In Rom 3:10-12, Paul was quoting Psalm 14:1-3. In v11, Paul says 'there is none that seek after God'. Is this quote in another passage of scripture? In v10, Paul says there is none righteous. Who is the generation of the righteous in Psalm 14:5? Thanks in advance to those who may respond... :) Abba Father Bless... |

125 | What is meant by praying in the spirit? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59233
Here is what I understand to be praying in the spirit: For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody]. Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also. 129 | please, where do races come from ? | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59214
Good Morning Tim Here is a scripture: And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), Acts 17:26 But if your friend thinks the bible is 'bunk', I'm not sure giving her scriptures from the bible will help her receive the truth. Acts 16:14, tells us of Lydia 'whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul' KJV. While Lydia was already a worshipper of God and your friend isn't(I'm assuming here :)! ), maybe you could pray that God would open her heart as He opened Lydia's. Abba Father Bless... |

130 | Does God forgive you for divorce | 1 Corinthians | mbooker | 59211
Good Morning Ames I Corinthians 7 may be one passage of scripture that can help you. I don't know if your husband is a believer or not but vv13-15 may help answer your question: And if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he consents to live with her, she should not leave or divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is set apart (separated, withdrawn from heathen contamination, and affiliated with the Christian people) by union with his consecrated (set-apart) wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart and separated through union with her consecrated husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean (unblessed heathen, outside the Christian covenant), but as it is they are prepared for God [pure and clean]. But if the unbelieving partner [actually] leaves, let him do so; in such [cases the remaining] brother or sister is not morally bound. But God has called us to peace. Amp Malachi 2 may be a passage you could read also. Especially vv 14-16: Yet you ask, Why does He reject it? Because the Lord was witness [to the covenant made at your marriage] between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously and to whom you were faithless. Yet she is your companion and the wife of your covenant [made by your marriage vows]. And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God make you two] one? Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one deal treacherously and be faithless to the wife of his youth. For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]. Amp Abba Father Bless you... |

131 | Virgin Bride of Christ | 1 Cor 14:34 | mbooker | 58892
Good Morning Can you tell me where the church is described as the bride of Christ? I did a search and this is what I found: Revelation 21:9-10 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, |

134 | Church is kidnapped to Sodom! | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58671
Good Morning Brother Tim! I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your posts. I have seen instances where you have disagreed with a poster, but the way you do it... it(your post) just over flows with gentleness that it takes me a moment to realize you are disagreeing!! :) 2 Tim 2:23-24 seems to describe you... And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; Thank you for providing a good example for me! 135 | 508, Are you a DQed overseer? | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58650
Good morning Jesusfreak Boy! This is quite an interesting topic. And I will admit it... I too tend to lean more toward mercy and compassion (not that the others are unkind or unloving). Maybe because I'm a woman!! LOL Micah 6:8 says He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? This is a scripture that I meditate on and the 'love mercy' has really impacted me. A few of my friends do have the opinion that I am too 'soft'. :) And with a topic like this and with all the scriptures that have been posted, I seek to rightly divide the Word of Truth. In a conversation with a brother yesterday, Gal 6:1 was brought up then I wondered when do you 'deliver such an one unto Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus' and when do 'those that are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekenss; considering thyself, lest thous also be tempted'. Jesus is called the Lamb of God (John 1:29,36) and He's called the Lion of Judah (Rev 5:5) A lamb and a lion! Talk about a contrast! LOL Since He is our perfect example, I want to learn when to be a lamb (deal gently) and when to be a lion (arrhhhh! deal sharply) LOL! Forever learning, forever growing... May you be abundantly blessed today... :) Abba Father bless... Meredith |

136 | Church is kidnapped to Sodom! | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58584
Good Afternoon Brother John! I am still not quite sure at what point a leader should be removed, especially given the scenario you gave in your post (What if he falls again, is the process then repeated). I am trying to study the passage Kalos posted earlier (I Cor 5). Your statement “Even if the fallen Pastor repents, Why should'nt he be removed from his leadership position?” is what made me think of David. And as Kalos pointed out, David repented. Now I’m not saying that this particular pastor should remain if he has repented. I was just posting my thought process and not attempting to answer your question. Abba Father bless… Meredith |

137 | Church is kidnapped to Sodom! | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58573
Good Morning All!! I have been reading through this thread. And after reading John's post, I asked myself 'Do we have examples in scripture where someone in leadership was removed then restored back to that position?' Then Saul and David came to mind. Saul was rejected from being king because of rebellion (I Sam 15:1-29) and was not restored. But then David, who lay with Uriah's wife, was never removed from being king. Just wanted to share my thoughts... :) Abba Father bless... |

139 | Hi JesusFreak | 1 Cor 14:34 | mbooker | 58555
Good Morning JesusFreak I wanted to let you know that I appreciate you posting this. I also appreciate you pointing out the "as also saith the law" in this verse. I have read this before and this is the first time I took notice of the reference to the law! :) Also wanted to let you know that I will be walking thru these scriptures myself and asking the Holy Spirit to led me that I may have a clearer understanding. I am wondering… In v 23, Paul talks about the whole church coming together and speaking with tongues. Then he says that if the unlearned or unbeliever come in, they would think the church mad. Then he talks about all prophesying and the unlearned or unbeliever being convinced of all (v24) and worshipping God (v25). Then down in v28, he says if there is no interpreter, let him that speak in a tongue keep silent in the church. Then he tells them they may prophesy one by one, that all may learn ad be exhorted (v31). Then he lets us know that the spirit of the prophet are subject to the prophet ("For the spirits of the prophets (the speakers in tongues) are under the speaker's control [and subject to being silenced as may be necessary]’ v 32 Amp) Then... :) he tells us that God is not the author of confusion. Then we have 'Let your women keep silence...' I am wondering if 1. The women were up speaking in tongues with no interpreter 2. The women were trying to prophesy while someone else was prophesying, thus causing confusion. 3. The women were asking questions (v35) 4. This chapter was addressed to only the men of the church (‘Let your women keep silence’) Goodness! The questions keep coming. :) Any insight others are led to share would be appreciated. And if my questions have already been answered somewhere else on this site, please forgive me :). Abba Father Bless… |
