Hi Kathy, Thanks for being so helpful. You see, I have a maid from Indonesia and I need some guidance from the Bible. Thanks again. P.S. Kathy,I hope you will permit me to take this opp- ortunity to express my feeling to the participants of this forum.I feel much perturbed to see some unpleasant expressions exchanged and I feel that I am the one who has caused it because of me putting forth that question. I therefore seek your forbearance. Before those learned people who possess vast knowledge of the Bible, decide to leave this forum, I would request them to think of people like me who come to this forum to seek guidance and to learn the word of our Lord Jesus. Did Jesus tell us to love one another and to forgive one another? Now we are one big family again!Amen With Love in Christ FytRobert |

Hi, Our God is a very fair God. He is loving, caring and forgiving. But what is mentioned in DEUT.5:8 IS not very complimentary and in fact it is contrary to the good nature of God. Deut.5:8 ".....punishing the children for the sin of their fathers to the third and fouth generation of those who hate me...." Could it be possible that some misinterpretation/mis- tranlation have crept in? Your comments, please. With love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Ajxen7z4 This is a belated "Thank you" for having come to my rescue.I would have thought that by the manner and fashion I spelt out my comment especially in connection with the 2 commandments under discussion, it was obvious that I was in a zestful mood and my mind at that time was wishful too. However, I now realised that I had inadvertenly caused a couple of persons to feel hot in the collar though to cause unpleasantness was never in my mind.Nevertheless, I tender herewith my apologies. By the way, what was in Jesus mind when He said "All the law and the prophets hang on to these two commandments" Mat.22:40 refers. With love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Aixen7z4, LOVE is a very very powerful word, if not the most powerful word in the dictionary.lOVE encompasses everything that is spiritually, legally and morally good. When there is love in our hearts, minds and souls our actions respond to the goodness and dictates of our hearts. When there is love ,anger and hatred-the greatest enemies of mankind-are absent and anything that opposes to love will disappear. Having expounded the power of love, I now refer to your recent response and give an excerpt of the part on which I wish to comment. You said "What if we abolished all the old commandments and just kept two "love God" and "Love one another" Would you be in favour of that? That would keep us killing and stealing obviously, but also from adultery and envy" With spiritual love in our hearts the question of whether we are in favour of abolishing the old commandments does not arise and kept two i.e. 1.Love God. 2. Love one another. A big yes to these. If we comply with just these two commandments and live our lives accordingly,we shall be on good ground and when the time comes we shall be on our way to our desired final destination--Heaven With love in Christ. Hi Emmaus, Thanks for your prompt reply but regretably, you are off the mark.In my question, there is no inkling at all as to whether God has changed His mind.My question was simple and direct. Are some of the Laws which were pronounced 2000 years plus ago are still relevant to-day? With your vast knowledge of the Bible and of the world, I am inclined to believe that you will be able to throw some light on this matter. With love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Emmaus, Thank you for your response to my question which is appended hereunder for ease of reference. "Moses brought down the 10 commandments[Exodus20] and the Laws as enumerated in Exodus 21 more than 2000 years ago.Living conditions, life style, human behavour and etc,etc have since changed considerably. Thus, how relevant are these Laws to the present time? Maybe some of these can be considered obsolete!" Repeat- some of the Laws only!To illustrate my point, I quote a couple of examples: 1.Exodus21:15 Anyone who attacks his father or mother must be put to death. 2.21:16 Anyone who kidnaps another-----must be put to death. 3.21:17 Anyone who curseshis father or mother must be put to death. Are these Laws still relevant to present time? Your comments are invited. With love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Ray, Thanks for your response and you have quoted John 10:30 Jesus said " I and the Father are one" I have also read the three preceding verses and I now append hereunder my perception. John10:30 "I and the Father are one" This verse by itself would superficially convince one and all that Jesus and the Father are one and the same Person/Spirit/God.But in order to have a better understanding of the message that this verse intend to convey,it is necessary to refer to the context that Jesus was talking about in the preceding verses.Jesus was narrating about how He and His Father were caring, guarding and protecting the sheep. In this context, Jesus and the Father are one- of one mind sharing the same caring and loving thought. But Jesus and the Father are two distinct persons! I stand to be corrected and I invite your invaluable comments. With love in Christ FytRobert |
