in posting it. Next time, I will just assume you are edifying us all and think that that is your context of your content. If you feel I presummed to speak for everyone else then I do aplogize to you in all sincerity. Looking forward to being taught by you. God's day to you, Tamara |

205 | Why did Jesus not want the evil spirits | Bible general Archive 4 | Tamara Brewington | 204969
Dear SBG, Welcome to the forum! I think John makes an excellent point there that it is impossible to say directly from scripture why Jesus kept on saying to various parties not to tell that He was the Son of God, the Christ, the Son of Man. We may have a clue though in one of the scriptures John gave you; Luke 9:21,22 But He warned them and instructed them not to tell this to anyone, saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the cheif priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day. Jesus says the two things together at one time which has led many commentators to see each other instance of Jesus saying this; to the demons who kept saying it, to those He healed, to the disciples, because He did not want His opponents given cause to seek His death too early in the game. His opponents were already seeking to kill Him because of healing on the Sabbath and His claims to deity and for the people to start going around and spreading the news that He was God, the Christ, the Son of God would have incited those who were against Him to act before the appointed time for Him to go to the cross by hastening the process along too soon. Just a thought... God Bless, Tamara |

Dear Val, I have been corrected and told that my apology was not sincere becasue I explained my reasons for using words instead of just aplogizing and it was seen as a back handed apology. I did not mean it that way, again, I sincerely aplogize to you if I was offensive Val, no offense was intended. Please forgive your sister in Christ, I repent. Tamara |

207 | An interesting discussion/question | Romans | Tamara Brewington | 204962
Dear ChildofGod, When man sinned he destined himself to hell, not God. That is what I meant by that God only chooses some to save. That statement does not leave out that the offer is being made to all men, but the fact is even though the offer was made all men still run away from it unless God uses the Holy Spirit to draw them back. Men do not chose soley on their own, they do choose, but no until the Holy Spirit convincts them of sin in their hearts. Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit, you don't come to Christ without Him drawing you and woeing you to Him. I do not believe in full Calvinism school (there are many Calvinistic models) that states that God predestined the evil choices of all men and that men do not have a free will at all. I believe that men do have free will, but that without the working of the Holy Spirit will always choose to remain sinners because they are reprobate. That means that God does not foreordain men to be sinners and go to hell. It means that God foreknows who will go to hell and predistines some to be saved by His sovereign Holy will. That every one deserves to go to hell is the point, not whether God predestines any to go to hell, He does not, man made his decision a long time ago. There are schools of thought that believe Adam's sin was never transferred down to other men, as if other men would not have made the same bad choice. These folks think that no one is a sinner until they first commit one sin. The Bible does not teach this though. Neither does it teach that God predestines that some should sin, only that some would be saved. God's justice and mercy are not the same things although God's love is just and merciful. My goal was not to block out justice and mercy as different from God's love, but to see how those three things are working through predestination, foreknowledge and election. Love, justice and mercy all work in concert within the process described in Romans 8 through the three different but related concepts of predestination, foreknowledge and election. However, God's justice does not work the same way as His mercy, one condemns sin, the other forgives sin; He demands payment for sin and then offers every one forgiveness. His love is unconditional in that He loves the sinner, but it is conditional in that He hates the sin. This is one of the mysteries of God. Just as are the processes of predestination, foreknowledge and election. God's day to you, Tamara |

Dear Val, I am sorry you were so offended by the words boy and sucks and that you feel it was so unprofessional. Perhaps it was unprofessional of me Val, the word suck was realy apt to the situation, but I could have used a better word, but I fail to see how the word boy, which just denotes surprise, was unprofessional. I didn't know boy and sucks were slang words though any more than the word mess would be. I guess we all have different concepts of what slang words are. Point taken though, thanks Tamara |

