121 | Can you be married without love? | Eph 5:22 | TheCurtMan | 87662
I find that alot of times when people are talking about love in a relationship, they are picturing love from an emotional view-point. Love, true love is more an action then it is an emotion, "Love suffereth long, and is kind. Love envieth not. Love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, thinketh no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. LOVE NEVER FAILETH." I Cor. 13:1-11 A lesson that I've learned from King David is that emotions can be ruled, and trained. A lesson that I've learned from Paul is that before he commanded the women to submitt to the husband in Eph. 5:22, he commanded the couple to submitt to one another in v.21. And the lesson that I've learned from Christian Society is that alot of men tend to overlook the part telling them to submitt to their wives. The sin isn't being married without love, the sin is BEING without love The CurtMan |

122 | True of False Prophet?? | 2 Timothy | TheCurtMan | 87654
Now I'm really confused. You're telling me that you are intentionally, with full knowledge, following a False Prophet, just because they teach a doctrine that tickles your fancy?? Then you're going to take this garbage and spread it, not caring who you might infect with it on this website?! Back in the day, you could've gotten stoned to death for spreading unsound doctrine. However; I don't think that you're that thick in the head. I think that you're on joke time with the word of God, in essance, trying to be funny. I think that you're well aware of the fact that the Watchtower is a False Prophet, which is why you're probably not a Witness. But you were at one time wasn't you Truthfinder?? |

123 | Does anyone have a good way to explain t | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87597
Hey Truthfinder, Thanks for answering question 3. in your notes to Tim. I'm under the impression that scripture also stipulates that there is only one God, Isa. 44:6 and 45:5. Now if Jesus isn't Jehovah, and if Jesus is 'a god', then aren't you suggesting polythesim?? the belief in more than one God |

Tim, I think that you hit the nail on the head with that one. Good point. Nicely put. The CurtMan |

125 | Does anyone have a good way to explain t | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87595
Hello Truthfinder, I'm know as The CurtMan. I just read your post and I was left with the impression that you believe that the doctrine of the trinity is anti-biblical, is this correct?? If it is I was wondering if you could answer me three questions; 1. Inspite of all that scripture says and suggest on this topic, how did you come to the conclusion that you did?? 2. How would you explain John 1:1 3. Is Jesus Jehovah?? If I misunderstood your post, then my apologies, but I can't get around the last line, "Needless to say, the trinity doctrine is not a Bible teaching." |

127 | What is the glory of God? | Is 42:8 | TheCurtMan | 87444
I hope you didn't take my question about God waking me up in the morning the wrong way. It was an example from the perspective of someone that doesn't acknowledge nor give God the 'glory' He desirves. Just for the record, that someone isn't me!! After reading John's answer, I agree with you, God's glory is alot deeper than my difinition. But just outta curiosity, suppose I couldn't define God's glory from a christian's perspective; or God's attributes, how would you explain these things to say a child of ten years of age?? Is it possible to explain the things of God in simple terminology?? Or is there any need because everyone on this web site is a mature christian?? Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to be funny or smart, it's just that simplifying the word of God has always been a very deep and compassionate concern of mine. I just believe that the discussion of the Word of God should be simple enough that even a child could follow it. Just in case there is a 'babe' present and following it. So what do you think, that maybe I should sign off and take my concerns elsewhere?? |

128 | Justification for non-Christian Living?? | Gal 5:24 | TheCurtMan | 87441
Thanks for your reply Prazn, Very simply put. I find that alot of times Christians like to use terminology that is only known to us. For those who isn't familar with our terminology, they tend to loose focus of the point. How would you respond to the christian that makes light of this struggle do to the fact that we are suppose to have the Holy Spirit living within us?? Ever encountered the type?? |

129 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87240
Radioman2, I can't arguee with you on that. Been there, done that, and got a t-shirt for it. A few years ago I had this crazy idea about evanglizing Jehovah Witnesses. I seriously got up on Saturday Mornings and went to the street corners where they were handing out Watchtower Mags. I had been dealing with these two men for awhile. One of them was deeply grounded in his belief, he wasn't going anywhere, or so that's the impression he gave me. His partner on the other hand started taking interest in some of the questions that were being asked. His partner couldn't get around the truth and he started to pick this up. The discussion was on the destruction of the world taken out of II Peter 3. I was consteadly being hit with; "No, you're wrong."; "It doesn't mean that."; the whole nine yards. I ended up loosing my cool and came outta my mouth with, "I don't care what the bible says, I'm telling you what it means!!" End of story. Everything said from that point was wasted energy. This is an open line of communication. You might not be able to get through to the person you're corrisponding with, but you have no idea how you're effecting the person who's following your conversation. |

130 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87239
Good Morning Mommapbs, I thought a PeaceMaker was just that, one who kept the peace, it kinda goes hand in hand with loving you enemies, whatching your tongue and all that. However I could be wrong. If a PeaceMaker is one who shares Christ, then do you think it would be fair to say that a PeaceMaker is one who shares Christ with humility and in love?? Remember; if it's not done in love then it is in vain, I Cor. 13:1-2. Also, if there is an issue on the forum that might get one's feathers ruffled, do you personally think that it would be wise to take part of that discussion. What we say today, if not said correctly, we might end up apologizing for tomorrow. The CurtMan |

131 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87236
Dear John, Thanks for your reply, I can't help but to feel that emotions are to be ruled, not the ruler. In other words we are suppose to rule our emotions, and not let our emotions rule us. When our Heavenly Father spoke on Humility, I personally got the feeling that He ment for us to be Humble and Loving towards one another INSPITE of our emotions. How many times have your emotions led you down the wrong road?? My wife and I are walking down the street arguing like cats and dogs. Some creep jumps outta the ally and beats her till she's black and blue. I do nothing. Finally the Lord calls me home. I have to answer for my actions while here on earth. He ask me why didn't I keep my marriage vow to protect my wife the day she was hospitalized. What am I going to say to Him John, that I was mad with her?? It's suppose to be about OBEDIENCE John. Obedience inspite of our emotions to the Father. So do you think that I'm wrong on this one or what?? |

