John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible**** http://www.gospelcom.net/eword/comments/luke/gill/luke12.htm****** Verse 32. Fear not little flock,.... these words are particularly directed to the immediate apostles and disciples of Christ; but are true of all the saints in all ages of time, who are compared to a "flock of sheep," being separated from the rest of the world in election, redemption, and the effectual calling, and being folded together in a Gospel church state; and also for their patience, meekness, humility, and harmlessness: these are a "little" flock; few in number, when compared with the wicked of the world; and mean and despicable in the account of men; and little in their own eyes: these are subject to many "fears"; some relate to their outward state, and condition, as that they shall want food and raiment, and not have the necessaries of life; which seems to be in the first place here intended, as appears from the context: and some regard their spiritual and eternal estate, as lest they should have no interest in the love of God, and in the covenant, in the blessings and promises of his grace; lest they should not belong to Christ; or the good work of grace should not be begun in them; or that they should not persevere to the end, and should at last miscarry of eternal life and happiness: and these fears arise from a body of sin, from the temptations of Satan, the hidings of God's face, and the prevalence of unbelief; for they have no true reason for them: God is on their side, and will not leave, nor forsake them, nor shall they want any good thing Christ is their shepherd, and he has bought them, with his own blood, and will lose none of them; and therefore they need not fear being taken care of both in soul and body, for time and eternity: and especially when what follows is considered, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom; not only the Gospel, and the knowledge of the mysteries of it; nor the Gospel church state, and a right to all its ordinances; nor only the kingdom of grace, which cannot be moved; but the kingdom of glory: and which is a gift unto them, not obtained by any deserts or works of theirs; nor is their right unto, and enjoyment of it depending upon any such thing: and it their Father's gift, who is so by adopting grace, and through Christ Jesus their Lord; and which he gives according to his sovereign will and pleasure, and with a good will, delighting in them, and rejoicing over them to do them good, both here and hereafter: so that they may depend upon every good thing needful for them both in this world, and in the world to come; nor should they indulge anxious cares, or slavish fears |

John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible**** http://www.gospelcom.net/eword/comments/luke/gill/luke14.htm ***** Verse 26. If any man come to me,.... Not in a corporeal, but in a spiritual way; nor barely to hear him preach; but so come, as that he believes in him, applies to him for grace, pardon, righteousness, life, and salvation; professes to be his, submits to his ordinances, and desires to be a disciple of his; and hate not his father and mother, and wife and children, and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple: not that proper hatred of any, or all of these, is enjoined by Christ; for this would be contrary to the laws of God, to the first principles of nature, to all humanity, to the light of nature, to reason and divine revelation: but that these are not to be preferred to Christ, or loved more than he, as it is explained in Matthew 10:37 yea, these are to be neglected and forsaken, and turned from with indignation and resentment, when they stand in the way of the honour and interest of Christ, and dissuade from his service: such who would be accounted the disciples of Christ, should be ready to part with their dearest relations and friends, with the greatest enjoyment of life, and with life itself, when Christ calls for it; or otherwise they are not worthy to be called his disciples. The Ethiopic version inserts, "his house," into the account. |

127 | What is to be understood or what maybe t | Luke 16:8 | Jeshuafreak | 52722
John Wesley comentery: http://www.gospelcom.net/eword/comments/luke/mhc/luke16.htm Verses 1-12 Whatever we have, the property of it is God's; we have only the use of it, according to the direction of our great Lord, and for his honour. This steward wasted his lord's goods. And we are all liable to the same charge; we have not made due improvement of what God has trusted us with. The steward cannot deny it; he must make up his accounts, and be gone. This may teach us that death will come, and deprive us of the opportunities we now have. The steward will make friends of his lord's debtors or tenants, by striking off a considerable part of their debt to his lord. The lord referred to in this parable commended not the fraud, but the policy of the steward. In that respect alone is it so noticed. Worldly men, in the choice of their object, are foolish; but in their activity, and perseverance, they are often wiser than believers. The unjust steward is not set before us as an example in cheating his master, or to justify any dishonesty, but to point out the careful ways of worldly men. It would be well if the children of light would learn wisdom from the men of the world, and would as earnestly pursue their better object. The true riches signify spiritual blessings; and if a man spends upon himself, or hoards up what God has trusted to him, as to outward things, what evidence can he have, that he is an heir of God through Christ? The riches of this world are deceitful and uncertain. Let us be convinced that those are truly rich, and very rich, who are rich in faith, and rich toward God, rich in Christ, in the promises; let us then lay up our treasure in heaven, and expect our portion from thence. 16:8 And the lord commended a the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the b children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. (a) This parable does not approve the steward's evil dealing, for it was definitely theft: but parables are set forth to show a thing in a secret way, and as it were, to present the truth by means of an allegory, even though it may not be exact: so that by this parable Christ means to teach us that worldly men are more clever in the affairs of this world than the children of God are diligent for everlasting life. (b) Men that are given to this present life, contrary to whom are the children of light: Paul calls the former carnal and the latter spiritual.------------- The Geneva Study Bible states------- http://www.gospelcom.net/eword/comments/luke/geneva/luke16.htm 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon c of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting d habitations. (c) This is not spoken of goods that are gotten wrongly, for God will have our bountifulness to the poor proceed and come from a good fountain: but he calls those things riches of iniquity which men use wickedly. (d) That is, the poor Christians: for they are the inheritors of these habitations; Theophylact.----------- John Gill's Exposition is quite lengthy read it at the site-------http://www.gospelcom.net/eword/comments/luke/gill/luke16.htm----Jeshuafreak |

