121 | Is it wrong to have a passionate kiss? | 1 Thess 4:5 | terrib | 112167
Dear Justme, I appreciate your words. In this kind of situation we can only go by what the questioner says. I try to listen to what they are actually saying and try to respond to what God has told me or what I have experienced in my own life. We ALL know what power the flesh can have over us and we know what we have to do to overcome it. If a person is so inclined to ask questions on this forum we must realize that they are not here by accident. God has sent them here. If any of us can help, it is our duty to lead them in the direction that God commands. If we are silent the judgement could come back on us. God will bless you also, terrib |

122 | Center of my Life? | Ps 118:8 | terrib | 112122
Hi Punkiedo, Being attacked (not happened yet) does not bother me for I know there are only two religions in this world - God's and Satan's. By the way, there will not be any Pentecostals in Heaven nor will there be any Baptists there nor any other branch by which they have been named, only Christians. So that part I understand and forbear. Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. I have not checked out that piece of trivia either but thought it was interesting. I do know that chapter and verse numbering is not in the original manuscripts but interesting none the less. Thanks for your response. I did read your profile. Welcome aboard! terrib |

123 | Center of my Life? | Ps 118:8 | terrib | 112110
Dear members, I know this is not a trivia forum, but this is too amazing to pass up. Q: What is the shortest chapter in the Bible? A: Psalms 117 Q: What is the longest chapter in the Bible? A: Psalms 119 Q: Which chapter is in the center of the Bible? A: Psalms 118 Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118 Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118 Add these numbers up and you get 1188. Q: What is the center verse in the Bible? A: Psalms 118:8 Q: Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives? The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word! Psalms 118:8 (NKJV) "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Now isn't that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)? terrib |

124 | How "mature" in Christ are we today? | 1 Cor 3:1 | terrib | 111097
Greetings Brother TommyS, You wrote, "And this portion of my life seems to be more desert than anything." Well, you are in Great company! Many of the Lord's greatest works were in that desert place. Consider Moses, the exhortation of Isaiah, our Lord Himself and the children of Israel: Exo 3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. Deu 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Isa 35:1, 2 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. Isa 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Mar 6:31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. Joh 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. These are just a few of times in the desert, for in the desert are few distractions and we can hear better. The desert keeps us lean and ready. Without the desert we become Jeshurun: Deu 32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. Bless your desert and keep true, God is doing a work! terrib |

125 | How "mature" in Christ are we today? | 1 Cor 3:1 | terrib | 111078
Hello TommyS, Jesus said: Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. A true meaning of this "mansions" could be the word "placements" or "positions". In my Father's house are many places (because of individual gifts that I have bestowed upon My creation and each person is an individual and I will take him into My house and place him where he will best fit). As Paul states: Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. "by that which every joint supplieth" equals what gifts we have. "effectual working in the measure of every part" equals using what God gave us. Our Father knows our rate of growth and He will lead us (not push) to the next level. The disciples ate and drank and lived with God for three years and some of them still didn't know exactly who He was. Don't be hard on yourself and don't do too much self diagnostics for there is one out there that would enjoy in getting us turned inward thus making us to forget our first love. We would call that worshipping the creature more than the Creator. All things have there time and we can not judge ourselves by looking at someone else, because we are all different. Enjoy the day and say "This is the day the Lord hath made, I will be glad and rejoyce in it". Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Don't sweat the small stuff, terrib |

126 | what happened ? | Bible general Archive 2 | terrib | 110820
Dearest bloodofjesus, (Rom 11:28 KJV) As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Paul uses the term enemies here because they rejected The Christ. (Mat 12:30 KJV) He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. You asked, "Also does the scriptures guarantee jews salvation even though they were cut off but can be grafted back on?" First of all: (Rom 2:28 KJV) For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: (Rom 2:29 KJV) But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. Paul uses the term "and not in the letter", meaning not necessarily through Abrahm. For God's chosen people were called stiff-necked, even as they came out of boundage from Egypt. They called Jesus a bastard and proclaim their haughtiness by Saying "We are of Abraham" (i.e. We know who our father is) because they new Mary was not married as yet to Joseph. (Rom 11:25 KJV) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (Rom 11:26 KJV) And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: (Rom 11:27 KJV) For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. (And this was fulfilled at the cross) Israel ( the people of the covenant) will be grafted back into the Root (Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.) after "the fulness of the Gentiles" and as with all creatures, "whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved". (Note: "if they abide not still in unbelief") Blindness is still on many there for they do not regard the New Testament and are still waiting for the Messiah. And yet many have been grafted back into the Root for their faith in Christ. And seeing this we should see that That Day is closer now than when we first believed. Not all Gentiles will call upon the name of the Lord and so not all Israel will call upon the name of the Lord, but God has taken away their sin through Christ on the cross. All they have to do is accept that and they will be saved just like anyone else. But as to the "Total Nation of Israel" being saved (as some say) it is as with the great Exodus, not all entered into the promised land. It is through Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, that they will be saved if they call upon Him. (Joh 14:6 KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. No one, Jew or Gentile, can enter the kingdom except through Christ. My Pastor used to have a saying, "Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a Pontiac." terrib |

