184 | Christians who convert to other faiths? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 224411 | ||
findrichard, Can a believer lose their salvation? Christians who convert to other faiths? Two hot button issues to say the least. I linke these two questions together because they come under the same issue in a manner of speaking. Is an individual truly a disciple of Jesus Acts 2:38,Ro 10:9,10, Jn3:16. If one can't say yes to theses scriptures then we have a problem. Next no true disciple of Jesus can lose their salvation. Our Lord speaks of this In Jn 17. I am not one who believes an individual loses their salvation. Now this is where it gets sticky for allot of people. Nothing says a person can't fall away or walk away from God. It happens everyday. We've seen it in our own fellowships. But there is nothing that says they can't come back either. This is where God's people come in. We can't and should not turn our backs on anyone. We are ambassadors for Christ and ministers of the Gospel nomatter what. In Him, lionheart |

findrichard, Welcome to the forum. First of all a couple of scriptures. 2 Iim 2:15 and 2 Pt 1:20,21. These are bedrock scriptures when it comes to how we handle God's Word. People take things out of context, twist scripture to make it say whatever they want to say and unfortunately this goes on everyday. As 2 Timothy says, we gotta accurately handle God's Word. gphilipp00, Welcome to the forum. The question I would have for you here would be where are they wrong and how. What would be a scriptural basis if any for doing this. MAMAMETAL, We get answers everyday one way another. The question that arises is are we listening. God doesn't ignore any of us. You say that after fifty years you finally heard from The Holy Ghost. If I may interject, If you are truly a disciple of Jesus Christ His Spirit has been with you all along. Col 1:27, Acts 2:38. What are your expectations when you pray. sonofmom, There are those who might view this as sarcastic. And in the case of the scriptures you gave this was God's responce to sin. Nothing sarcastic here. I will say this though, there are numerous symbols and figures of speech employed in God's Word and also when God is quite pointed and direct. Go through all of Gen 3 and you'll see what I'm saying. Look at 2 Tim 2:15 this is a must in any study of God's Word. In Him, lionheart |
