1761 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Gen 2:9 | stjohn | 184565
Good grief!! Lets Keep it simple shale we. The word of God is not that complicated. when Jesus rejected Israel It was temporary. He then began to focus on building His Church. Which He is still doing today by the way. When He takes His Church Out of the world, via the rapture, He will then refocus on Israel during the Great Tribulation Represented by the 144,000 that are sealed to go through it. At that time He will set up His 1,000 year rain and after that comes eternity with God and all His children. Very simple really, and it does not take a so called scholar to drag what "he" thinks is the truth out of what God is saying. If you don't understand it, that is, why God is doing it that way, I don't know, It's His plan, He said it, not me. If you have a problem take it to God. God bless all. Peace stj |

Congratulations Doctor Pett! It seems Very clear to me, and I hope to others that have been following this thread, and, other threads that you have participated in, that you have once again made yourself and what I would consider your ridiculous teaching on eschatology the center of attention. Good job doctor! Very cunning indeed the way you say the important thing Is Jesus and the salvation he offers, but then you craftily keep the argument going by injecting words and phrases like "Absurdity" and "mythical hybrid kingdom" and things like "the apostles will be given amazing powers" (as if) God were not big enough to do again that which he has already done. After visiting your web site I find your commentary very much like your posts, long winded and vacuous of anything that truly edifies the body of Christ. So far my friend your words only seem to confuse and divide the body of Christ. May I say very frankly that this part of the body is sick of toughs words! An unending stream of disjointed gobbledegook! Garbage! You seem to take great pleasure in making others look stupid with your superior intellect and photogenic memory of scripture. To bad! You don't seem to have a Holly spirt led understanding of them! And really Doctor! Injecting national pride into the flow of your deception is a cheep trick! You could do so much more for God if you were not so inebriated by the felicitations of your own verbiage! May God richly bless you my friend stj |

Hello Jonp; I for one, can indeed see how God could graciously want to include his angelic host and let them in on his plans, so to speak. I see nothing wrong with that, and, I can see the logic in your well thought through analogy of what God was saying, and, to whom he was saying it, and why. And, what He was doing and why. The way you put it , it makes a lot of sense to me and I can except it on those terms. I am of the opinion however that the word is a little more simple then that; sort of like me. I like the way an old preacher put it, maybe you have heard this one. "God don't put the cookies on the top shelf were His kids cant reach them." Not every one is as bright as you Jon, and I am not being facetious please believe me. And I know that you will agree that the Bible is a book that speaks to mans heart like no other book can; as it is the living word of God, speaking to the heart of the simple, as well as to the wise. Having said that I should say that I would lean more to the other view. I still see nothing that I could very successfully argue against your view. perhaps this is one area that we can see from both sides, and maybe get an even better perspective, as I don't think this is an issue, or an area that we should be dogmatic about. And I am not saying that you are. That was for the benefit of any that may be listening. I am not being a fence walker or a liberal ether; you will find that obvious as we get to Know one another better. God's peace Jonp. stj |

1767 | Oh God that I could be! | 1 Cor 2:1 | stjohn | 184289
1 Cor 2:1 AS FOR myself, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony and evidence or mystery and secret of God in lofty words of eloquence or human philosophy and wisdom; 2, For I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. Oh God, that I could say and do as that one. Oh God, that I, were Like Paul! To speak, ...only of Him! That I would see my brethren, ...only through Him! And It says. Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? But then, ...He gives. OH, how He gives! Mercy... Grace... Peace beyond all knowing... And a love, ..that is... As though daddy were hugging... every fiber of my being! Oh God, that I could speak... As Paul spoke! That I could DO.. As paul did! That I could pray...As David prayed! On my face, ..broken, ..poor, ..my flesh, ..brought low, ..yet, my spirt high. How is it, that from weakness, ..is found power? Mystery Indeed, ....I feel my heart growing within me. Who knew? When Pride brought you to the cross, ..it could be... Oh, So, GOOD! God's peace. |

Hello brother Jon! Thank you for your answer! I see now how I was wrong. Jesus Our Lord was a prophet indeed! And what a prophet He was! Please forgive me. I was attacking what looked to me to be a statement that diminished Our Lord. I should have Known better as you have shone much grace. God's peace brother! stj |

Hi WOS; I am humbled, and I stand corrected, and I apologize. Thank you! I appreciate your answer very much! I also appreciate very much to see you defending each other. As brothers should. I hope you can all forgive me for attacking what I thought was an answer that looked as though it was diminishing our Lord. I should have addressed that issue alone, and not beet around the bush, all I did was stick my foot in it! Lesson learned! I hope! God's peace to all stj |

