141 | Does God have multiple motivations? | Deut 29:29 | Love Fountain | 27936
Dear Fran, As I was reading through the responses of this thread, I wanted to let you know that I am truly touched by your responses because I also am a parent and can relate to the love that you are talking about. The love of a parent towards a child is in my understanding unconditional, and I am pretty convinced that it is due to God's unconditional love that He sent His Son to die for the rest of us, so we can repent and seek His will which He has laid out for us to follow. Anyways, thanks for the love. Bless you, Love Fountain |

142 | The Miracles of Elisha | 2 Kings | Love Fountain | 38156
Dear Makarios, Thank you for listing the miracles of Elisha. Please allow me to add a couple things. While Elijah participated in eight miracles, we know that Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit in 2Kings 2:9 and it was given to him because he had eyes to see Elijah being taken up in a whirlwind. By this double portion, Elisha participated in sixteen miracles and you have listed fourteen. How about, Bread multiplied in 2Kings 4:43, this is separate from purifying the poisoned stew in 4:41 and, Opens the eyes of men(restoring sight) in 2Kings 6:20, which is different than the giving of special sight to the king's messenger in 6:16,17. In addition to the list you provided please add the two above and you have sixteen miracles for a double portion of Elijah given to Elisha. Bless you, Love Fountain |

143 | The Miracles of Elisha | 2 Kings | Love Fountain | 38584
Dear Makarios, You stated,"* Parts the Jordan River - 2 Kings 2:13-14 * Makes Jericho spring drinkable - 2 Kings 2:19-22 * Sends bears to punish irreverent youths - 2 Kings 2:23-25 * Floods ditches to confuse Moabites - 2 Kings 3:1-27 * Multiplies widow's oil - 2 Kings 4:1-7 * Shunammite woman bears a son - 2 Kings 4:8-17 * Resurrects Shunammite's son - 2 Kings 4:18-37 * Purifies poisoned stew - 2 Kings 4:38-44 * Heals Naaman's leprosy - 2 Kings 5:1-14 * Gehazi struck with leprosy - 2 Kings 5:15-27 * Floats lost axhead - 2 Kings 6:1-7 * Gives special sight to the king's messenger - 2 Kings 6:16-17 * Blinds the Aramean army - 2 Kings 6:8-23 * His bones resurrect a dead man - 2 Kings 13:20-21 [Taken from the Ryrie Study Bible Expanded Edition, 1995, The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, Charles Caldwell Ryrie, Th.D., Ph.D., pg. 586] - Makarios" Then you state," * Strike men with blindness - 2 Kings 6:18 " This is a double post. Striking men with blindness(2Kings 6:18) is the same as blinding the aramean army(2Kings 6:8-23) as you already stated. Elijah did 8 miracles and Elisha was given a double portion of Elijah's spirit and performed sixteen miracles not seventeen. I am confused why you brought up prime numbers? What is a prime number and what does this have to do with Elijah and Elisha? Isn't a double portion like saying 8 times 2 equals 16? The Bible says double portion, not double portion plus one. Bless you, Love Fountain |

