Thanks Shelly for your kind input and the cooperation. I didn’t mean to infer that it was a rule and I sure didn’t do it to set anybody off. What I said was, “It’s always easer to communicate with a person when one knows something about the one they are posting with;” I guess the quickest way to get someone to put their fingers in wet paint is to say “Please" don’t touch the wet pain. I apologize for my rudeness for suggesting such bad idea, CDBJ |

Hi Kella, I guess my last line did have a bit of ambiguity mixed in it. Let me ask it a little differently. Have you come to the level yet in your spiritual walk where you can say for certain that your name is inscribed in the Lamb book of like? Putting it another way, have you personally passed the point in time where you know that God won’t judge you for your sins? Romans 6:23 (A) For the wages of sin is death, Where exactly do you stand on this issue on a scale say from 1 to 10 if there were such a scale and why or why not?? How’s that for mass confusion, CDBJ |

Greetings John, I once heard a pastor give an example on the “elect of God” but I don’t remember who it was; that doesn’t surprise though, right? He said, as I remember; there was an archway on a very straight narrow path that lead from an intersection of many wide, well worn, paths. The paths scattered in all different directions, and inscribed on the archway over the narrow, little, sparsely traveled, path were the words; “Whosoever Will May Come” The “few” that passed under the archway notice, after traveling up the path a ways, when the looked back at the archway, it was inscribed differently on the side they were now on with the words; “The Elect of God” I have no Scripture for that but I just thought I would share it; take it for what it’s worth, CDBJ |

Not really; That is a good type but the tree of life shows up in, Rev. 22:1-2 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Still awake, CDBJ |

This might help? (From) Bible Knowledge Commentary 22:2b. As John contemplated the heavenly city, he saw the tree of life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. Interpreters have puzzled over this expression that the tree of life is on each side of the river. Some take this is as a group of trees. Others say that the river of life is narrow and that it flows on both sides of the tree. The tree of life was referred to in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:22, 24), where it was represented as perpetuating physical life forever. Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat of the fruit of this tree. Earlier in Revelation (2:7) the saints were promised the “right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” While the literal and the symbolic seem to be combined in this tree, there is no reason why it could not be an actual tree with literal fruit. The practical effect would be to continue physical life forever. While the verse does not state that the fruit can be eaten, this is presumably the implication. The tree’s leaves… are for the healing of the nations. Based on this statement some have referred this situation back to the millennial times when there will be sickness and healing. However, another meaning seems to be indicated. The word “healing” (therapeian) can be understood as “health-giving.” The English “therapeutic” is derived from this Greek word. Even though there is no sickness in the eternal state, the tree’s fruit and leaves seem to contribute to the physical well-being of those in the eternal state. (BKC) This has been hashed out several times on the forum if my memory serves me right. Another cop-out! CDBJ |

Well if as you say, “there will be people born physically”, and then they would have to have Adams old sin nature and with that comes a multitude of physical problems. Maybe you are on to something here? CDBJ |

Hello 00123, Well for starters, please first prove that there is such a thing as a Christian nation. I wasn't aware that the Bible suggested such a place. Chapter and verse if you could please. Psalm 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. Maybe you could explain exactly what a “Christian” is from a biblical view point and we can move on from there. CDBJ |

I pray, as I am commanded, and put it in the Lord's hands. He is still on his throne and in charge of this world’s outcome. I've read then end of His Book and we win. Romans 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Know matter how you slice it, Romans 13:1 Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Let’s just keep this forum as a Bible study forum and permit those that would do otherwise to form their own forum whenever and under whatever name they desire. To do otherwise is in against the rules and guidelines established by the Lockman Foundation and those in violation will be informed of such activity if they persists and you can count on it! 2 Tim. 4:2-3 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; Have a nice day, CDBJ |

Greetings InGodTrust, I’m glad you like the poem. Here is one that came about from a prayer that I offered up to the Lord when my precious wife was at death’s door several years ago. Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; A SHORT PRAYER Oh Father I fear, and that for life, Not for me dare say, but for that of my wife. She’s a gem to me, now polished by years, The love of my life, a kindred in tears. I plead for her safety, her health, her well being, But the wear of cruel time is what I’ve been seeing. She loves you, Lord, and you are the best, I can’t compete when it comes to that test. Please let her stay here a while, and dispel my great fears, I love her more now in these golden of years. A helpmate for sure is what she has been, Always there by my side through thick and through thin. I know I’ve no right in this prayer I proclaim, But I ask this dear Father in Jesus’ sweet name. Amen CDBJ |

Hi Grand Tad and welcome to the forum. You might want to check the date on the far right side of the page of the post that you are answering? You answered a question that was asked in November of 2005. It takes a little time to fall into the swing of things but don't give up! It's nice and carries a lot more authority when one backs up what they suggest with a verse or two from scripture. I could tell you all kinds of stuff but look what carries the power. 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: If “our opinions” don’t quite add up to the standard which one is right? Right—God’s Word wins. Keep up the good work, CDBJ |

Greetings, You must have my post confused with someone else’s post since my post was to believers regarding fellowship and baptism. Your reference answer was using Revelation 2:4,5 which is speaking to a general assembly of believers and the threat of removing their candle, which evidently happened, because we don’t get much light with regard to God’s Word out of Ephesus know days now do we. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

Greeting Checho, The language that I look for, with reference to people on the forum, is spoken very well by you, and that is God’s Word! You introduce you self by using God’s Word and lifting up Jesus and not some denomination; you end with the salutation of, in Christ! It doesn’t get any better then that. Romans 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Have a great day, CDBJ |

137 | when will jesus christ return | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 107323
Hi Norm, The return of the Lord, as a thief in the night, is the term used to express what his return will be like to those who aren’t looking for him. I Thes. 5:3 mentions the word, they and them, which is a ref. to unbelievers. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. Verse 4 shows the believers that the Lord’s return won’t be like a thief, to those who are looking for him. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Paul had explained the conditions and signs that would be present, before the Lord’s return to the Thes. 2 Thes. 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? There are numerous passages in scripture that explain the conditions and signs that will come to pass right up to the Lord’s return but people like to twist them around to mean something different even in the face of warning! Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Mark 13:4-5 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Have a great day, CDBJ |

Hi Just me, I got a chuckle from your post. Did you proof read it before you sent it? You stated, “I believe we should live and plan as if Jesus will not come in our lifetime.” Then you went on to say,” I believe we should expect His return at anytime and as Jesus said we are to "be ready". It sounds like you plan on dying real soon if that’s the case? Are you advocating Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. Just kidding, I have done this myself a few times, CDBJ |

139 | Was Adam and Eve's fall a good thing? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 109288
Welcome to the forum, I was going to start of by saying Hi Water, but I starter laughing and decided to change it. I think the answer to your question resides in a verse found in I Cor. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. What this is telling us is that until a person is actually born of the Spirit, the things contained in God’s Word won’t make any sense to them. Jesus said this same thing in the book of John. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. The word see, in the English comes to us from the Koine Greek word EIDO; and it means perception or understanding. The best thing that anyone can do to help someone understand Scripture is to expound on the person of Jesus and what he has done for them so that they will put all of their faith and trust in Him and as a result God will cause them to be born again. John 3:7-8 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The key to understanding the whole Bible resides in the person of Jesus, the Son of God. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Have a great day, CDBJ |