Dear Jamison, The text may actually says that the child will not return to David, because the child is dead, but it does say David will go to him, which means David would have to be dead to be going to him... Do you believe in soul sleep? Jesus says of Lazarus, he is not dead he is sleeping. And Jesus says of Jairus daughter she is sleeping. To say that someone had fallen asleep was a very old euhpimism stemming back from the OT where it also speaks of folks going to sleep who had died. It does not have to mean that their souls were asleep, but it can mean that it was simply an idiom of that day for death. Paul says in II Corinthians 5:8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Paul was not talking about a 2,000 year plus gap before being able to see the Lord because as soon as he woke up in heaven he would see the Lord. The text does not says that Paul meant souls sleep at death, you have to read that into it. He was saying that to absent from the body is to be present with the Lord with no gap of time indidcated by Paul. Philippians 1:23 But I am hard pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better. Paul does not have any gap of time in mind here or he would have said so, you have to read a gap into it to get that. Acts 2:29 says that David died and was buried and that his tomb is with us to this day, it does not say that his soul is sleeping in his tomb, you have to read that into it to get that. Peter is making a contrast between David who died and who is no longer holding the throne as the heir and Jesus who rose from the dead as the eternal heir. Peter is not making a point about soul sleep. See Acts 2:29-36 to get the context of why Peter said David's tomb is with us till this day. God's day to you, Tamara |

My mistake, I though I couldn't do that Lookin I though we were not allowed to past url's I think I have this site's rules confused with the ohter site I tried for a while - www.Biblediscussion.com not a very good site... a whole lot of non Christians in there boy and they have debates and scientists and Muslims and aetheist and you can say and do anything you want to in there and it was a real mess the way they post things and such. They locked me out for some reason, I can't post there anymore... No reason given, their posting system really sucks bad and you always lose whatever you were doing if you go back a page. People send you private messages in there which you can't receive or open left for you at their site too and you have to cut and paste their url's that they send in order to receive a note. Their post system brings everyone's comments back to you instead of to who was in the thread answering someone esle, they don't really have a thread, just one big open long page per question. I received some insultig and demeaning replies from a sicentist in there, over there anything goes... Oh well I am rambling, so here is a scripture; II Timothy 2:15,16 God's day to you, try www.preceptaustin.org and see if you can turn anything up there too. Tamara |

continuation Adults and children who are old enough to know they have sinned are another matter altogether. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, becasue that which is known about God is evident within them; for God has made ir evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not honor Him or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and theri foolish heart was darkened. This is called General Revelation. God made His power, His divine nature known to all men who have never even heard the gospel through what He has created. The entire universe, the stars the moon, the earth, the creatures are so wonderfully and awesomely made that man is able to see what God has made an internally know that there is a God who deserves worship. Man can look inside himself at how intelligently and wonderfully he has been made and functions and understand that there is a God who made him because God has made it envident. But men have decided to ignore the truth that they know there is a God and refuse to worship Him or give Him thanks. Every single culture that ever was worships soemthing because they know that there is a God. But because they are full of sin, they pervert that knowledge and worship gods, idols, self, things, creatures in every single culture, from the bush to civilizations to the jungle they all end up worshipping a false god and refuse to simply look into the sky and the jungle and the bush to see that there is one Holy God who made it all and worship Him instead. We are not talking about Jesus now we are talking about creation itself pointing to God. Where the light of General Revelation is, all men get to see God. And by that light God judges them by their response to that light. In every culture that failed miserably which is why the Bible says non may come to the Father but through Jesus. Special Revelation was first given to men before the fall and Adam and Eve rejected it. Special Revelation is all of the particular manifestations of God to particular men at particular times in the history of man. Adam first had miraculous experiences with God, they walked in the gardedn together and talked out lout together. Adam fell and that was no more between them. Then came all the patriarchs who had special miracles happen proving to them that God was there. Then the times of the Law and the Prophets and God kept on showing up doing miraculous wonders shwoing He was there. Then comes the most Special Revelation; Jesus Christ the Revelation of God, then comes the last Special Revelation - the God breathed word of the living God. It is only by this light that men will be able to come to God and be reconciled. God has justice - he requires payment in death and blood for sin, nobody deserves to live or go to heaven, no one at all. God has mercy - He chooses some out of every person who ever lived, who all run away from Him and head long towards hell - to be saved. This is predestination. God has perfect knowledge, and power and is every where, in the past present and future, He knows how His plan to save some will come to pass - this is foreknowledge. God has perfect justice, He chooses some to save by turning them around from their desire to remain sinners, and leaves the rest to freely choose to follow the road to hell because they rejected Him by whatever light they were given- this is election. Romans 8:28-30 Psalm 107:35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth and let the wicked be no more. Bless the Lord oh my soul. Praise the Lord! The Bible teaches that there is no such thing as people who do not know that God exist whether ever hear the gospel or not. They are held responsible by God according to the light they have been given. God is not obligated to save even one person and His justice in condemning all men is Holy. God chooses to save some out of every one as all have already rejected Him and are going to hell because God is merciful and His mercy is Holy. God saves the babies, the unborn, the young children all those who are not aware that they are sinning because they are not capable of understanding any light that He could give them, God is just and mercifull and Holy. God Bless Tamara |

