201 | do you pay tithe on loan money | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 93648
While I had my small business going, I had a bit of a delima of sorts where "required" tithing was concerned. I started out tithing my gross. then I started studying scripture to see what the Word said. My determination was primarily based on Pr 3:9 Pro 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: Pro 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. I'll admit 3:10 made me feel really good, for although some would say that is not why we should tithe, it is still a promice that we can bank on. Although I did not, and do not feel that the Lord expects me to continue to tithe my gross, and considering the fact that my gross includes payment for materials which I purchased in the first place, I have done so since the beginning. As yourself, I feel that anything above and beyond is an offering, and if the Lord blesses me, why shouldn't I spread that blessing. Try as one may, the Lord can't be outgiven. One last thought; Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. So what I do, is not nesssisarily what someone else should do, and vice versa, as long as we are both following the guidelines laid down in scripture and not robbing our Lord with a lack of tithing all together. 202 | Must we observe the law of God? | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 93542
Bingo! If you follow the commandment Jesus gave in Mat 22:39, you will automatically adhear to the law. Think about it... Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |

203 | do you pay tithe on loan money | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 93540
Scripture states that we should tithe all our "gain." Considering the fact that you are going to pay back a loan, it is not "gain." A gift, or earned interest would be gain, but not something borrowed. The very fact that you asked this question indicates that you are following the right path, that inner voice, the gut feeling, THE SPIRIT. I'd say that you already had a good idea what the correct answer was. If so, learn to follow that Spirit, "walk in the Spirit." You will NEVER go wrong if you do. God Bless |

205 | no patience and abrasive... | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 93536
Thanks Hank. Your note is well taken and appreciated. Dogmatic though? I beg to differ. Per Mr. W 1 : positiveness in assertion of opinion especially when unwarranted or arrogant (I strive to, and believe I have, for the greatest part avoided opinion, unless otherwise noted and commented that I can find no biblical foundation for my assertions. Unwarranted? Perhaps, I may on occasion allow a bit too much salt in the stew. Arrogant? If The Word is arrogant, then I admit my guilt.) 2 : a viewpoint or system of ideas based on insufficiently examined premises. (I challenge and even request this definition be proven on a post by myself.) I know it is all in the eye of the beholder. But Black is black. White is white, right is right, and wrong is wrong BUT, the Word IS THE word. There is NO gray area therein You are one hundred percent correct in your presumption. I am sure that I have some rough and abrasive edges, however, life has taught me that the Word is generally abrasive to those who insist on continuing in their ignorance and blindness I understand what you are saying. I applaud your statement and will ponder thereon for quiet some time to come. Thanks for your time, Hank. And… if I continue my input to this forum, I would like to hear your thoughts in about a year, concerning this matter once again Brothers in our Lord George |

206 | Any more information on this? | Matthew | GeorJoy | 93254
Concerning 1 Pe 3:19; Most likely this is a reference to the preincarnate Christ's preaching through Noah to those, who because they rejected the message are now spirits in prison. There are many views on this point. That is just what they are "views," for there is no scriptural foundation (that I have found) to support anything other than ones own interpritation. George |

207 | no patience and abrasive... | Not Specified | GeorJoy | 93253
In New Creatures note # 92815, an article was quoted concerning the Church. Anyone who has been in this world, and not totally blind to The Church, for any length of time, they would have to agree. Perhaps I am at the very least, a little overly self judgmental, but I can’t help but to get the feeling that though I quote scripture in its purest form, I am abrasive to many. I have very little, or no patience when it comes to deception where the Living Word of God is concerned. Although I will not be swayed in the Word or on the meaning thereof, I would like to hear some honest and sincere spiritual thoughts of those whom have taken the time to read my posts. Not on the subject matter thereof, nor the views of scriptural interpretation, but on my method of my delivery. Brothers in Christ George |

