Nick, at what point in time is it that you believe all people will be saved? Is it when they die a physical death? Is it after death, are you saying they receive a second chance?

For obvious security reasons I have made it my practice not to email anyone. Nick, I study the bible inductively and search the scriptures to see if things people say are true. We are called to do that I believe. I have done many in-depth studies that is why I chose to discuss scripture in light of people's theology. I take everything back to scripture and line it up with God's word rather than lining the scripture up with theology as you call it. In saying that there are some historical christian doctrines that all true believers adhere to. These are called the essentials of the christian faith. As many have told you what you are saying is not in line with these. I know you know this already as you are a bright, kind person. Since I believe you have confused the basics of the christian faith that is why we must start with the basic teaching of how one is saved. We can do that if you want but if not please realize that what you are saying amounts to a different gospel. It is not the gospel of the bible. Come out from among the group you are involved with and be willing to be taught. May God bless you. Val

I don't know how to answer your question Nick. As I told you I study a whole book of the bible at a time using the NASB inductive Study Bible which is available on this site. The reason I say that is I can discuss passages in the bible or a book of the bible. The whole point in studying this way is to know God better. I also see what He is like and how He relates to people. It is essential that we study the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. Rather than focusing on the things I have questions about, I study the bible in depth book by book. I believe the bible and what it says even though I don't understand it all. I use the in depth studies by precept ministeries international. You can google them. Start in Genesis and work your way through. If you study with an open mind and prayfully I believe God will honor your heart. May God bless you. Val Deut 4:29 But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life. |

Nick, do you know much about the religious leaders of Jesus' day? What some of these leaders did was add to the written word. They added some 600 or so rules and placed more importance on these than the word alone. So in a way can you see that adding something to the written word that is not there is something the Lord does not like? He stated that in Revelation. Rev 22:18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book In saying this I believe it is a warning to all of us to be very careful how we handle the word of God. Today, we have the advantage of having resources to study the word of God. We have the written word. We have bible dictionaries and all kinds of aids to help us in our studies so we can study and the word ourselves. There are many good religious leaders today. How we discern which are the good ones is to take what they say and line it up with scripture. We see the example in Acts 17:11; After hearing the gospel from Paul and Silas, these new believers "were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so" |

That is an interesting perspective. So in essense are you saying that the Creator is not being fair? Are you saying if he warned those who did not chose to worship Him as Creator and told them about "hell" they would have turned away from their false gods and worshiped Him?

Looking back to Genesis, did the Lord warn Adam and Eve when He placed them in the garden?

The Micah passage is about forgiveness but the balance of that passage is that it must come from a repentant heart. If there is no repentance there is no forgiveness.

1 John 3:10 By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God's will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ). 1 John 3:11 For this is the message (the announcement) which you have heard from the first, that we should love one another, 1 John 3:12[And] not be like Cain who [took his nature and got his motivation] from the evil one and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his deeds (activities, works) were wicked and malicious and his brother's were righteous (virtuous). Notice the contrast here. What types of children are there? Please do a study on the nature of God. His attributes and character. Lets end this thread until after you do that study. May God bless you. Val |

130 | Moabites forbidden and Ruth allowed?? | Deut 23:3 | Val | 214581
Ruth was an exceptional woman. If you read the book of Ruth you will see this in the way she took care of her mother in law. Her mother in law was in a very bad mood after her sons died. It was Ruth who kept the family together. Boaz was the lucky one. He was a lot older than Ruth. Boaz praised Ruth for her behavior in not running after young men. Once Ruth and her mother in law returned to the homeland Ruth was the one who went out and searched for food. They were dirt poor. Ruth took instructions from her mother in law and did everything she told her. Boaz took note of this and being the kinsman redeemer he is an example of how Christ Jesus is the kinsman redeemer also for the Gentiles. Because a gentile is in the line of Christ. Praise the Lord, Val

134 | Where the priest impatient and greedy? | 1 Sam 2:13 | Val | 206156
No problem. I think Eli's sons were taking advantage of their position. I believe there were numerous priests performing this service. The two sons were like the head priests. Eli was the top priest. Levitcus lays out the details. I have studied Leviticus and I Samuel that is why I answered your question. Leviticus would probably answer your detail question about the fork but again it all goes back to the "fat". Blessings, Val
135 | Consititues Faith as Opposed to David? | 1 Sam 27:1 | Val | 208221
Bowler, are you OK. Haven't seen you post in a while. Hope everything is alright. I have been studying Hebrews. Here are some verses for encouragement. Heb 13:1 Let love of the brethren continue. Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Heb 13:3 Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. Heb 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," Heb 13:6 so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?" Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hope you have a good day in the Lord. Blessings Val |

136 | Was this really Samuel's spirit? | 1 Sam 28:11 | Val | 201923
Correction, the devil is no where mentioned in this passage. As gvgriffin has answered the Lord allowed Samuel to speak to Saul one last time. We must always put scripture above commentary no matter how beloved our commentaries are to us.

139 | Was this really Samuel's spirit? | 1 Sam 28:11 | Val | 201955
The Lord had confronted Saul about his sin - but Saul had never repented of it. Samuel told Saul the kingdom had been torn from him - "what is this sound of the sheep I hear" Saul could not accept this fact and was in rebellion against the Lord even until the day he died. Consulting a medium was a sin. When Samuel spoke to him one last time he repeated what the Lord had already told him and added the news of his death. It wasn't that the Lord wouldn't answer Saul. It was that he wouldn't listen. When Saul took that attitude the Lord no longer answered his prayers. The lesson in this for us is that we must deal with sin in our lives and worship the Lord his way according to His ordinances. Thank you for listening and searching out the scriptures for yourself. Blessings, Val |

140 | When/ why did Israel separate into 2 | 1 Kings | Val | 203206
Dear Azure, I just finished a Precept Inductive Study of 1 and 2 Samuel. David's immediate family was affected. He lost 4 sons. However, I don't see in scripture where he is the cause of Israel and Judah splitting. |