215 | An interesting discussion/question | Romans | Tamara Brewington | 204924
Dear ChildofGod, II Samuel 12 In this passage David repents of what he did kiling Uriah and the Lord says that He will visit evil on the house of David and kill David's child. David got ver sick when the Lord struck his child and would not eat and he fasted and lay on the ground all night. On the seventh day the child died and the servants went to tell David and were afraid that David would do himself harm because he had been so distraught. But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; so David said to his servants, "is the child dead?" And they answered, "he is dead". So David arose from the ground anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he came into the house of the Lord and worshipped. Then he came to his own house, and when he requested, they set food before him and he ate. Then his servants said to him, "what is this thing that you have done?" "While the child was alive, you fasted and wept; but when the child died, you arose and ate food." He said, "while the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, who knows, the Lord may be gracious to me, that the child may live. But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him and he will return to me." Do you see that last verse? I will go to him and he will return to me? David is referring to seeing this child in the in heaven after David dies, as this is the only way he could see the child again, and receiving back his child in the life here after. We know this is so becasue we know David went to heaven when he died, so then the child would also have to be in heaven. Think about it a while, it will sink in. This is an allusion in scripture to what will happen to children, babies, unborn, anyone who has not reached the age of accountability would fall under the scope of this scripture. God does not hold a person responsibile to anything but the light He has given them to see His two Revelations of Himself by. Children are not able to grasp and be responsible for the two Revelations God has given because they don't have a concsiousness of having sinned before a certain age that varries from child to child. more to come |

217 | Help! Unclean vs clean meat? | Acts | Tamara Brewington | 204921
Dear LRP 2008, I came Johnny come lately to this question here, but let me help you out a little bit more here; Romans 14:1 - 11,13 - 23 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purposes of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat,and the one who does not eat, is not to judge the one who eats, for God accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regardds every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does to for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God. For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ die and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living. But why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this - not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way. I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. for he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense. It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anythign by which your brother stumbles. The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is from sin. I think this clears it up; Paul says all things indeed are clean, but don't make someone else stumble in their weak faith if they see meant as unclean and eat only vegetables, have your faith to your self as long as your meat eating does not offend your brother you do well, but if your meat eating offends them, don't make them stumble, you stop being stronger in faith than your brother. So then if your mother-in-law won't be eating meat anymore her faith is unto God and she shall stand, and as long as she is not offended that you keep eating meat you stand strong in your stronger faith than hers and you keep eating meat and you shall stand to God in your faith because the kingdom is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace. God Bless God's day to you, Tamara |

218 | No Plan B | 1 Cor 2:13 | Tamara Brewington | 204919
Doc, You got me goin here... I am thinking about David, Bathsheba, Solomon and Jesus - there was no plan B, God allowed David and Bathsheba to sin and birth Solomon, but Solomon was always going to be on the throne of David and be in the direct line of Jesus. Despite that God hates all sin, and despite that He could have done it a different way, He choose by His divine sovereign will to do bring Jesus to earth in the flesh the way He did through David, Bathsheba, and Solomon -there was never going to be a plan B! God Himself told David by His very word that his seed would be on David's throne forever. I know that is not quite what you had in mind, but what you said got me to thinking. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. You also got me to thinking about this verse which is closer to where I bet you were; Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; (thinking myself about my earlier post today...) God's day to You, Tamara |