209 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 93248
Mommapbs, are you from this country? Or are you simply noting a broader field of vision on your part. Surely you are not like myself, for I have only within the past year started going to Church on a regular basis. Such as you have noted kept me out of the House of God for the majority of my life. Even though I knew that the word warns not to forsake the assembly, I felt before that I just didn't fit the mold; that I didn't conform to the old fashioned way, and that I could be just as good a Christian without Church as long as I continued in the word. When I finally started going to the House of God on a regular basis, I determined that I was there strictly for my spiritual nourishment, not for the people or to conform to their mold but for my "spiritual nourishment and preparation" to do what ALL CHRISTIANS "should" do; serve, witness, plant, and nourish the crop, in preparation for the harvest, which as many before me have also said, I believe the harvest surely must come soon. In my local Churchs, I first noticed that there is no “altar call.” Not as I remember it anyway. I now notice that even those whom I consider the most spiritually gifted preachers (in the pulpit,) appear to be “only doing a job.” After normal working hours (Church services,) there seems little in the department of leadership when a brother or sister needs and even requests such. I’m not saying that they don’t seem to be spiritually capable, just that there seems to be little sincere concern for the brethren, and much concern that they (the giver) will be stabed in the back. I should and will say that worldly conformity would eventually distroy the Church and make the true Christians rebels and outlaws, were it not for the fact that our Lord will reap the harvest before that happens. 211 | adultrus marriage, a "marriage" in Gods | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93208
Oh Praise His MIGHTY name! And give thanks for those such as yourself. What a testimony! "What GOD hath joined together." I will say that, God has never joined an adulturer together. "man reminds us all the days of our lives." So true. So true. It is our responsibility to spread the Word in it's UNLEAVENED purity. I love the faxcimially thought. I admire you DAIRYLEADER5. Please read my notes concerning this matter and give me your thoughts thereon. My eMail is geobro@pngusa.net Post them if you like, email if you wish. I have been flamed, blasphemen and insulted, yet I hold fast to what I have stated. My only remorse concerning my notes is in the nagging questions below; 1) have I gone too far in standing firm on the Word? 2)Should I have refrained from responding to the one and only one, who simply could not, or would not comprehend the very Word that I quoted?" As it turns out, the originator of this particular topic, (newoldstock)fell in to the category of my 1st note and all is well where he is concerned. But my notes seem to touch the very nerve of one certin individual. I can not for the life of me understand why. I know that I am often blunt. I also know that where the Word is concerned, I can not and will not be swayed. DAIRYLEADER5, your response and comments concerning your observation of my notes in this thread will be very much appreciated. In Christ George |

213 | Should a divorced person remarry? | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93201
I never made such a statement. However, does 2 pluss 2 equal 4? Add it up. ....... If one is living in sin. (pluss) one is forgiven of sin (equals) one does not continue in sins of the past. Forgiveness clenses one of sin. Continued sin dirties. Forgiveness does not come without repentance. Forgiveness does not change the fact that sin is sin. God Bless George |

Praise the Lord. Thank you newoldstock for your final response. I wish that others could read as well as yourself, for it is evident that you have read and understood my original note which has sparked an inferno of misinterpritations, insinuations, and downright childishness on the part of many respondants. God Bless, and thanks for the study of the word that that your note has generated where I am concerned. George |

216 | adultrus marriage, a "marriage" in Gods | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93196
Thanks Mommapbs for your mature response on this topic. I only reciently discovered the truth of your statement “if the immoral partner chose not to repent I would say that divorce is justified in the word." I can’t remember where it is, but as best I can, I will paraphrase what I can remember of the scripture. “If the unbelieving partner chooses to leave, the believer is not bound.” “(deeply loved, completely forgiven, totally approved, accepted and reconciled as a new creature in Jesus,)” is a fact. However, I will admit that I may be wrong, but it is my stern belief is that “repentance” is an absolute necessity, not an optional choice. And how can one have "repented" if they are cintinuing in the sin? Forgiveness is for past and present sins, not a free ticket to continue in sin or a changing of the fact that a particular sin is a sin. Your note makes me ponder my belief deeply. You asked, “Don't you think that some might use this notion (not a marriage in God's eyes) as an excuse to dishonor the very relationship that God created and affirmed in the Garden?” I don’t know where the relationship that God created and affirmed in the Garden comes into play concerning my statement, for there most assuredly was no adultery therein, however I don’t doubt that not some, but many would use my notion, as they would any other biblical notion, to dishonor anything that God created, particularly His living word. I know that many do it through ignorance, but there is a point where ignorance has to either take the path of knowledge, or remain in their ignorance. I will not bend to their play of words and insistence on spreading their ignorance. Would God reconise a marriage between two men? I am sure there are just as many who will argue that point, for I was also flamed for my notes on homosexuality. If I am not mistaken the major flamer on this post, had some flames to throw therein as well. What is the difference between a homosexual and an adulterer? Are they not both sins against the flesh? As to Hosea 3:1. That took place during the 1st covenant. Christ, you will remember, stated in Mat 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: -----and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.---- As I said in my very first note concerning this subject, “Dear friend, I can not answer your question. Nor can any other man. Many will voice their thoughts, including myself.” It is with deep sorrow and pity that I read the blasphemy and insults heaped upon myself for having quoted scripture and voiced my thoughts on this subject. Perhaps I myself have been overly blunt, but what I have stated is biblical and I therefore make absolutely no apologies. If what I say offends anyone, and it seems that there is at least one in this forum that everything I say offends, I can only say that if I have stated anything that I can not back up with scripture, then I am a liar, otherwise it might be wise of those who disagree to either do some deeper study of the word or simply keep the insinuations to themselves, for though I pray constantly about it, even I am not immune to anger and an occasional improper response. Can’t we agree to disagree? Thanks for your mature response on the point my friend. God Bless George |

