122 | Forgiveness and salvation | Matt 5:20 | seedling | 175914
Matthew 6:9-15...And the last couple of verses struck me...I'd never really noticed the gravity of what they really said... "(9)"This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, (10)your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (11)Give us today our daily bread. (12)Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (13)And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' (14)For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (15)But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." If it's really saying that unforgiveness voids out salvation and if so then why isn't more emphasis put on forgiveness??? Shouldn't people know that forgiveness is virtually as important as faith itself??? P.S. I'd really love some biblical proof of anything you think on the subject...Seedling |

123 | What exactly does this scripture mean? | Matt 8:22 | seedling | 153931
BradK, Wow, The Tyndale commentary puts the verse in a whole different light. I never saw the dead as spiritual dead before. I got the meaning this way... let those who are going to die bury the ones that died but you need to follow me now! Can the verse be also interperted this way instead of amplifying it? Seedling |

124 | Is saying you are a god unforgiveable? | Matt 12:32 | seedling | 169721
Hi You need to look at two portions of scriptures...Psalms82:6 and John 10:34- 39... As born again christians, we are not claiming to be God, but God's children. Therefor we are not blaspheming but are witnesses. There is a large difference between god with a little g and God with a big G. Does anyone else have thoughts on this. The unforgiveable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit...Matthew 12:31-32. Seedling |

Proverbs 16:24 Proverbs 17:22 Remember Jesus won't lay on us more than we can handle. I can't right now find that verse. It is good that you are taking care of your hurt son. 134 | Judas | Luke 23:43 | seedling | 172068
I am in a discussion on if Judas could be in heaven. The person recited John 17:12. But during his last moments on earth if he asked for forgiveness, could Judas be in Heaven? God's love and understanding is that great. Or did he sinned asgainst the Holy Spirit? Seedling |

135 | Judas | Luke 23:43 | seedling | 172167
On statement 5. I see Judas repentance, but do you think that the suicide was from the guilt he felt. And Satan just kept tormenting him with guilt. Didn't his actions prove his repentance? I guess I never heard of false repentance before...Because after repenting a person can fall into the same trap and sin again but try not to. |

136 | Judas | Luke 23:43 | seedling | 172187
Thanks Doc. With this verse 2 Cor 7:10, I can see now how Judas' reprentance or regret was not one that leads to salvation. But what of Saul when he was on the road to Damascas...He was not following Christ at that time and the Lord forgave him of all the things he done against the church and believers. What about the theif on the cross? I know faith is a gift and I am thrilled that God gave it to me, knowing the fate of Judas, pharoah and others. I do believe God did give these and everyone a chance ...Titus 2:11 Also,Jesus must of had great patience with Judas knowing the future and that Judas would betray him. Sorry if I'm rambling. Learning a lot thru this question of Judas this past week. Seedling |

137 | Free gift of God | John 3:15 | seedling | 152592
Hi Janae, John 10:28 says... And I will give them eternal life and they shall never perish: neither shall anyone shall snatch them out of MY hands. There is also another verse states that no principalities nor trials and tribulations can take us from God's hands. Does anyone know where that verse is? Look up Eph 1:13-14... once we believe we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. I imagine it would be difficult and probably impossible to break that seal. Seedling |

139 | Free gift of God | John 3:15 | seedling | 152694
Doc The term unregenerate is interesting, I never heard of it before. I know that Faith is a free gift. A person I know had great faith at one time but is now very small. That person has lead people to the Lord. I pray for that person a lot but are there any verses that might help my prayers or that person. |

Thanks for yor answer. I read your post 151193 and will read it many more times for greater understanding. This person still has faith but it is ' hanging by a thread'. Another person I saw threw his Bible down and walked away. That person is in my prayers also. I rely on the verse Romans 8: 38-39 alot when I think of these people and ask God to let me and my family be faithful always. Seedling |