continuation We here at the forum are very familiar with those who call themselves Black Hebrews and make claims not supported by the Bible that they are from the tribe of Judah. I am not saying this is who and what you are, I am not pointing a finger at you and saying this is why you make the claim that you do. I am new here, there are others here who have been here for a long time and they are watching and reading everything that comes through this forum and are very carefull about not tolerating any breaking of the guidelines for good reason. You have made a claim that is pure speculation on your part that is not in keeping with Sola Scriptura, the literal interpretation of the Bible. And you have talked about a practice of having a box with precious stones with eyes in them as if perhaps this somehow relates to Jeremiah 3:8,9.] You also made a comment about not wanting to associated with those who have lived sheltered lives. There is not such thing as anyone on earth who has not sinned, been harmed by sin, suffered pain and loss and death, no one is untouched no matter if they were in the Bible their whole lives, they are not sheltered from life. I myself am a poor uneducated woman who has suffered for various reason for 39 years. That is not a badge you wear because you are unsheltered, no one is sheltered. You talk about not wanting to talk to Bible thumpers. Anyone who believes that the Bible is without errors, see II Peter 1:19-21, belives that everything it says is true. Here is something for you; Jesus was a Palestinian Jew who probably had an olive complexion and he was from the tribe of Judah by genetics, not beliefs. He was crucified by Pontius Pilate and the Sanhedrin and the mob of Jews from various tribes and died and rose from the dead on the third day. He died for all men, He said to and Paul said so; John 12:32 And I, if I am lifted up will draw all men to Myself. Romans 5:18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. Jesus died for all men, not just the tribe of Judah, he told Paul to go preach to the Gentiles and offer them salvation. The Gentiles were not Jews of any tribe and Jesus said He was dying for them as well as for the Jews. I would suggest that you study the Bible closely to see what it says and attempt no to interpret it as symbols and instructions to live according to symbols and tribes and stones with eyes. Doing those things is treading into pagan idol worship. I have given you the gospel here, I think you should think about whether or not you have accepted the gospel that Jesus really preahced and taught and that the apostles really preached and taught. God's day to you, Tamara |

220 | This is a prophecy right?? | OT general | Tamara Brewington | 204896
Dear LightVskira, You are welcome to particiapte here as long as you follow the guidelines of this site, I say this in love with respect. One of the guidelines of this site is that you will adhere to Sola Scriptura. This means that you will stick to a literal intrepretation of the Bible and not symbolize things and intrepret things in the Bible as symbols of things they are not. Your verse Jeremiah 3:8,9 is talking about the Servant the Branch, which was a term used in the Old Testament to refer to the Messiah by the Jews. Then you have the stone, which the Lord said He would engrave an incription on it, which the Bible never tells us what that was and we do not know what it is from studying the Bible to this day. In your original question you state that you have a box with precious 7 stones in it that have eyes of light. I am going to ask you point blank; what is the significance of these precious stones to you? Are you speculating and drawing a parellel between these 7 precious stones with eyes of light to the 1 stone in Jeremiah with seven eyes on it? This is not in keeping with the agreement you signed in particapting here. The Bible does not teach that people are to have a box of 7 stones with eyes of light as a kind of precious reminder or as a relic or an icon because Jeremiah had 1 stone with 7 eyes of some kind that we are unable to discern what kind of eyes those were that God was going to inscribe something we don't know about on it. Which box where you referring to that has water to heal people? Which book, which verse? You believe you are from the tribe of Judah. No one today has proof which tribe of the Jews he is from if he claims to be a true Jew. The records of who was a true Jew and what tribe a true Jew was from perished in the fire that destroyed the temple at Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and there is no longer any record other than the Bible of who was a Jew and what tribe they were from. The last record in the Bible that we have of who belonged to what tribe is that of Paul who was of the tribe of Benjamin. That is the last record that exists to this day. No one can truthfully make the claim that they actually belong to the real tribe of Judah anymore. Why have you made this claim? Those who believe in Jesus who is of the tribe of Judah cannot now claim that they belong to the tribe of Judah, or what some like to say is the Lost Tribe of Judah. more to come, Tamara |