144 | Explain Hebrew letters used in Psalm 119 | Psalm | Love Fountain | 37667
Dear panfararplvan, You might find the following of interest in regards to acrostics. VII. THE ACROSTIC PSALMS. There are nine examples of Acrostics in the Book of Psalms, while eleven other Acrostic Scriptures are found in the Old Testament 8. i. Psalms 9 and 10 are linked together by an Acrostic which, like "the times of trouble" (the great tribulation), of which the two Psalms treat, is purposely broken, and is irregular and out of joint. This Acrostic tells us that the subject of the two Psalms is one, and that they are to be connected together. See notes there on the many expressions common to both. ii. Psalm 25. Here, again, the Acrostic is designedly incomplete, a proof of its genuineness instead of its "corruption". No writer would or could omit a letter from carelessness. The Psalm has the same phenomena as Psalm 34, where the same letter (Vau equals V) is omitted, and the same letter (Pe equals P) is duplicated, in the word Padah, "redeem". The last verse is thus, in each case, made to stand out prominently by itself. iii.Psalm 34. See under ii., above. iv.Psalm 37. In this Psalm the series is perfect and complete. Every letter has two verses of lines each, except three: verses 7 (, Daleth equals D), 20 (, Kaph equals K), and 34 (, Koph equals K). v.Psalm 111. In this Psalm the series is complete. The Psalm has twenty-two lines, each line commending with the successive letters of the alphabet. vi.Psalm 112 is formed on the model of Psalm 111, the two Psalms forming a pair 9 ; Psalm 111 being occupied with Jehovah, and Psalm 112 with the man that revereth Jehovah. See the notes there. vii.Psalm 119. This Psalm consists of twenty-two groups, consisting of eight verses each. The eight verses in each group begin with same letter. For example: the first eight verses begin with (Aleph equals A), the eight verses of the second group with (Beth equals B), and so through the whole Psalm of 176 verses (8 x 22. See Appendix 10). It is impossible to reproduce this (or any of the other alphabetical Acrostics), seeing that the Hebrew and English alphabets do not correspond, either in equivalents, order, or number of the letters. It so happens that in the group beginning with T (verses 65-72), each verse in the Authorized Version does not begin with T, except verses 67 and 71. These can be readily conformed by changing "Before" to "Till" in verse 67; and "It is" to "Tis" in verse 71. The first letters being the same in both alphabets, can be thus presented: Ah! the happinessess of the perfect in the way, Such as walk by the Law of Jehovah. Ah! the happinessess of the keepers of His testimonies, Who seek Him with their whole heart. Assuredly they have not worked iniquity: In His ways they have ever walked. As to Thy commandments - Thou hast commanded us, That we should diligently keep them. Ah Lord, that my ways were prepared To keep Thy statutes; Ashamed, then, should I never be, While I have respect unto all Thy commandments. All my heart shall praise Thee in uprightness, While I learn the judgments of Thy righteousness. All Thy statutes also I will keep: Leave me not utterly. By what means shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word. By every means my heart hath sought Thee: Let me not err from Thy commandments. Besides, I have laid up Thy Word in my heart, That I might not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Jehovah: Teach me Thy statutes. By my lips have I recounted All the judgments of Thy mouth. By walking in Thy mandates' way,' I found joy beyond all wealth. By the precepts shall I guide my musings, And shall pore over Thy paths. By Thy statutes shall I be delighted: Thy Word I shall not forget. viii. Psalm 145. In this Psalm the Acrostic is perfect, with the exception of the letter (Nun equals N), which should come between verses 13 and 14. See note there. Through the infirmity of some transcriber, the verse was probably omitted by him. It must have been in the more ancient manuscripts, because it is preserved in the ancient Versions: videlicet, the Septuagint, Syriac,Arabic, Ethiopic, and Vulgate. One Hebrew Codex is known which contains it, as follows: "The LORD is faithful in all His words, And holy in all His works." Moreover, the Structure of the Psalm shows that it originally had its proper place in the Psalm. See the notes on Psalm 145:13,14. ix. For the other Acrotics in the Psalms, see the note on Psalm 96:11. The above is a portion of an appendix from a Companion Bible, from www.therain.org. Bless you, Love Fountain |

