Blessings to ALL, What a wonderful forum we all have here. Its so nice to see bretheren loving on each other with encouragement and exhortations!! Hope you dont mind if I put in my two mites. The Lord admonished us to keep an eye out during this time throughout the NT and in the OT. We find in Proverbs 15:28a, "The heart of the righteous studies how to answer...". The only way for us to know when what we hear or see being promoted as GOD is to look at the PLUMB line. the BIBLE. In order for us to know a counterfeit;we need to know what the TRUE is. Staying in HIS Word is the most important factor in all this. Finding study helps to guide you thru is important for all Disciples. Using a Strongs Exhaustive Concordance and a Vines Complete Expository Dictionary will be most helpful with personal studies. As you grow - other helps are available to us. Like this website. Learn also, to keep only that which is "..noble, lovely, profitable" and cast off that which is not. Godspeed to you all, Discipled *SHALOM* |

122 | Why LJC instead of just Jesus? | Acts 16:31 | The Disciple | 27250
Peace ALL, The name of GOD is very HOLY to the Hebrew and G_d is usually written in a incomplete manner. The L_rd is a very important and AWESOME name to them. This is done respectfully to who HE is and who they are. The Master and the clay, etc. In the O.T.: El Shaddai, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Nissi, and the other names stated throughout are in reference to who G_d was/is/will be. Each reference of HIS name can be seen as a character of who HE is and the attribute HE personified to the individual(s). As you read of HIS names maybe you too can think of when HE was Jehovah Shalom...the Lord of Peace during a time you needed peace. Or when HE was your Banner when you needed a forerunner. HIS name is most remarkable when you make it personal to yourself. Did you notice that when the Christ child was to be born we were told HE would be "called" Emmanuelle? "God with Us". Yet HIS name is "Jesus" - Joshua(Jeshua) which means Jehovah-saved. With Emmanuelle can we assume that it wasnt HIS name but HIS character we were being taught? If so, then can Jesus be the fulfillment of all the names of G_d in the OT and the attributes of HIS name? Be a Berean: Acts 17:11 ... Lord dont let me convolute the story ... *SHALOM* |

124 | Can one loose their salvation ? | Bible general Archive 1 | The Disciple | 27246
Hank, I agree with all you say about first and foremost importance is our relationship with HIM. Also, the NKJV and NASV are my usual course for study. It would seem we have the same mind in that respects, and of course not trying to make the other translations, transliterations, etc seem any less important. These of course are just a personal choice for the grammatical and literal sense. And for you to think your not of a caliber to be emulated...well...how about being a mentor instead? Which was what I was trying to say. *LOL* I too have a passion for prose but my structure is something to be desired. I dont want to go back to school for its been a few too many years since ive been there. And so far as I can see, since becoming a child of Christ, (1991) ive found my learning more on my own; drastically at a higher level and standard than what ive learned in the past from school. But my punctuation and use of sentences are minimal in understanding. I like teaching myself and have been a mentor to others over the years with wonderful blessings from HIM thru it all. Know this Hank, you are a mentor if others just want to read and grasp your heart of what you read. (You may not know your one). Hope we can correspond about Biblical dealings, questions that are hard to grasp personally and/or for others. josh2415@bigfoot.com is not my name...its Joshua 24:15 "...as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." .....Lord dont let me convolute the story..... Lanny, Thats quite a interesting verse indeed. Castaway is defined in NKJV as disqualified and a cross ref is Jeremiah 6:30. I wonder if vs 27 Jer6 "..that you may know and test their way" casts a shadow on the person being tested? As in 1Cor9:11...."..those who are approved". Found to be believers of the True and not the heresies or NKJV says "factions"? What I think I am seeing is the LORD helping us to see it from HIS perspective. And not from our human perspective. With the LORD as THE "author and finisher of our faith" ...I would rather see HIS perspective in the case of my salvation. In that verse, "But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself have become disqualified." is Paul talking about salvation or is he addressing what others are testing: his qualifications of being a teacher, apostle, etc? His reputation seems to have been in question from the start of his ministry. After all, in Acts 17:11 he tells us the Bereans were more "noble" than the Thessolinicans. They tested all his teachings by scrutinizing from the their Bible to make sure what he was saying lined up. Personally, I dont think Paul was referring to salvation in this case. I would consider this to be personal to his ministry. Prov 15:28b was probably something Paul held dear. ....Lord dont let me convolute the story.... *SHALOM* |

Kalos, It would seem those who dialogue in here are just like the people i run into from time to time. And I too have been caught up in seeing more into a question or wondering why someone didnt give a better or more meaningful explanation. YET, we may find the simplest answers are the best and probably more in tune to how the Lord would have answered them. That is unless you go into parables ...ehehehe...for an answer. I certainly would enjoy further correspondence from you if you care to .... for me...iron sharpens iron as one man does for another....rightly dividing the word is what i desire the most(i hate to convolute the Word if i can help it) . I have found some very provacative words from many others in this forum and i would enjoy dialogue with anyone who cares to...so here is my email address. josh2415@bigfoot.com i am considering changing my nickname....its current status makes me sound like im a done product...when i am not...i should probably change it to BeingDiscipled....or something to that effect. I should have considered a bit more thought before making it my nick. My apologies to anyone to whom may think I am being arrogant using the past tense term. *Shalom* |

TO ALL: I truly LOVE this question. This question has caused more debate in my life than most anything I've heard. Trust me when I say..I dont know the answer. But my question to ask about this debate is: Can we outsin Grace? dark_lard - the lambs book of life is a good positon to take for this debate. My question to you would be. If in John 3:16 God gave His Son for you and me and the rest of the world. Would not all of the world be included in this book? You see, I notice that this book has already been written with the names. Hence, someones name being taken out. But I would have to presume that IF I dont accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior that is when it will be blotted out. Does not all which transpires at the time of judgement depend on our position of who Jesus is to us personally? Is that not ONLY what the Father wants from us? Obedience and salvation work hand in hand. If we obey the Father in that we believe His Son is Jesus ...what more is needed for salvation? Works is not a need to get to heaven is it?....Lord dont let me convolute the story...**PEACE** |

Nolan and Rapturedon, We find in Luke 16:19-31 Jesus describing what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. And for the listeners of that time he described it as being Abrahams bosom. Or "paradise" as Jesus called it from the cross to the other lawbreaker next to Him. I would rather ask in question form instead of seeming to know what the answer is. Can we view this parable of Jesus as what heaven will be like for us? Significantly, vs' 23, "..saw Abraham"; meaning he had a physical sense and also recognized someone he never met. vs24, "..cool my tongue"; another sense being utilized in heaven? Taste and sensation. and lest we forget the rest of the verses, in all of them their is speech. We can also see a use of thought and reasoning. Can we now see that not only will we have all of our sensories but we will KNOW others in heaven? ...Lord dont let me convolute the story...**PEACE** |

Don, I've found in 1 Corintihians 13: vs12 specifically, that we will know all and they will know us. "When that which is perfect has come.." vs10 - this passage has been quibbled about for years about this being the Lord or the canonical scripture. For me, the Christ is the only thing that can be perfect. And according to Revelation the 7 thunders havent been written about. So the scripture is not complete. That is, according John the Revelator. Back to your question. In the Corinthian letter chapter 13 is regarded as the LOVE letter and it discusses what is temporal and what is eternal. Love being that which is non failing being eternal. In vs10, the second part says, "..then that which is in part will be done away.". In part being NOT complete. But that which is perfect is complete. Vs12, we will see, "...face to face". This to me is when we will see and know all things. hope i didnt convolute the story....*PEACE* |
