141 | Why do we disagree? | 1 Thessalonians | userdoe220 | 9347
As long as we are human and living on this earth, we will look at different theological issues and arrive at different concusions. I don't believe Jesus/God sees anything wrong with people who beleive the Bible teaches something a certain way choosing to fellowship together! I belong to a Hillcrest Christian Church (they say they are not a denomination, but if it walks like a duck and quackes like a duck it is a duck. They have calvanists/armenianists/pentecostals/charismatics all under one roof. Each Sunday school class is a knock-down drag out fight! When new converts come into the church, the single-most voiced complaint is, "All of this stuff is so confusing. Christianity is way to hard to understand!" I can't help to think that if all the armenianist in our church would gather together. And all the calvanist in our church would gather together. Sunday school and church would be much more enjoyable. I don't see and will never be convinced that God wants us all together under one roof just to argue on our day of rest! So, I don't see why it is bad for people to read/study the scriptures and go to a "denomination" that best lines up with what they believe the Bible teaches. Even if that denomination bears the label of a Christian Church. |

142 | What is the point? | 1 Thessalonians | userdoe220 | 9348
Your comment that you are "no-rapture" does not make any sense. The rapture plain and simple is Christ coming for his church. How can you deny that without denying scripture? Well, unless you allegorize those passages which a number of theologins do. |

143 | Can I trust this Pastor? | Hebrews | userdoe220 | 16920
I don't think this alone should be a test as to weather you should trust him or not. I know a number of fine Bible teachers who firmly beleive that Paul wrote Hebrews.
144 | Could Jesus sin? Explain. | Heb 4:15 | userdoe220 | 14534
If Jesus COULD NOT SIN, how could he be tempted like we are today? If there is NO CHOICE--the option to sin--like we have today, how could he sympathize with our weakness? If Jesus was God how could he be tempted to sin? If God is totally Good, How could he be tempted to perform Evil? Another good question the church has wrestled with for years. |

145 | Is this person saved? | Heb 6:4 | userdoe220 | 9691
1st. There will be degree of punishment in Hell 2nd. Jesus teaches there are "degrees" of sin. Even logic would dictate that. |

146 | what does Hebrews 6v4-6 mean? | Heb 6:4 | userdoe220 | 9692
Show me where these terms apply to a person who is not saved in the N.T. and I might look into this belief. The author of Hebrews is clearly talking about people who have "tasted of the heavenly gift...partakers of the Holy Spirit." If I read this passage without the aid of someone telling me what it is suppose to mean, I would never come up with a Calvanistic perspective. Why? I would choose the natural reading of the passage and not try to force it into a particular theological belief. |

147 | An Arminian Consensus in the Forum? | 1 John 2:2 | userdoe220 | 19304
Armenianists are not Universalists. The only point, as an armenian, I would accept would be the first one. No Armenian that I know teaches that: 1.) Christ's death results in the forgiveness of all men. 2.) Christ's death results in the forgiveness of every man of all sins except one. 3.) Christ's death results in the forgiveness of all men, but they will stile go to Hell if they don't believe. I have never heard an Armenian teacher or Theologin teach the above three points. Armenianist do teach teach that Christ's death extends the offer of forgivness to all men not just to a few. We do not believe that Jn 3:16 is Jesus "speaking in terms so that the unlearned can understand" but, Jesus meant what he said..."The Whole World." Christ's sacrifice is offered to everyone and everyone has the ability to accept or reject this offer. The last three points hint of universalism. |

148 | ___-trib satisfactory? | Revelation | userdoe220 | 17358
I don't recall anyone from any camp teaching that 1 Thess 4:13-18 or Matt 24 refer to the millenial reign of Christ. So you would be right by all camps in asserting that I thess 4 and Matt 24 do not teach the millinial reign of Christ. P.S. why do you feel our salvation is determined by our belief in end-time events? |

151 | ___-trib satisfactory? | Revelation | userdoe220 | 17370
"Persons who do this are adding to God's word and are in danger of losing their share in the tree of life and the holy city. This is my opinion of what I have read and have studied. May God bless you, Listener." I must be confused and maybe you can clear up what What you mean by this statment? schwartzkm |

152 | ___-trib satisfactory? | Revelation | userdoe220 | 17386
I would agree with your assessment on the purpose of Revelations: comfort in the midst of persecution. I beleive the main theme of Revelation does apply to us as belivers--and I suspect you do to--things might get bad here on earth, but in the end He will triumph. Got to run schwartzkm |

153 | number of apostles | Rev 4:4 | userdoe220 | 16413
Acts 1:15-26. I know the scripture prophesies that Judas will be replaced after his death (acts 1:20). I am not questioning this as a reason for the choosing of Matthias as a replacement for Judas. If God says it do it. My question: Is there any significance assoiciated with the number of the apostles--12? Can parallels be drawn between the 12 tribes that established the nation of Israel and the 12 apostle that established the N.T church? |