128 | Is baptism required for salvation? | John 3:5 | Jeshuafreak | 52153
If baptism was required for salvation the thief on the cross would not have been in paradise with Jesus. Also Jesus said, "It is finished." There is nothing else we have to do to be saved, except to believe upon God's Son Jesus Christ. As an outward expression and obedience to God we are baptized as an open profession of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Get baptized out of obedience to Christ. |

129 | Is baptism required for salvation? | John 3:5 | Jeshuafreak | 52200
I was trying to make a point that NOT being baptized will not keep you from heaven. Another point I must make is that baptism doesn't guarantee that one is saved. Some have been baptized who are not yet saved, they did it for show, to please men rather than God, and they have not had a true conversion of the heart. It is ultimately down to an issue of the heart. "Man looks on the outward appearence but God sees the heart." "Confess Me before men and I will confess you before my Father in heaven"- Jesus said Confessing Christ before others is really what is at stake here. Yes, baptism is an essential part of your being born again. Don't anyone misunderstand me. Yes, I have been baptized. Three times in fact. I have been trice dipped and for three different occasions all as an outward sign of an internal conversion, or as a rededication of my life to Christ. Don't, by any many means, neglect being baptized if you are a born again believer. But if you know of one who has not yet been baptized, and they are a true believer in Christ, and for some odd reason they died before they had the chance to be baptized, they have not been disqualified for that reason. If they had a genuine faith they will see the kingdom of God. Now, if you are a true believer by all means get baptized, by submersion and not just a sprinkle...lol. Confess Jesus Christ openly to others, by this act. I got a few more things to say before I end this. St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach Christ and if you have to, use words." I add to that in my words, NOTHING SPEAKS LOUDER THAN A CHANGED LIFE! Live your faith out in practical everyday living and don't forget to smile, laugh and touch others lovingly. It can make a world of difference in their lives and in yours. Be Jesus to them. To some, their only exposure to Christianity is you. Be loving, gentle and kind but never compromise on your convictions, stand up for truth and what is right. This will not make you popular but it will make you known for integrity, which is something lacking in this day and age. It's not "What Would Jesus Do", it's "what would Jesus have me" do that counts. In His service. Love and hugs.-Joshua Olinger |

130 | What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? | John 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 55231
One Nation Under Gods by Richard Abanes ***Who are the Mormons and what do they believe? How did Mormonism begin? Is Mormonism just another Christian denomination seeking the world’s betterment, as it claims, or is it an entirely different kind of theological institution? Was Joseph Smith a prophet? One Nation Under Gods: A History of the Mormon Church answers these and other questions associated with the origin, rise, and progress of Mormonism in America from its earliest beginnings as a nineteenth century “cult” to its current image as a conservative Christian denomination. One Nation Under Gods also documents several of the more fascinating, and rarely discussed, events that shaped Mormonism. One Nation Under Gods will appeal to anyone interested in Mormon history, cults, the religious evolution of the United States, and humanity's perennial desire to find spiritual fulfilment -- a desire too often pursued at any cost. 650 Page Hardbound Book *** http://store.equip.org/cstore/ |

131 | What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? | John 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 55296
http://www.carm.org/lds/compare.htm "A Comparison Between Christian Doctrine and Mormon Doctrine "Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it and see if it will stand the test" (Brigham Young, May 18, 1873, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 16, page 46.) Following is a comparison between Christian doctrine and Mormon doctrine. It will become very obvious that Mormonism does not agree with the Bible. In fact, Mormonism has simply used the same words found in Christianity and redefined them. But with a proper understanding of what Mormonism really teaches, you will be able to see past those definitions into the real differences between Christianity and Mormonism. The difference is the difference between eternal life and damnation." *****This is all you will need short and simple...print it up and be prepared.. -Jeshuafreak |