217 | adultrus marriage, a "marriage" in Gods | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93114
Thank you DAIRYLEADER5, but please be careful stating such truths herein. You will become "fair game." Your words will be twisted, even though they may be direct quotes from scripture. Would you say "scripturally" that an adultrus marriage falls in the category of a "marriage" in Gods eyes? George George |

218 | Should a divorced person remarry? | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93112
justme. I am so thankfull you are just you and I am me. Please do not respond to any more of my notes. I will do likewise. Should you choose to ignore this request again, you can expect more of what seems to insult you so much, "undeluted Word." Charlie, my quotes are dirrectly from scripture. My paraphrases are based thereon as well. You have every right to disagree with me, but when I quote scripture dirrectly, and you or anyone disagrees, it is not my place to argue the point. I may attempt to clarify, but some have no desire for clarification. They only desire justification. If I am harsh, forgive me. If I am quoting dirrect scripture and being attacked for doing so, I am going to put it like it is, whether it offends or not. God Bless George |

219 | Should a divorced person remarry? | Matt 5:31 | GeorJoy | 93109
My friend, you can play your word games all you want. I am not interested in a debate with anyone who, in a botched attempt to display intelligence, pens such a flowery, meaningless use of words, and twisting of scripture, as what is displayed in your post. Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Where scripture is concerned, I know many facts, and one is that your tactics are described therein as well as others I have noted. Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, “after the tradition of men,” after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. As I have stated in previous posts; “even Satan can quote scripture, when it appears to serve his purpose, and desire.” I thus withdraw myself from any further debate on this particular topic, for I have presented the truth of the word. If anyone will accept it, Praise the Lord, otherwise, Lord forgive them, for they know not what they do. With respectful prayers toward all who have participated and, or read these notes on the topic of a “33 year old ongoing sin” of adultery; “is it justified or no?” Scripture says NO. Scripturally, the marriage was never recognised in the eyes of God from the first day, and though the sinners may have been forgiven, they have by no means been granted a “free to continue in sin” ticket. Like it or not; IT IS THE WORD…. IT IS CALL ED (REPENTANCE,) PEOPLE! REPENTANCE… Once again, per Mr. Webster it means intransitive senses 1 : to "turn from sin" and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life 2 a : to feel regret or contrition b : to change one's mind transitive senses 1 : to cause to feel regret or contrition 2 : to feel sorrow, regret, or contrition for –repenter noun R E P E N T A N C E… George |

Since I was just about to enter my teens. I am nearly over the hill now. The answer to your second questions depends on what you mean by active. I am an active church goer. I strive to let His light shine through me where ever I go and what ever I do. Although I currently attend a Penticostal Church Of God, I consider myself "non denominational." If they preach the Holy Bible, what difference does denomination make? I am an active bible student and have been since my late teens. You have read my profile, haven't you? It is a concise picture of my way of thinking, along with a smidgen of personal history. I am in the process of completing a degree in theology. I have a goal to be in full service of our Lord before I get "over the hill." As I recall, you said you went "over the hill" about 8 years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing if the grass is really greener on the other side. "I'm using the over the hill thing in jest." George |