132 | Disease or Bad Personal Choice?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87093
Prazn, Listen, I owe you an apology. I got you confused with someone called, 'Angellightboy'. I received something from him that gave me the impression that he was all for homosexuality. Within our first communication together, he implied that same sex marrigae were OK, if they loved one another. Which sparked my reply about Love rejoices not in iniquity, but in truth. Somewhere in the middle of this you steped in, I lost track, and thus the reason for my apology. I truley am sorry, and ask for your forgiveness. I honestly can't say how I would respond if someone told me that they thought I was all for the homosexual agenda. |

133 | Am I Wrong?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87086
It appears to me that this answer was taken from Romans 1:21-32. I've been encountering different aspects of this verse since I've been at this site. I'm sure you might know this already, but for me I'm just finding out how close we are at overturning the 'Row vs. Wade' decision. Apparently the woman has become a Christian. Has been one for awhile. In order to get this decision overturned, it requires legal actions on her part which as I understand she is ready, willing, and able. I believe that a timetable have already been established. I also believe that this will be met with a great deal of resistance. I'm soliciting your prayers in this matter if you don't mind. Your's and everyother Christian who might read this. OK?? |

134 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | TheCurtMan | 87014
Hey, Thanks for the positive attitude. My system at home has been malfunction for awhile now. The only way I can get to this site is on the job. Yesterday, after I got off work, I went home and attacked my library like there was no today. I made all kinds of notes from John MacAuthur; Matthew Henry, and William MacDonald. This morning I couldn't find them. Rushing for time, I bought the whole commentary. After I said what I had to say, I rechecked some of the Notes for yesterday. That's when I encountered the one from Radioman. Yesterday alot of what he said went over my head like a 747 bound for England, today it all made since. I also encountered the one from you. My first thought was, "I could've stayed home in bed a little longer." I guess working 13 hr. days will eventually catch up with a person. Then I noticed I misspelled your name. I guessed at that point that I was going to have a lone day. |

It is now 10:am in the Nations Capital, and I owe you a serious apology. I just went through the whole nine yards of an explanation, only to discover now that you didn't need it. I'm sorry for wasting your time. Me, I did learn something new on the issue. |

136 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | TheCurtMan | 86986
PART 2 They had heard the gospel of the grace of God. They were not in darkness concering the way of salvation. Judas Iscariot had been enlightened but he rejected the light. They TASTED THE HEAVENLY GIFT. The Lord Jesus is the heavenly Gift. They had tasted of Him but had never received Him by a definite act of faith. It is possible to taste without eating or drinking. When men offered wine mixed with gall to Jesus on the cross, He tasted it, but He would not drink it-Matt.27:34. It is not enough to taste Christ; unless we eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, that is, unless we truly receive Him as Lord and Savior, we have no life in us-John 6:53. They had BECOME PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Before we jump to the conclusion that this necessarily implies conversion, we should remember that the Holy Spirit carries on a preconversion ministry in men's lives. He sanctifies unbelievers, putting them in a position of external privilege. He convicts unbelievers of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He leads men to repentance and points them to Christ as their only hope. Men may thus partake of the Holy Spirit's benefits without being indwelt by Him." RadioMan2 did an interesting post on this very topic yesterday. His perspective included view-points from John MacAuthor. John MacAuthor and Willian MacDonald viewpoints parrallel. Both tends to indicate that these verses are not referring to loosing one's Eternal Salvation. Therefore these verses are not contradicting scripture that tends to indicate that absolutely; positively nothing can seperate us from the love of God-Romans 8:35-39. So what do you think?? PART 1 Good Morning Mommabps, It is now 9:am in the Nations Capital. You might want to get a cup of coffee because this one might take a minute. I've done alot of reading on Hebrews 6:4-5 and I came up with something clear and simple. It's taken from the 'Believer's Bible Commentary' by William MacDonald, he said, "We come now to the heart of the warning against apostasy. It applies to a class of people whom it is IMPOSSIBLE to restore again to repentance. Apparently these people had once repented, though no mention is made of their faith in Christ. Now it is clearly stated that a renewed repentance is impossible. Who are these people? The answer is given in verses 4 and 5. In examining the great privileges which they enjoyed, it should be noticed that all these things could be true of the unsaved. It is never clearly stated that they had been born again. Neither is any mention made of such essentials as saving faith, redemption by His blood, or eternal life. They had once been enlightened. They had heard the gospel of the grace of God. |

Well not realy because now I'm confused. If Love rejoices in the truth, and the truth is as we know it in scriptures, scriptures indicate that same sex marriages is a big no no. So how can you be supportive of it?? That is unless you're going to tell me I misunderstood your first response. I got the impression that you thought that it was OK, as long as they loved one another. |

139 | Am I Wrong?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86976
Isn't this suppose to happen to a degree. Doesn't scripture indicate that this world system of things will continue to degenerate until a spicific time period?? I'm not saying that this is an excuse to shriek our christian responsability, but it is stipulated in the bible isn't it??
140 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | TheCurtMan | 86922
I would like to take the time to thank everyone who responded to this post. I've learned a great deal. When Christians come together on one issue, there is a great deal of information to be shared, and different perpectives can be seen. I can't say that I agree with them all, but it still makes for an educational experience for me. But isn't this what christians are suppose to do anyway, help one another with the understanding of Word?? Thanks, The CurtMan |