145 | What do we know about Satan? | Ps 109:6 | Love Fountain | 41161
Dear Hank, Many times in Scripture, students of the Bible are commanded to be obedient to the words of the Text. One such commandment is found in Matt 10:6, where we as students are directed to be wise as serpents, and within this commandment for obedience I find many opinions within the very pages of Scripture to answer a great question you have asked. A question that surprises me not to have had more participants, confirming the very real and visible existence of satan in our surrounding daily world. Satan is allowed to have many things which I believe can be answered primarily through the questions you have asked as follows, origin ----------- created by God Eze 28:15 nature ----------- a covering cherub Eze 28:16 powers ----------- wisdom - full of wisdom Eze 28:12; subtilty 2Cor 11:3 power - by the power of his brightness his wisdom is corrupted Eze 28:17; satan also has power to deceive by his subtilty 2Cor 11:3; satan offers Jesus power Luke 4:6 riches -every precious stone as a covering Eze 28:13; satan promises the world in a false promise to Jesus Luke 4:7 strength - strength can be seen in the ability to walk amongst the stones of fire Eze 28:14 or being perfect in his ways Eze 28:15; strength in the abillity to show Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time from the top of a mountain Luke 4:5 honour - annointed cherub Eze 28:14; called a king Rev 9:11 glory - heart lifted because of his own beauty Eze28:17; transformed into an angel of light 2Cor 11:14 Characteristics --------------------- greed - 1Tim 6:9,10 envy - Rom 1:29 powerful- the temptations of Matt 4 and Luke 4 and the ability to show and do things that satan did shows a great deal of power. To blind eyes 2Cor 4:4 jealous - he wants to be God Dan 11:36,Isa 14:13,14 I believe the aim of satan is to deceive all the creation into believing satan is God and that the creation can be as gods too if they follow and worship him. These are many things I believe Scripture teaches about satan in relation to your question. Bless you, Love Fountain 2 Tim 2:14-15 14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Dear Ray, Thank you for your answer! I really enjoyed reading the verses and comparisons you quoted. Bless you, Love Fountain Prov 8:10-12 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 149 | Doubleminded? | Ps 119:113 | Love Fountain | 30887
Is it considered being double minded when you act Christ like one minute and in the drop of a dime, turn around and act unchrist like? What do you think? If yes, why? If no, why? |

150 | Doubleminded? | Ps 119:113 | Love Fountain | 31355
Dear Searcher56, Thanks for your response. One of the verses you suggested I find great interest in because it tells a double minded person how to be purified. James 4:8 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. KJV Draw near to God's word and absorb it into your heart and be cleansed, is what I understand as the cure to doublemindedness. Bless you, Love Fountain |

152 | Please explain breastplate of righteous | Is 59:17 | Love Fountain | 40430
Dear ck1, The following is from a commentary, Isa 59:17 Isaiah 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. [For he put on righteousness] That is, God the Redeemer. The prophet here introduces him as going forth to vindicate his people clad like an ancient warrior. In the declaration that he 'put on righteousness,' the essential idea is, that he was pure and holy. The same image is used by the prophet in another figure in Isa 11:5 (see the notes at that place). [As a breastplate] The breastplate was a well-known piece of ancient armor, designed to defend the breast from the darts and the sword of an enemy. The design here is, to represent the Redeemer as a hero; and accordingly allusion is made to the various parts of the armor of a warrior. Yet he was not to be literally armed for battle. Instead of being an earthly conqueror, clad in steel, and defended with brass, his weapons were moral weapons, and his conquests were spiritual. The various parts of his weapons were 'righteousness.' 'salvation,' and 'zeal.' This statement should have been, in itself, sufficient to keep the Jews front anticipating a Messiah who would be a bloody warrior and distinguished for deeds of conquest and blood. This figure of speech is not uncommon. Paul (in Eph 6:14-17; compare 2 Cor 6:7) has carried it out to greater length, and introduced more particulars in the description of the spiritual armor of the Christian. (from Barnes' Notes, Electronic Database. Copyright (c) 1997 by Biblesoft) Bless you, Love Fountain Eph 6:10-17 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: KJV |