1775 | Did Jesus clean the temple twice | NT general Archive 1 | stjohn | 184245
Hi Doc; Thats really only one time isn't it? when you conceder in Acts Scripture is repeating what was said about our Lord in Deut 18:15-19. And, in Matt. luke and John, isn't that what the people were calling Him? Too, that is not what Peter called Him, when our Lord asked him, He said thou art the son of God, and, our Lord answered in the affirmative. So, I would have to agree that because of what is said in Deut. that Scripture does refer to our Lord in a prophetic office one time. Taking into account all the other times, and I must say that there are numerous copious plethora of times, and lots of them to, that He is referred to as something so much more then a prophet. Was He a prophet? Or more? Thanks Doc. God's peace stj |

1776 | Did Jesus clean the temple twice | NT general Archive 1 | stjohn | 184240
Hi Johp; Well; after revisiting the accounts of Jesus' cleansing of the temple, I must agree with you. Your observations are astute, especially mark 11:11 where Jesus takes a good look around the night before. And, I think, I would have to agree that Jesus did cleans the temple twice. I have some questions however about something you wrote. "as a young prophet having just commenced His ministry He was incensed at the noisy trading that was taking place" I don't want to sound Insolent, But. Would you mind telling me when our Lord was demoted from being Messiah to prophet? I am sorry Jon, but I think I shall have to most definitely disagree with that one point. I don't think our Lord was; nor, do I think, scripture ever refers to our Lord Jesus, as a prophet. I'm sure that you would agree that it is important to always recognize just who our Lord was and is. And I don't want to sound contrary but your answer seems to imply, that our Lord was not being purposeful the first time He cleansed the temple. Didn't His disciples recall that it was written John 2:17 "ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME." Doesn't this imply that Jesus did perhaps know exactly what he was doing? Certainly our Lord was zealous, and, consumed by it! But don't you suppose that He Knew that this was indeed a fulfillment of prophesy? Sorry to be redundant, but, although He fulfilled prophesy was He a prophet? I would like to point out, that I do agree with most of your answer. I think it was for the most part, verry good. Thank you for clearing that up for me! your thoughts? God's peace stj |

1777 | no physical death? not sinners? | Eph 4:9 | stjohn | 184230
Hi PDAL: First of all, I pray you accept my apology for my crassness, and condescending response. Thank you, for your patient and thoughtful one. I think, I do now, know what you mean, and correct me if I am wrong, please. It appears that your definition of sinner is the same as unsaved, if that is so, I concur, (I'm not sure that webster would see it that way) but the way you put it I agree, wholeheartedly i.e. spiritually, and, mindfully too, if I may. And, I agree when you say, Paul, in the verses you refer to is talking about the spirt, and, that we, having accepted Christ as our savior, are born again in that spirt i.e. we have a NEW SPIRT! amen. And, that we are being transformed, i.e. an ongoing process of renewing our minds, agreed. However; and once again, my apologies for not saying this before, as this really is my point, When the world, the unsaved, unbelieving, sinners, hear a Christian say something like I AM NOT A SINNER! (and they will be using webster's definition, by the way.) they see a pompous pious hypocrite. As you said yourself, we're not saying that we don't sin. I think what we are saying is, we don't want to associate ourselves as sinners, I cant agree more. So; maybe we don't see what they see, but that is what they see. And believe me, I know, I don't know about you, but I spent the better part of 50 years as an unsaved, unbelieving, sinner. And brother if we are to sow seeds of God's salvation in the hearts of sinners, so the Spirt of God can grace them with faith once having heard the massage. Well; we need to be careful thats all; If they see us as lyers: Why should they believe us? May God's peace bless you always. stj |

1778 | no physical death? not sinners? | Eph 4:9 | stjohn | 184174
Hi PDAL; What can I say? 1st John 1:8-10 v,8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. v,9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. v,10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. Please forgive me brother. But, to say we are without sin is nothing more then, "arrogant, cocky, Christianity!" This problem (pride) has been around sense the beginning of time, (as we know it.) RIGHTEOUSNESS is something we wear like a robe. And a beautiful robe it is to. Praise be to Jesus Christ! RIGHTEOUSNESS I is not IN us, it is ON us, if you please. It's something that our Lord Jesus Christ; the ONLY sinless one has so graciously lent to us. Good grief man! Just take a look around you! Can you honestly say, that you don't see sin in God's Church? May I suggest; you take a closer look at your own heart as well. And if you cant, or wont; then ask God to do it for you; like David did! A man after God's heart, by the way! And I am not judging you! Although I am tempted. If I were to say, that I am without sin, I would consider it noting more then; (PIOUS NONSENSE!)! lets get real; please. God's word is real; and IT does not; and HE does not; mess around with pride! Keep searching my friend, I am confidant, that you will find the truth; whether you pick it up, is up to you. God's peace stj |

1780 | "let them alone" | Matt 15:14 | stjohn | 184001
Matt 15:14 "Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." The stress of life is watered down by friends where love exists, and by that grace is shared. And Father blesses every knee that bends to honer Him and have the temple aired. It is today to recognize the love that God expressed in sending His own Son, to point the way to Abba's home above, where seekers hope to wed The Holly One. Tis not an easy thing to find the way when sin has dimmed so many human eyes, and men need carry torches knight and day , least pits be taken for an eastern rise. piece to all stj |
