121 | Are we supposed to observe the Sabbath? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 103459
That is true ... the difference of opinion over whether the passive voice means that God initiated Sunday worship or not. I proved passive voice doesn't indicated it is God initiated. Kathy should have verified what she was quoting is Biblical.

Kathy ... First, I am not debating the day of worship - it is a minor issue. Second, while it is great that are a Christian and do many things for Him. However, when you quoted/said "Moreover, the passive voice (see above) indicates that the assemblage was orchestrated by someone other than the disciples; it was of divine initiative" ... I proved that was not true. -I showed than man's action is in the passive voice. -I believe Satan's action is in the passive voice. -As well as God's action also can be in the active or middle voice. I contrast Mark 9:38-41 with Matthew 7:21-23 and chapter 25. What people say and do could be a mask. I take care when I post something that I heard, to make sure it lines up with Scripture. When I read or hear something that does not line up with Scripture - I must challange the person. It was a problem in Galatia (Gal 1:6-9) ... but not Berea (Act 17:11). I believe the statement you posted is another gospel, because it is saying that is not true. I don't know Greek well ... but I use several sources. So I am sure what I say is true. Note ... Jackson blew me off, too. He diverted my question to looking at the context. Finally, my intention was not to offend you ... it was to correct your thinking. Searcher |

Kathy, The reason I sent you what Lockman has stated, is because of your orginial question. Were any of these rules violated? There are time we may be unhappy with the response ... but, they do not violate the rules. Searcher |

129 | Nazirite ... immaculate conception??? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 104934
Forgive me if I sound hostile ... I want to know how you see something, that I do not. You said "There were 3 men born a nazirite... samson ... sammuel .. john the baptist." ... but, I believe the latter two were not. I want you to show me using Scripture that Sammuel and John the Baptist were born Nazirites. I am aware that some "experts" say so ... but, that is not good enough for me. Once a question is answered it moves from the unanswered to the answered page ... as you see, I was the second of four people who answered this question you posted. I also was (am) trying to figure out why who had "immaculate conception" in your post ... that is the reason for the question mark. Searcher |

130 | Nazirite ... immaculate conception??? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 104960
Scripture ... 1 Peter 2:1-3 (verse 2) ........... I will reply ... you still have refused to show by Scripture your stance. It is not a matter of winning. You do get VERY defensive when you are challenged. I am glad you brought up 2 Peter 2:2, which is not "I am aware ... but, that is not good enough for me" ... but "Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned" Now you misquoted Scripture. My question was to show me that Samuel and John were born Nazirites. If you read kalos' post you see three were 3 parts. I end this thread with you. |

131 | Nazirite ... immaculate conception??? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 104962
Emmaus ... I am aware that commenators do think Samuel and John were born Nazarites. My problem with saying that Samuel or John were born Nazarites is that only one (two in the translation you cited, for Samuel) of the three parts were part of the vow. For Samson, we see Nazarite included. Searcher |

132 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 105336
Larry ... but are we to look and sound like the world? I see some churches grow in numbers (width) ... but not depth. We should be known by our love for each other ... not because we are friendly. Do we follow the "each other"s in the NT ... as well as discipleship? Searcher |

Scripture ... John 15:13-15 ... The disciples got to that level ... also do you think the following fits? "Have you not just now called to Me, 'My Father, You are the friend of my youth" (Jer 3:4)? |

Scripture ... 2 Sam 6:1-22 (vv 5, 13-18) ... Brian, I see the words celebrating, sacrificed, danced, leaping, offerings, blessed ... none of these words are worship. While some of these words may be related to worship ... most of this chaptr is above praise, which is not the same as worship. People have been misled to think there is a worship dance. Before you respond, take about six months and study the words translated worship ... then you'll see some have a better translation. Searcher |