132 | where did this teaching come from? | Acts 2:37 | Jeshuafreak | 52817
Ray- Thank you for your passion on what is truelly important. I agree with you about leaving behind the trivial and press forward to what is truelly significant. With that said I must maintain that water baptism , though it won't negate you from the entrance into heaven it is something we must do as a result of our conversion to a Holy Spirit filled life. We are baptized publicly to confess to all that we are buried with Christ and resurected with Him to eternal glory. If you are able, and I assume you are in a healthy well balanced church, than by all means be baptized. Again I thank you for your passion. May God illuminate your heart and mind with His Word. -Jeshuafreak |

133 | Predestination of each individual? | Rom 8:29 | Jeshuafreak | 52853
Romans 8 (NIV)********* 28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[1] who[2] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?********** Ephesians 1 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he[1] predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. ******* Ephesians 1 10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 11In him we were also chosen,[1] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. ******* And that is all i found Hope this helped you.****SEARCH HERE**** http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible/ |

134 | prayer to God for the (Roman Catholics) | Rom 10:1 | Jeshuafreak | 52699
Romans 10---- 1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Romans 10 To The Roman Catholics or other religious people 1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the (Roman Catholics) is that they may be saved. 135 | what to say to those who smoke weed? | Rom 13:3 | Jeshuafreak | 53406
I am an ex-pot smoker. I quit because I knew in my heart God didn't want me to smoke pot. On another note, if it hadn't been for my pot smoking Christian friends I would not have even considered becoming a Christian. Strange how God works. He causes all things, good and bad, to work together. Well I got convicted in my heart because it had become an idol to me. I couldn't go a day or two without it. I was a slave to marijuana. This was one of many things in my life that had me bound. We should all make application. We all have things that are trying to rise up as high places in our lives. Now I got the same argument with my friends saying they don't see anything wrong with it and that it is not sin. There are many places where this "herb" is not illegal. Would it be ok for me to smoke it then and there? Not for me, because God has spoken to me on this. So even if it became legal in my town I wouldn't be able to smoke it. I do however know from experience that a little puff doesn't make me out of control. I can smoke it without getting wasted. Just as I can have a drink of an alcoholic beverage w/out getting drunk. It all boils down to this . Do I have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Is He speaking to your heart about the areas (the crafty little foxes of compromise) in your life that are robbing you of quality time spent with Jesus. We cannot serve both masters.***** (Matthew 6 23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. )**** I know the verse talks about money but alot of the Bible has application to all the areas of our lives. Just as an id ol need not be a physical golden calf we bow down to. An idol can be any of the high places we set up in our lives and those high places we burn incense to. I see incense refering to our time, talent and treasure being wasted upon these vain pursuits. Again anything that rises up above God in our lives becomes an idol. Can you live without that thing, person or experince? You will not surely die. Tear down those high places. (1 Thessalonians 1 8The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.) |

137 | Is premarital sex a sin? | 1 Corinthians | Jeshuafreak | 52859
sex was designed for marriage. The Bible condemns not only adultery, but premarital sex, or fornication (Mk 7:21; Eph 5:5; Heb 13:4). The wisdom of our Christian tradition teaches us that only the complete commitment to one another that comes with marriage is the proper setting for sexual intimacy. Marriage is much more than just "a piece of paper." It is only in marriage that we publicly give ourselves to each other, belong to each other, become responsible for one another, "in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health," all the days of our lives******** http://www.brasstacks.org/premarital-sex/tant.htm (here is what I found for you.) "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (I Corinthians 6:18). |

The Holy Spirit is not an it He is a He. He is God and tongues is AN evidence not THE evidence......And WE RECIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. If have excepted Christ as your Lord and Savior you have the Holy Spirit. YOU SAID******"Yes it is! I am a Pentecostal, and we believe that the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost(Spirit) is tongues. When you receive the Holy Ghost you are actually accepting Jesus Christ into you, and once It is in you It tells you what to say. Oft times it is a Heavenly language and no one can understand it, and other times it is in a different language that you do not know how to talk but someone who speaks that language can understand you a receive what God has for them through you. It is very much real and very much for today. I have myself received the Holy Ghost and it is the most wonderful feeling you will ever experience. It is Scriptural too!