153 | Please explain breastplate of righteous | Is 59:17 | Love Fountain | 40744
Dear ck1, My sincerest wishes of comfort and blessing go to you and your family! You have some very deep questions that I believe can only be answered by the Word of our Father. We do need each other for fellowship, comfort, support and guidance among many other things, but ultimately your answers are in the Bible. If you don't understand at first it is ok, just keep reading and don't give up and watch the Scripture open up for you. If you have one specific question at a time, I will do my best to answer with Scripture if you'd like. Bless you from my heart, Love Fountain Matt 7:7-8 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 154 | Please explain breastplate of righteous | Is 59:17 | Love Fountain | 40749
Dear ck1, You state," I will become fully Armed as He would have me with no insecurity. I do believe. I am seeking, knocking, and ready to receive." Once you become fully armed with the Word in your heart and mind, you will find the following as a description of how we are to be in the following verses, Col 3:12-17 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. KJV Bless you, Love Fountain Eph 6:14-17 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: KJV |

155 | pre-existence | Jer 1:5 | Love Fountain | 41088
Dear crv464, Jer 1:5 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. KJV If God foreknew Jeremiah before he was in the flesh of the womb and the Scriptures in 1Cor 15:44 say we have two bodies, one physical(flesh) and one spiritual, both separate and distinct from each other. One is corruptible and one is incorruptible. What body would Jeremiah be in if flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven and he was already known by God before being in the flesh? The Hebrew word for "I knew thee" in Jer 1:5 is OT:3045 yada (yaw-dah'); a primitive root; to know (properly, to ascertain by seeing); used in a great variety of senses, figuratively, literally, euphemistically and inferentially (including observation, care, recognition; and causatively, instruction, designation, punishment, etc.) [as follow]: (Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.) Bless you, Love Fountain Rom 11:2-5 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. KJV |

156 | What do people boast about? Why? | Jer 9:23 | Love Fountain | 27610
Dear searcher56, You ask,"what things do people boast about today?", I'd say, wisdom, might and riches, these are three things which men boast of, and trust in. This was Jerusalem's sin and I believe it is still the same in our time today. I think the answer to your question,"what to boast?", is in verse 24 of this chapter: Jer 9:24 But let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows Me, that I am Lord, who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the Lord.(NIV) Hope this helps. 157 | What do people boast about? Why? | Jer 9:23 | Love Fountain | 27787
Dear searcher, Happy Holidays! No, I am deeply saddened that there is not much change since then in the way people behave and boast. I love and believe in Jesus and am very grateful for the forgiveness of sins, which He accomplished for us. I really like Jer 9:24 when God says boast that you know Me, which is what makes Him happy. The only way we can truly know Him is by reading the Word He graciously has given to us to know Him by. Jesus lives! Bless you, Love Fountain |

158 | Where are the people of Dan 11:32 in NT? | Dan 11:32 | Love Fountain | 35121
Dan 11:32-36 32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. 36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. KJV The people that do know there God who will be strong and do exploits and "they that understand among the people shall instruct many" in the book of Daniel are who in the New Testament? Since this is about a future time when antichrist shall stand up, who are these people that know their God and what is it they understand which they will need to instruct many? Bless you for your thoughts, Love Fountain |

159 | Where are the people of Dan 11:32 in NT? | Dan 11:32 | Love Fountain | 35130

160 | Where are the people of Dan 11:32 in NT? | Dan 11:32 | Love Fountain | 35176
Dear Benjamite, Thanks for your response. When you say,"11:36 then begins the description of the Antichrist's career." This is still future from OUR standpoint (as the rest of it was also future from Daniel's), this belief is confusing to me. For one reason is Dan 11:21 - Dan 12:3 is what I believed to be future for "us". Please read in verse 21 that the antichrist is called "a vile person" in the KJV, which is one of twelve titles given to the antichrist. Who else could this be? I also would like to know which two commentaries I can read that say future is from Dan 11:36 on and that Dan 11:21 - 35 are past. Many scholars believe that in Dan 11:31, "take away the daily sacrifice", marks the middle of the "week" or the last seven years. Many believe from this point the antichrist is energized by satan. My question still stands, who are the people from Dan 11:32 who know their God and do exploits and where are they in the New Testament with reference to the end time? Bless you, Love Fountain |