127 | The Lord Jesus revealed? | 2 Thess 1:7 | terrib | 110698
Hi Ray, Just a follow up about: John Gill's Exposition of the Bible He preached in the same church as C. H. Spurgeon over one hundred years earlier. Yet most people today have never heard of John Gill. This is unfortunate, since his works contain priceless gems of information that are found nowhere except in the ancient writings of the Jews. 128 | The Lord Jesus revealed? | 2 Thess 1:7 | terrib | 110697
Hi Ray, Come now, let us reason together.. 2 Th 2:6 KJV And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. Let's disect this verse: "And now ye know", and now you know what? What I (Paul) just told you in the previous verses.(2 Th 2:3,4) "what withholdeth", the things that must come to pass before Christ's return. "that he might be revealed", who? the son of perdition. Allow me to paraphrase, extremely! 2 Th 2:1 Listen up brothers concerning the coming of Christ. 2 Th 2:2 Don't get up tight thinking that Christ is coming in the next few days. 2 Th 2:3 Don't believe that heresy. Apostasy must happen first then this anti-christ must set himself up and sit on earth in place of God. And all this takes quite some time. 2 Th 2:4 This son of perdition is full of unrighteousness which will become evident. 2 Th 2:5 Don't you remember I told this stuff last time I was there with you? 2 Th 2:6 Until all this happens, the apostasy, the setting up of a false church and this anti-christ's deceitful plan to become God on Earth, then this anti-christ will be revealed. (as he is now since we are discussing it here). 2 Th 2:7 This craftiness is now at work. And... (allow me to interject a commentary here): From 'John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible': "only he who now letteth, will let, until he be taken out of the way;...that is, the Roman empire and Roman emperors, and which were by degrees entirely removed, and so made way for the revelation of this wicked one: and which was done partly by Constantine the emperor receiving the Christian faith, whereby the Roman empire as Pagan ceased; and by increasing the riches of the church, and feeding the pride, ambition, and covetousness of the bishops, especially the bishop of Rome; and next by removing the seat of the empire from Rome to Byzantium, which he called Constantinople: here the Greek emperors continued in succession, and neither they themselves, nor even their exarchs, resided at Rome, but at Ravenna; so that way was made for antichrist to come to his seat, and there was nothing to rival and eclipse the grandeur, power, and glory of the Roman popes: and that which let was also taken out of the way, by the division of the empire, by Theodosius, giving to his elder son Arcadius, the eastern, and to the younger, Honorius, the western parts of it: the eastern empire was in process of time seized upon and possessed by Mahomet and the Saracens; and the western empire was overrun by the Goths, Vandals, and Huns, and became extinct about the year 476, in Augustulus, the last of the Roman emperors, who was obliged to abdicate the government by Odoacer king of the Heruli; when the kingdom of the Lombards took place in Italy, and afterwards that was translated to Charles the great, king of the French; so that there was nothing more of the Roman empire remaining than the bare name, as at this day; and by this means the popes of Rome got to the height of their power and glory, which is meant by the revelation of the man of sin." So, after all that: 2Th 1:7 KJV And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his (His) mighty angels, 2Th 2:6 KJV And now ye know what (not whom) withholdeth (the things to come - time) that he (satanic) might be revealed in his (satanic) time. 2Th 2:7 KJV For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he (Roman references) who now letteth (restrains or stands in the way) will let, until he (Roman references) be taken out of the way. (Paul was not ashamed of the gospel or the consequences of preaching the gospel and if he meant the Holy Spirit here he would have said so. And the church at Thessalonica was young and Paul would have explained explicitly what he meant because they misread the first epistle concerning the time of Christ's coming.) Other versions: 2Th 2:6 (ASV) And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. (CEV) You already know what is holding this wicked one back until it is time for him to come. (ISV) You know what it is that is now holding him back, so that he will be revealed when his time comes. (KJV) And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (KJVA) And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (MKJV) And now you know what holds back, for him to be revealed in his own time. Hope this helps. Forgive me for being so lengthy, but I thought others may be reading this and it may also needs some explanation. Peace, Love You Brother terrib |

Hello mommapbs, Maybe the answer is three. Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Rom 11:35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Peace |

130 | seeking repentance | Heb 12:17 | terrib | 110111
Ray, You wrote: "for the birthright was not available to him any longer." Exactly! And this is what will happen after the harvest. The door will be shut. And as in the parable (Luke 16:19) of Lazarus wanting a bit of water, the time will be too late. So, live well, let your light shine and Glorify God the Father in all you do. p.s. I have watched this forum for some time and I enjoy reading many of the gifted answers. |
